That's wonderful news, Pooh!

That's awesome, Pooh!
-
It's been 5 days since I was last on the boards and I think I went thru withdrawl. Who's ready for a refresher?
-
Just back...had to have some dinner with my wine...I'm with you, Teena!
Vicki -
Congrats on your great news Pooh! I'm toasting to you as I type.
-
I'm just starting scotch #2. Mowed my lawn today and it was grueling work as it's been so rainy here lately and then today had to be hot and humid! Yep, time for another drink!
Congrats, Pooh, on being negative. I'm BRCA2+ and I don't care. It is what it is. At least I have a 'reason' for my BC. And now I have another reason to drink! -
Geez...always missing you guys...
Great news Pooh...I am supposed to go for the genetic testing after my vacation.
Hi Teena...I'm going to be gone from this Saturday to next Saturday...hopefully they will have internet at the hotel or I'll be having serious withdrawl!
One afternoon at Cheers, Cliff Clavin was explaining the Buffalo Theory to his buddy Norm. Here's how it went: "Well ya see, Norm, it's like this... A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers."
And we are the smartest bunch on the boards!!!LOL -
too tired to think
too tired to drink
goin to bed ladies...have a great night. Have a couple for me.
Hugs
Vickie -
Wow, Vickie! I always new I was smart and I guess I stay that way by drinking! Thanks for the reminder!

I always new I was smart
Did you do that on purpose, or are you really that smart from all that drinking?? LOL! -
How ya been Janis? I've been touching in and out of here just a bit lately. Kid is back in school, I'm back to work. Back to "normal", whatever that is.

Now you guys are cracking me up!
-
A little bit of an earlier start for me tonite, as I got off work around 6pm, came home and BBQ'd, for myself, first with a vodka martini (it has been so long, dirty w. anchovy stuffed olives) Now, I am getting ready for my steak, grilled asparagus and portabella mushrooms with a glass of cab. Yum and life goes on and it is good, even if you are only grillin' for yourself. Oh, I made some chick kabobs too! Leftovers for the next couple of days. Glad to be here when others are awake and havin' fun!
-
I bbqed steaks just for me and my furbabies...
I've never minded cooking and eating by myself,
in fact I prefer it...
Don't have to make conversation...
Your meal sounds yummy
just vera -
I made some stir-fry broccoli and fresh pineapple. Vegan. Yum!
-
It's 6:24 and the DH just walked in, and the 12 year old is already stressing his homework(art), and I still haven't figured out what's for dinner. Sh*t!!
lini -
ChristineK- that sounds like the perfect dinner to me- from "filthy Goose Martini w/ Blue Cheez olives, to the cab. Big Fat Yum. My biggest debaucherie was Sat. Cubs game with friends, (with the obligatory beer), bar post 7th inning, champaigne at a friends back yard, and a crazy amount of sushi- and really good wine. This fest started at noon and was done at nine! I should be doing a detox now, but why?
-
Stir-fry some leftovers!
-
Wow, Lini, you sure do have a lot of posts under your belt for someone who's only been here a short time! No, not trying to stir anything up just messing with ya! I'm off to bed as I have to get up at 4:30. The cheese awaits!
-
You guys just don't know how much I hate to cook. I really, really hate it. I'm thinking as much as my son hates art. He just scrunched up another piece of paper. Ah the stresses of life. We're getting back to normal here.
-
So, order out for a pizza. Is it really that complicated? Maybe I'm clueless since I'm single (and lovin' it now) but whip something up and if they don't want to eat it then they can starve or figure it out for themselves. Is that wrong?
-
You want me to come out there and cook you all? You'd have to pay me and I'd have to bring my precious dogs (they're fun!) but I'd cook all damn day long if I were paid to. Maybe your husb will pay you in jewelry if you cook more often?
-
Okay, you're right Janis, how did I get so many posts so quickly. Guess I best get away from the computer and get something done around here. It's leftovers from last night. Sorry for the bitch. I've been a real one lately.
-
oh, ME TOO! Time to drink more, and more often!
-
Oh, and PM me anytime to vent/bitch. I can take it and I've been told I give good advice!
-
janis????????
broccoli and pineapple together?????
i bet my kid would like that and she's really struggling with her weight.......how'd you cook it? -
hey y'all,
I haven't been around lately. Working and such . We went away for the holiday weekend, up to the mountains in central PA. We took our brand new tent and....you guessed it, pouring rain leaking through new tent all night! Right in my face. I must have had half a gallon of vodka and cranberry with our friends that night and even that didn't help me sleep through the waterfall in my face.
We packed up and went home the next morning. So much for the vacation! Now we are looking for a used motorhome.
I'm sitting here at work thinking about the large martini that is calling my name ! I can't wait to get home. I'm tired and cranky and all I want is that drink. Does that sound bad??? Sometimes I feel like such an alcoholic!!
Oh well, I'm going to shut this baby down and head for home. I have a 34 mile drive ahead of me and I'm getting crankier by the second !
To all my friends! Cheers!
Jan -
Shel, I kind of stir-fried it with oil and soy sauce. You know, Asian style. Didn't seem off to me.
-
i'm going to try it for her.......she loves all those things, and she likes tandoori spices too. thanks!
i'm one of those that can't mix veggies and fruit, "salad is salad and fruit is dessert" etc.......so i don't come up with very creative combos for everybody else lol. -
