Tang, your docs, frankly, are hypervigilent at this point. You have been through hell, they know it. They are considering that the hospital & docs are at risk for law suit. They are going to take "care" in the medico-legal sense. If they don't they are stupid. Care should be taken under all circumstances. You document everything. Trust me they are. I have found it interesting over the years of obtaining documents that what I know to be true and what is written i.e last Endocrines notes. Fiction. No complaints. Yeah right.

You need a biopsy, plain and simple. Ask that it be sent to another lab for a second opinion, respective of their dx. Call and clear with your insurance ---state this " I'm requesting this b/c there has been so many complications and screw-ups with my case, I want a second opinion on all aspects of my case, unless you can convince me that my care has been without negligence" Saying it that way is going to get everyone's notice.

Have you got an insurance nurse case manager? Most insurance companies will do this. I have found that they will work more in your interest than anyone else.

Tang you already know my opinion. Get a lawyer on board.

You can't change the physical b/c the biopsy is unknown. You sure as hell can make people start jumping through hoops.

Biopsy, asap, no excuses by the docs--get're done. Not next week. This week. Stomp your feet and tell them suck eggs! You have been subjected to enough foul ups.

i have a doctor appt to check out my skin issues tomorrow afternoon. We have a mini-vacation planned over the weekend and I'm set to start Kadcyla on Monday so if it is shingles I want to nip it in the bud. And I've never considered the vax before because I'm too young for shingles...but I'm also too young for cancer and here I am!

Tangandchris, you really do need a biopsy ASAP but our bodies have been messed with beyond measure by treatment so I am betting on something benign.

You know an infection will cause swelling also.....   and I know lymph nodes will swell with ANY infection, even with a sore throat....

I mean I don't know very much, but it IS a possibility ....  I don't know anything for sure, and like Sass says, best to have it fully checked out.... but I'm just hoping it is an infection so we can quit worrying.

    Let us know, okay?

Sass-makes me nervous just reading what you said about lawyers and such......caues me anxiety!! I am getting a biopsy, just a matter of when it will be done. I'm thinking after I see this BS tomorrow she will say in the next week. They are talking surgical or CT guided...anyone ever have a CT guided biopsy?

Sorry if I'm getting on ya'lls nerves with this crap. I'm on my nerves too.

Tang, I've assisted on CT guided bx's, and had sterotatic bx which is essentially the same--if not the same. The difference I don't know about is the amount of radiation used.

too strident tang sorry. Ativan :) In your pocket today  :)

     Love you Hugs sassy

Shingles Knows No Age in a reduced immune state--------herpes varicella is the setup i.e  Chickenpox, herpes zoster i.e Shingles is the follower. Any untoward problem with this lay at the feet of your Mo for not getting you properly vaccinated before chemo.

Getting real tired of Mo's and the ASCO industry that doesn't properly protect us all from injury due to the drugs they prescribe. When they know a reduced immune status is a set up for certain preventable problems

Bluebird died b/c of lack of pneumovax before chemo started. Lack of due dillegence lead to her pneumonia that lead to pneumonitis. Her BC didn't kill her--------her lungs did. A simple vaccine administered before chemo could have made a difference in her longevity. She had a fearsome type of brain cancer, but it wasn't the reason she went into the hospital the last time. It was here lungs. They may have not have been an issue if she had the pneumovax.

We need to get pissy about this.

I was fortunate because right after my BC dx, my PCP sent me to the nurse for a shingles vaccination. I'd already had the flu shot, Tdap, and Pneumonia shots.

They wanted me protected in case I needed chemo. (I didn't, but now that DH is on so much immune-destroying medication, he can't get a shingles shot. I'll have to check on the others.)

Can't remember if I already posted about the Neurologist's appointment last  Wednesday, so will wait til tomorrow and look back to see if I wrote anything.

    Nighty night, Owlettes!

    p.s. 2TA - love the pics.

    thanks Blessings,

Been thinking of FBB, then Sassy's post, this is what I see on FB:

    image

Been so busy, I need to make time to get caught up.

So blasted hot here.got an email Thursday afternoon to get tickets for DWTS - for today or tomorrow (I chose tomorrow). But way too hot (over 100*) to stand on line for at least 3-4 hours in the blazing sun, no shade, no chairs. So the friend I asked and I decided it would be better to skip it (she a trip/wedding coming up and don't want her to get sick), after hours in the sun, it's freezing inside. Will try again to later in the season or next time.

Hugs to all who need (or want) them

Sas- i hope you sued the chit outta your former employer.

    Z- love that acronym!

2nd- that is beautiful. I sure miss FBB.

Blessings- i  hope you are having better days.

Bad- my BFF's hubby got shingles at 25, so i would say age is not a factor, though you think about it being for older people. I think that is just an immunity issue.

Smaarty- hanging out in your pocket!

Patty- good to see you again on here.

Chevy, Cam, Wren, Susan, Nettie, 444what, Spookie, 3rd,   EVERY ONE OF YOU LOVELY LADIES:  (((((((hugs))))))))

wish i could squeeze you all super tight.

Tang.... just thinking about you....  I had a needle-core guided biopsy, so I don't know if that is the same.... but I could watch him doing this on the monitor...  It was very simple, to me anyway, but of course I was just laying there........ eating chips and cheetos....  JUST kidding!

But he took a snip, and then it was over... So they will find out that way.....  and just don't worry, if you can help it.....  It will be taken care of no matter what.

JWOW, I love that little picture....  so delicate!

