Morning gals!  Okay Spookie....  It's good with me....  Thursday at 12:30?  See what Sass says..... after/when she ever wakes UP!   I'm getting my clothes laid out, to see which ones I'm taking....   I have a lot of new pretty tops that I bought at Ross!  Geez, I love that store..!   I'm usually packed 2 months ahead of time.... Ha!

You will be most amazed....  !  Me with my tops and Bermudas....  NOT flip-flops though...  I person could break their NECK with those things.....  oh never-mind.

This is a dilemma...  Crocs or sandals....  I'll bring both.

    It's warming up here....  !

    Hello Lurker!  You doing okay?

Oh Enerva....  Sheesh!  I thought that was my yard for a minute.... Ha!  I love that kind of stuff...  I've been putting things away for Winter....  Seems like Winter lasts a LOT longer than Summer around here.

Okay Nettie.... what IS he?  12?  I guess if he can see YOUR chest, you can see HIS!  Ha!  For a minute there I thought he was a perv in drag.... Except that pink hair is rather cute....   If he is YOUR friend, he is ours.....sort of.....

Well I must say a at first sight, it was a little disturbing. Lol. But I love how he is involved with the breast cancer community and awareness.

Also really like him as my doc.

Jumping in to ask how many Xanax are too much. I will probably find out where I'm randomized in the Kadcyla trial tomorrow. If I'm in the Herceptin only arm I'll just drop and do the Halaven trial instead (guaranteed to get it) but I really want Kadcyla and ugh I would feel bad dropping. I'm also worried about my EF dropping too much to do any trials (from pre-chemo ECHO to June MUGA it dropped 13%) and my right side is bugging me. Onc felt my liver and didn't feel anything concerning but still stressed.

What is Kadcycla?  Never heard of it.

Zj, it is a chemo or a targeted therapy, generally used in stage 4 cases, I think. I could be wrong, now it is in several  trials. I  would  jump at the chance to be in one of those trials. I will say something to MO, but I live in a rural area. .

Bad at usernames, no idea how much is too much, I have taken 3 in one day..., very small dose. Some days I would like to take a whole lot more, but I know they will not get refilled, so I try to be very careful & conservative.

    Morning Glories!

Okay Wren, I have some of those crocs... With little
holes in the top... Like Mary Janes! Quite appropriate for my age..... NOT!
Ha! But that's never stopped me yet....

22222222222! I love those shoes! No... I don't have any
    of those.

Oh Bad! Let's just call you Bad! Okay, my expertise in
    this area is rather lacking....

    I've never had a Xanax... so I don't know... Nor do I
know what EF is... Or even Muga.... I don't know why I'm even HERE! Ha, ha!

Sassy and HIO.....and few others know this stuff, so just
hang with us... And I like your "bad at user names" stuff...

Oh Yes Spookers.... I've been noticing all kinds of
Christmas things on display! That's supposed to get us "in the mood" you
    know.... to spend money.

So is everyone on vacation or something? A few of us need
some expert advice on here, and you guys are AWOL?

    Good Monday Morning Owlettes :)

Chevy and Spookie Thursday September 25th, 2014, Columbia restaurant in Celebration Florida, 12:30pm If that's right . It's on my calendar. :) The outdoor eating area has a covered roof and shade :) Weather each day is getting nicer to be outdoors at that time of day.

One time Badger and I met for lunch. We were a little loose with the specifics. She sat in one Cracker barrel and I sat in another one miles away. Thank goodness we both had cell phones. It cut into our visit time, but we did finally get together. :)

    -----------------------------

Bad @ User,  Hi welcome here :) Truly the legal answer is ask your doc. Generally, they will tell you to take one more in if one doesn't work. I'm not a fan of Xanax. It is widely prescribed. Over many years, I've seen people have more problems with it than the other benzo's. I prefer ATIVAN. Totally clueless about most Chemo drugs. LOL I hope to stay clueless, if you get my drift.

Bad, talk with your cardiologist. There are drugs that have a greater positive affect on cardiac output then others. Coreg for one. There was another one that came to market recently, but I forget it's name. DH's EF dropped from near a 60 % to 20% after a significant increase of his Statin drug(2004)

With Coreg, his EF came back up to 50%. It then dropped to 46%(2009-2010) after his first round of chemo. Which then changed  what choices he had for the next chemo.

