Shirley....I am so sorry about your hair. Do they say that it will come back someday?
-
I made a weekly photo video of my hair growth posted on my website BREAST CANCER SURVIVOR THANK GOD BUT I MISS MY HAIR. I had many visitors from this site who have viewed it and sent emails expressing their appreciation for my effort for which I have been deeply touched. However, I forgot to renew my domain name. You can now view it at www.lindasimon.ca

Hi ladies,
Just wanted to pop in and encourage all those waiting for their hair to sprout, be patient...it will happen.
My hair was long with curly ringlets pre-bc, it grew back curly but after several haircuts it is not as curly overall but underneath it is a huge mass of curls!
Here are some pictures of my hair growth.... #1 - 1 year prior to BC, #2 - last two treatments of Taxol, #3 - 7 months post chemo, #4 - 2009
-
Thank you for sharing those pictures Curlylocks! I just finished chemo last week and my head looks just like your #2 picture. I'm eagerly awaiting my hair to return! I had curly hair pre-BC so I'm curious to see what it's going to be like now.

Your quite welcome!
Congratulations on getting through chemo. Your hair will start to really sprout about 6-8 weeks after your last treatment. What a great feeling to have it come back! I swear my hubby was going to hide the mirror as I checked it every day!!!

I've read there's a HAIR HAIR HAIR thread, but where??? I'm about to start 4x Taxol after 4x AC, and I'm looking for hope over the impending loss of my lashes and brows, hopeful for inspiring pix!

I see only one post, from Shirley in 2009, that she didn't get her hair back after Taxotere. I'm now 9 months since my last treatment. I have SOME hair, but not very much. Oncologist said it just couldn't possibly be the chemo, go get my thyroid checked and see the dermatologist. I did. Everything is normal except my hair. Anyone else? I'm so discouraged. Didn't have a wig during treatments. I have one now.

Thank you so much for the photos of your hair growth. I'm at 10 months and don't have nearly as much
as you did. Do you have your normal hair back? Mine is so kinky, curly, and looks like a brillo pad. If you touch
run your fingers thru it, it seems soft though. My hair was blonde, layered and straight. I'm just having such a hard
time with this hair. I so want my old hair back. I know none of us will ever be exactly the same given all the treatments
and surgeries, but can I at least have my hair so I can recognize myself a bit in the mirror!!!

Hi Curlylocks,
I was just admiring your hair pictures.
I see you took Arimidex. May I ask how you did on that drug. Are you still
taking it. I'm having so many side effects but I'm also too scared to stop taking it. I'd just like to know how other women
are handling it besides the ones I read about on google or something. Most of it scares the heck out of me. Thanks!
ps: picture #4, how long was that hair growth??

This is me at 6 months PFC...
