A friend of mine has begun having intense itching at night all over her body. She began taking Tamoxifen several months ago. The itching seems to be worst a few days before her period and then pretty much stop after she starts her period. Anyone else experience anything like this?

I did and they switched me to a second generation drug; Fareston. But I have learned from my regular doctor that the chemo causes and unbalance in your body and eats up the good with the bad. I now have Overactive Yeast (Candida). They have prescribed an ointment to use. But I also balance by taking probiotics and changed my diet. I also quit taking Fareston because the risk was more than the benefit to me as I am a cervical cancer survivor too.

Dear readheadace1, if your friend is having these itching side effects, she should contact her Doctor for an appointment as the Doctor needs to determine if it is a side effect or other cause. Itching can be very disturbing and sleep depriving.

Please get her to contact her Doctor.