Have no idea if EF has any hope of being improved by use of "positive Ionotrope" drugs after chemo.. LOL, Ah used to have to teach this stuff.  Haven't used that word in along time. Means contraction. A positive ionotrope drug improves contractibility of the heart and a negative ionotrope decreases the contraction.

So, specific question for the doc is "Is there a Positive Ionotropic dug that will improve cardiac ejection fraction after chemo?"

I'll throw that question at google and see if it pulls anything.

Well, I love the computer. There has been a new patent application for a identifying a chemical for  inhibiting Myosin Binding Protein-C. But it's in early mouse research. Not to human trials yet. It's would be a new class of drugs, if I read right. If it is, it will be as revolutionary as the beta blockers were in the 70's. Doesn't help us at the moment, but will in the future.

Bad, check back here still looking :)

Found and article on Coreg generic carvedilol and an Ace inhibitor use in improving mild dysfunction , my browser is giving making me crazy about not being able to copy links. Sorry.

    Good morning everyone!

Hope everyone has a good monday and week ahead. Tomorrow is my appointment and I'm taking loads of papwerwork with me from all my docs. I have to drive to downtown Dallas, not looking forward to that.

Anyway, just checking in. It seems kind of slow around here lately....sometimes it is just that way.

    love and kisses everyone

Oh man Sassy!  I did that once also!  Was supposed to meet the gals I worked with, and we were all there, just in different restaurants!  I ate alone, anyway....  I was so embarrased!

Okay....  We will meet!  Anything else happens to come up, just call my cell phone, okay?

And Cammi.... Do you have a CLUE as to what Sass is talking about?  And should we be concerned about anything?  I mean it sounds pretty technical.... completely out of my realm of understanding....  And she's seeing bats!  My girlfriend had a bat once....  Bought him a "bat-house" and hung it in the tree, so he would move his claim on her front porch.....  Never saw him again.

Good Luck Tang....!  and howdy Peppermint!  Good to see you!

you three who are meeting, eating and greeting, we EXPECT a pic of the four/five of you, that's including the dogs. Have Chevys DDtake a pic.

Tang, keeping fingers crossed that you get this figured out finally. Wishes for the best. Will be in your pocket tomorrow, keep us posted when you can.

I see both PS tomorrow and then make my choice. Hate this crap! Part of me wishes I hadn't lost the weight since that seems to be what caused all the problems. The other part is jumping up and down with glee about how skinny I look :) . Can't have everything apparently.

The rest of you be good! Or have fun.

Thanks ladies. I did take three Xanax in about a four hour period of time and damn, did I sleep better than I had in months - and I woke up to a much happier day.

Kadcyla, or TDM-1, is one of the up and coming things in Her2+ breast cancer treatment. It combines Herceptin with a chemo agent in a way that delivers the chemo directly into the cancer cells. It's been mostly used in the metastatic setting, but the KATHERINE trial, which is currently open to lower stagers who had an incomplete response to neoadjuvant chemo, is currently in Phase III.

Anyway, I just got word that I did get randomized to the Kadcyla arm! Also, that means that my EF (ejection fraction; the rate of which the heart pumps blood) is holding strong or else I wouldn't have been allowed to participate. That is a relief, as I have already had three cardiotoxic agents (Adriamycin, Herceptin and Perjeta).

My mom also came up with a diagnosis for my right side weirdness - a mild case of shingles. It fits most of the symptoms and I certainly am immune system compromised.

And my husband and I are celebrating out three year dating anniversary tonight. Funny that we never celebrated those before we were married, but now we feel like we should take any excuse possible for a celebration!

Bad, If it's shingles, get to the doctor. They can prescribe medicine that will make it lighter and shorter, but it has to be given at the beginning. It's miserable, so take action now.

And Bad, if you DON'T have them, be sure you get a shingles shot!  I had one several years ago, and so far so good!

Okay, so I don't know where else to ask this...so I'm just gonna throw it out here :)

If the doctor tomorrow agress that I need a biopsy, what are the other possible scenarios that this is NOT cancer? Just scar tissue that is invading my chest wall...but what about the lymph nodes that are slightly enlarged. PS said 1.8 cm, so not incredibly huge, but still swollen.

Any ideas on what else I could be dealing with? I'm nervous, but I'm trying to stay positive. I just can't imagine that this could be cancer when I just finished chemo! But what else?? I had fluid removed from part of my chest last month that came back negative for infection. Sick
