Sitting here watching the news, and up pops a story about research into tamoxifen that can be rubbed into the skin, with fewer side effects. They're proposing it would increase the number of women who stick with it, and make life more comfortable. Wouldn't that be great?

That would be great as I only took it for a total of 8 months as it was affecting my quality of life. Thanks for sharing. I will be on the lookout for it.

I've recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and found out about the gel while researching treatments. I'm very nervous about tamoxifen so am very interested in this. I've been asking my doctors about it, so far no one has heard of it, but I'm going to an oncologist at City of Hope this week where they might be more in tune with new research and trials.

I asked my oncologist about this at City of Hope last week and he said that he'd been in touch with the head researcher at Northwestern. It's promising but unfortunately many years away from market. Too bad.

Sound promising but along way off. It's being studied on DCIS, not sure about IDC. I think I read it was being considered for high risk women also.
