Twoam-  Thanks!  I am actually pretty calm.  Watching the golf tournament unitl I gain control of the remote to watch a comedy!!!  I have been so fortunate through this whole process.  My dx was very early and I chose to have a PBMX because I just knew that I would have to do it again in the future on the other side (three of my cousins did).  I am excited about tomorrow...kind of like Christmas!!  I feel like I am getting these wonderful presents and I am just happy!!

Thanks for your wonderful thoughts and your support!!  Keep on keeping on!!

    Ally

Thanks to all the Ladies posted their experience.  It was much appreciated as I head to my exchange in September.

    Thanks, Lonnie.

Ally I'm so excited for you!  It is so great to get the one last big surgery done!  I'm amazed that I've only had a little soreness.  I don't even need my Norco.  I'll be waiting patiently to hear about your experience :-)

Juliecc- You look great! Brings it back for me. Even though you have moree cc's thatn I did we look about the same size gaging from your pics! Some of that upper pole fullness is swelling and will go down over the next four weeks( sadly)! I kinda liked it but you'll still be amazed and so happy when they change. Don't forget that also that anything your unhappy about later can be tweeked if neccesary. Reconstruction is rarely perfect but can be get pretty close! Relax and heal!

I had my exchange today! Tissue expanders were filled to 600cc and I ended up with 700cc ultra high mentor smooth silicone. She did some pocket work, pulled them down and together a bit. I get to take a shower tomorrow so I'll get my first peak and post some pictures on the picture forum.

I am looking forward to pics!

Twoam, I didn't have drains.  My PS said beforehand I had a 50/50 chance and if I did, they'd only be there a few days.

Sorry, Twoam!  I do know that drains are almost a sure thing if you are getting anatomicals.  Are you getting those?

Yes I am. Is there a reason why other then the alloderm?

I don't know.  I already had alloderm from the BMX.  I think with Anatomicals, more pocket work is needed to make them an exact, perfect fit.  More work = drains.

I'm guessing you'd only have 2 drains that would be in less than 5 days.

That is what he said. Im thinking that I will be so glad to get rid of the TE's, that the drains wont matter so much this time around lol.

I have round Mentors and I had 2 drains at exchange.

For those who were asking about my TE's several posts back, I just got off the phone with my PS's office....they were Mentor 550 cc and I was filled to 590 cc, and exchanged for 650 cc implants.

for all if you who have had exchanges especially recently so happy for you!

For everyone who has had exchanges do you find you can sleep on your sides after since they are softer? I wake up several times a night with pain in my TE area along with back but not sure if it's the weight of the TE or Somethjng else. Does this stop after exchange?

Are the implants less bulky? Mine are the size I would like but sometimes they get in the way because they are so hard and big with holding my son or even hugging someone. wondering if the softness really will be less interfering if that makes sense.

There is always discussion with TE size compared to implant size. For those recently exchanged how varying was the size both as far as how it feels and looks?

less bulky, sleep on side, not as tight.I could sleep on side after about 4=6 weeks of te too

babyo - those who have recently exchanged will not know what their implants will look like for several months.  There is some amount of swelling with exchange surgery that can take some time to decrease.  Most implants also relax into the pocket a bit (the drop and fluff you hear about) so they do change over the course of the first six months.  Implants often tend to sit more laterally so they project less and don't get in the way as much, and are definitely softer even if the implant is pretty big.  I had no problem sleeping on my side once not long after surgery.  My discomfort from TE that were expanded to 650 went away with exchange, for the most part.  I still get some pain between the shoulder blades if I walk more than 5 miles, and occasionally I get some pinching where the implant meets the ribs, but I am a bit short-waisted with large implants, so that is not surprising.

My new implants are very soft and I can lay on my side now.  They feel great!  I am going to continue to sleep on my back, though, for a few weeks because they appear to be very close together and my PS has me wearing a wad of gauze between them.  If I lay on my side, I'm afraid that will make them even closer together!  I'm sure others have the opposite problem.  My TEs were definitely too hard for side sleeping so I am happy I will be able to.

Babyo, just as SpecialK said, only time will tell how the final outcome will be for us newbies.  What I can tell you is my discomfort from the expanders has completely gone away. I'm beyond thrilled at how comfortable I am. The iron clad bra feeling is gone and I am one happy gal! I am amazed at how good I feel.

I started with 410s at about 350 in January and went back in May for lipo around my chest, and went to Allergan round 15s, 285. My right had always needed more as the cancer side took more tissue out. Saw the ps this week, he said he thought the lipo would make left the same. But right is smaller still. So in Nov will go back for bigger right, and finish a bit of lipo on left. Never thought I would actually care so much that they look ok, even as small as I wanted to be--- but I guess we surprise ourselves. He says there is still swelling 3 months later too- which I dont see but he is the expert. You have to try and be patient!

In comparing the size of my TEs to the size of my implants, I officially think that my 450cc TEs equal the volume and size of my 550cc Allergan Style 20 silicone round implants.  The implants might be slightly larger but not by much.  I'm happy I ended up with the 550s  :-)  When I first started all of this, and looked at pictures on the picture forum, I didn't think I wanted to go over 500.  I'm only 8 days out so I don't know what my final result will be.  Also, I always found it interesting how foobs look so much bigger naked than under clothing.

Julie - yes, definitely, the way they look in clothes is different.  Also, the difference between the bra size and the visual - as I have said I am a DD cup but look like a C, with 650cc implants.

I'll be excited to go to a real bra fitting in a month or 2.  I have soft Warner's wireless bras in a 36C that fit my new foobs well but I really think my band size should be 34 so I am probably a 34D.  I measure 32' around my ribs.  Anyway, I think I now have a nice rack :-)

that's good that they don't appear as big as the size as the thought if being a D is funny since I always imagined that as being big but also that is two cup sizes bigger than I was so just two sizes is huge! I knwo we shouldn't talk in cup sizes but that's how I get a visual.

Julie, what did you tell your PS you wanted the day of to get this size? Did you tell him you wanted the exact size you were, bigger or just let hjm do his own thing? Nervous about exactly what to tell him. Lol I want at meat the 500 with the most projection but want as close to this size as I can without going over much or under and want to look proportional even though I am 15 lbs overweight. Talk order eh! Lol
