Anyone else growing a beard while on an AI?

Well - not as bad as a man's beard, but my oh my, I have a lot of facial hair now. It's mainly on my neck and on the bottom of my chin.

I did have the odd hair before bc - I was in menopause when it stuck.

I know the reason is because of the lack of estrogen in my body (I'm on Aromasin) and I put up with the odd hair here and there , but it's getting to be a lot more than just here and there.

Do any of you wax? I'm a bit reluctant to do too much other than pluck the hairs out (ouch!) as I have this image in my head that I'll end up growing a full beard like a man and it will get out of control lol.

I actually use one of my husband's old electric razors. I'm on tamoxifen. I probably have about 20 hairs, and of course a mustache(thanks, menopause) and it was driving me crazy to pluck them all. And with waxing, you have to wait until the hairs get to a certain length. With shaving, I can get them right away. Never did I think I would be shaving my face!

electrolysis.. not too expensive and permanent after about 10 treatments. If your hair is darker you can try laser, but thats pretty expensive .

Thanks Mary - is the skin where you're shaving still soft? I have this fear that if I start shaving I'll end up with skin like my husband's!!

Bevin - I had thought of electrolysis, but it is a bit too expensive for me.

Yes, it is, Trisha-Anne. In fact, I'm thinking it's probably softer since it gets exfoliated daily.

I am extremely happy with an epilator. Not quite a shave but hair seems to be growing in much more slowly.

Not as painful as waxing

I did very successfully, electrolysis a few years ago prior to all the dang AL and cancer thing, worked great but you need a good tech

tried a couple till I found one who was funny and terrific at it

now since all this nasty, I just use a razor...