I stepped back off of my 2-step stool yesterday,  but skipped the first step, landing down on the floor!   and escaped with my LIFE!  I thought I was on the short stool, but it was the taller one, and this is the SECOND time I have done this....  The first time I fell all over the Laminate..... but it just stunned me, and hurt my whole right side....  But THIS time, I only stepped down onto my FOOT!  DAMN!  Who knew I had any balance?

I almost had heart failure!  You know I only have one good hip left, and  I SAH don't want to hurt the good one... NOR the left!   It has had about as much as it can take!

I just have to learn how to be more careful..

So always remember to use both steps when getting OFF the stool....  You can't always land right-side up while dropping down to the floor from the top step.

    Chevy!!!!! BE CAREFUL!!!!!!

We want to meet you next week, not be worrying about you falling off stuff. And why don't people fall up? Why is it always down?

One of my dogs fell up the deck. I cracked up. She was deaf and blind and would have been insulted if she knew.

Chevy and all, I started doing Tai chi a few months ago.  Very non strenuous and really helps with balance and focus.  They have it at our local senior center but you can get videos online to learn the form.  I do one called Tai chi for Arthritis and wow what a difference.  Highly recommended by this former PE teacher.  OK getting down, carefully, from my soapbox now. Lol.  Love, Jean

Oh,Chevy, glad you didn't hurt your self!  We sure don't want you to miss going to Florida!!

Tang, I agree with all of the above, even though I find it hard for me to do for my self!  Now for a family member, I can raise nine kinds of H**L, but when it comes to me, for some reason, I find it difficult!

Nice pic JWoo and hugs back to you!!

I'll have to post a pic later of my latest "project", but I'll say it involved climbing a ladder, which I hardly ever do!!  But so far, no falls, but have come close a time or two with a misstep

One question - every night, when I lay down, I get a "heavy" feeling in my legs just below the knee, it's worse on my left.  And it also feels like my feet are trying to go to sleep, but they never actually get the tingling, just a weird feeling, could this be a form of neuropathy?  I will ask the doctor next time I go, just wondered if anyone might have some ideas!

oh no, Chevy, that silly stool! Have done that going down the stairs in the dark and miss the bottom one.

Smaarty, let us know how today went.

Don't have time to go back my couple pages so jumping in from here. Have an iPad problem and spending too much time on it, maybe an Owlette has a clue: starting yesterday, can no longer get gmail on the iPad. When I try to access (either by google search for gmail or by bookmark) the screen just flickers very rapidly. Tried googling but there's nothing that I found that addresses this problem. Thanks!

tang, hope you're getting somewhere today with your issues.

Mine are done. Staying with Kaiser, current insurance. The PS will do the kind of implants I want, Sientra shaped, same size, can't ripple and she'll put in allederm which should help keep them where they belong. Sometime in November, have to wait until my weight settles. Wish it could be sooner but I understand. She Can't promise that this will stop them from hurting but I figured it can't hurt (much)!  Actually, I seem to have an easy time after sx as long as I don't wake up sick.  I cancelled the second appt with the other PS, no sense in wasting his time if I'm not changing.  I wasn't a happy camper this morning, figured she'd change her tune just like the last PS did. But I think she'll do nicely and I'm feeling good about this.  I'm putting it out of my mind from here until November!

Wishing you all the best and thanks for listening. It is nice to talk to others and get things off my chest  (ha ha:)

Smaarty, glad that's resolved, sounds like to your satisfaction? Be careful with the goodies, as long as they're healthy (after all your hard work) - says the one who finally had to make the chocolate cake she's been craving for weeks.

Will try to BBL, we'll see

Hi Ladies - Do you have room for one more?  I have been reading so many threads, but can't seem to find a home. I will be having my DMX on October 3rd, but no one has started that thred yet.  There is so much information here, but, I really feel like I want to connect with you incredible women.  Insomniacs seems like a place I need to be since I haven't slept much since my DX.  My biopsy said I have DCIS, 1.5-cm and the first surgen said I needed to decide between a lumpectomy or a mastacomity. Then the MRI came back and said the cancer was 6-7cm with suspicion of infiltrating ducta carsonima an not likely amenable to breast conservation surgery. The next surgeon said, my right breast needed to go.

My grandmother was DX with breast cancer at my age, 52 and passed 5 years later. I feel like all this is nebulous . The information seems to just trickle in and you really don't know what you're facing until the surgery to remove your breast. I decided to let both go given my family history, but I am scard...

SummerSun- welcome to the crappiest club ever!

This thread and a couple of others are the only things that kept me relatively same through this mess. We Insomniacs give each other a hard time, but it is always with a lot of love.

We will be in your pocket for your DMX. That is my nephew's bday- so you have some luck on your side there!

I let both of mine go too. I did not want my healthy breast staring at me, waiting for cancer. it is a big decision, and scary. But you will get through it. It will be tough, and sad, and painful, but you will get through it. Allow yourself to grieve, get therapy, talk to us a lot.

We are all here for you.

    xoxo- jeni

welcome summer sun, like your name, sounds very uplifting.  We are a bunch of crazies! Some have been here, like forever! A few are new, everyone is excepted. We love to be in someone pocket at any given time. Right now that seems to be Tangs. We haven't heard back yet on what she found out today. Hoping all is well.

If you haven't yet, go to TE for beginners, lot of useful info. Stay away from TE troubles! It can scare the hell out of you. Have you had a chance to talk to whippetmom on implants 101? She gives great advice. Be sure to read the header.

Jwoo, are the owls your drawing? Do you sell your work? Love them.

2nd, I know. They were chocolate covered raisins, so healthy, right? Just kidding. Very aware of the calories and I was a little low today.

Chevy, you should lock up that step ladder or throw it away. Do NOT use!

Night all. I should sleep much better tonight.
