Hi everyone!  I have gained 130 pounds since my diagnosis and I was already obese.  I need to lose 200 pounds.  Chemo kicked my butt and I still don't have my energy level back.  The weight gain is impacting my mobility and I have had enough.  I am curious if anyone has gone through this surgery after breast cancer treatment and while on Tamoxifen.   My estrogen levels since my first chemo treatment have consistently categorize me as post menopausal (I was diagnosed at 43 and had regular periods).  I am an RN and I am aware that we store estrogen in our fat.  I am a little concerned with rapid weight loss (blood estrogen levels are different than fat estrogen levels).  Has anyone had this surgery and if so, were there any special things you did?  Thanks so much!

Hey Shadylady1 ~ Just wanted you to know that I see your thread.  I was chunky at diagnosis in 2011 and am now 70 pounds heavier thanks to lovely breast cancer.  I feel for you and have you in my thoughts.  Have you had the surgery yet?  I was reading about this a couple weeks ago and it seems gentler than the bypass surgery a friend of mine had.  I assume your oncologist is aware and supportive of this surgery?  Take care there in Virginia.
