Final Size After Exchange

I agree with Janet. Go cheap and stretchy - love the Genie Bra! Nothing I had from before fits me now, besides those. The TEs were shaped totally different, and I have to go up a cup size or two in order to get a good fit.
-
Are Genie bras to stretchy for after excange? My PS said to wear sports bras and didn't know what a Genie bra was.
-
I think Genie bras are just the right amount of stretchy! It might have something to do with sizes (and there is size info on their website). Like if you really should get a Large, but you get an XL, then maybe you'll think it's too stretchy. Also, they have removable inserts, and the inserts definitely make them more "structured." I was very happy with how I looked/felt in clothes with TEs when I had on a Genie bra with inserts. I'm also happy with how the Genie looks/feels with my implants.
And by the way, I tried the Genie bra when I had bigger natural breasts before surgery, and I hated it. Back then I always wore an underwire bra.
-
Are you happy with the end result or do your wish you would have gone bigger or smaller? Happy
How many ccs did you have in your TE before surgery and how many are in your permanent implant? Which brand? I had a 275cc Medium Profile Mentor TE filled to 300ccs - exchanged to 350cc Mentor Medium Profile Plus Smooth Round. I also had a Bostwick autoderm BMX (no alloderm) with a lift and IMF incisionsBody size - height, weight and ribcage size including frame type. 5'4, 118 lbs, 29 inch ribcage Bra size before and after so others can compare themselves with your final outcome. Before - 32D cup. Now - 32D cup measured at Nordstrom- sounds big, but doesn't look big on me! I had 200g of breast tissue taken out of each side at BMXHow have they settled after the swelling has gone down? I am just now noticing a "fluffing" but never noticed any swelling- I don't think anyone else will notice the fluff : ) ...Is the fullness or projection what they were when you had the TE or at least what you wanted? Fullness and projection are just right for me - probably about the same as the TE's or a tad smaller but so much more natural and comfortable. If not did your PS say what should have been done to make them the size you were looking for? My PS came was concerned about rippling with me so she brought in both high profile and medium profile plus implants in sizes ranging from 300-400. She used sizers on me and sat me up during the operation (so weird to think about!). I left the final decision up to her with the understanding that I did not want to be bigger than the TE's - told her to err on the smaller side. I am very happy with the results and do not have any rippling. I had a small infection this week at the sight of the incision and the doc is treating it very seriously. It is already much better. I have to wear an underwire 24/7 for the first 3 months.
-
I'm hoping they are supportive enough because I have 3 I wore sometimes with the TEs. All my sports bras are too tight and annoying. I also have a couple of really comfy wireless bras - Warner's 01298. Best bras ever for TEs.
-
I wouldn't buy one now
just curious what size I am and if it's something close to what I will be. I am only wearing sports bras untill its all done
-
maybe he didn't know what a genie bra was cause he is a guy
maybe I am wrong but may be right lol
-
Are you all wearing regular bras with your TE?? Mine sit far apart on my chest and regular bras just don't fit right. I've only been wearing sports bras if I wear a bra at all.
-
Baby, my PS is a woman with 20+ years experience. :-) Mishief, I usially wear a Genie bra, Warner's bra, or nothing.

Hi Community,Is there any plus size women who are doing exchanges? I am 5'3, 173lbs with a pre-opt size of 38C. My PS filled the TEs to 250 cc's during BMX surgery. As of today my TE's are filled to 525 cc's and can fill to a total of 650 cc's. They are very round looking. Just for grins and giggles I put on a non padded 38D bra and it fit perfectly. I know that the TE's are not like the final silicon implants. I've also been advised that the final result will be larger than my last cc amount for a tighter fit. I've decided that I want to be at least at 38D or one step larger. I'm going to hold off on any more expansions for the next month just to see if I like the current 525cc fill. If not, I will go for one more fill up to 100 cc's.
I'd like to hear from any other women who went bigger or wanted to and their results.
Thank you.

Hi Mischief46,I've only worn a bra one time and that was just to get a general size idea. I normally do not wear bra's at all with my TEs because mine also sit pretty far apart. I enjoy not having to wear a bra and hope after exchange I can continue to go without.
-
Mischief46, I wore a Coobie bra when I needed some coverage for nipples(I was a NSBMX) other wise I went braless. I played golf braless with my TEs when I wore a printed shirt.
-
I wear sports bra during exercise. Other then that, I go braless. If I wear something on the sheer side, I'll put a cami on under. I plan to do the same once I have the exchange. I will never buy another bra!
-
When I had my TEs, I wore Genie bras most of the time, or a similar kind of soft bra. Not for support, cuz they were like tennis balls, but more for coverage. Braless at work is not really an option for me. Now that I have implants, I wear a variety of bras. I have some unlined underwire ones that were recommended by Whippetmom, I still have the Genies, I have a ton of sports bras, I have some lacy scraps from VS. Right now I am on the hunt for a strapless bra that doesn't fall down, so if anyone has one they love, I'd be interested to hear what kind. The issue I have is that I don't have a whole lot of feeling in that area, so my bra is down around my ribs by the time I realize it's slipped. My PS does not care what kind of bra I wear, or if I even do - he says unless I want to wear one, I don't need to. Personally, I find I feel better with a little support, although he did tell me "those things aren't going south anytime soon." It is nice to be able to ditch the bra when I want to though!
-
I also dont wear a bra. Its great! Only wore sports bras after my original lx, but had to go back 10 days later for bmx, so that was that. My ps is very flexible about all that, doesnt really care if you do or dont. Only has you in a surgical wrap after the procedures until he sees you few days later. Actually when I went home from hospital after 2 days he took that off and didnt have to wear anything.
I originally had the 410s but didnt like them or the shape. He switched me to smaller 15 rounds, 286 cc. I admit even tho I am the one who pushed for smaller, they are a bit small. He put same on both sides tho thru fills and the original 410s the right side was more as it has more to fill after taking out the cancer. Not sure why he did that and will ask at my next appointment. I am the one who keeps saying no more surgery but am having a big of doubts now. But the exchange procedures were easy and good recovery. Had lipo on the second one and the bruising/recovery from that part was very difficult the first week.

Hi babyo20! I can totally sympathize with your size obsession. I was the same way... terrified of making a mistake! I'm just under 5'8", 135 lbs. I was a small B before my mastectomy. PS knew I wanted to be a bit bigger, but small enough that I could exercise comfortably and sleep on my stomach. I haven't slept on my stomach since my biopsy a year ago, but he assures me I'll be allowed to 6 months after my implants! He used Mentor ultra high profile 455cc implants. I had my exchange almost 4 months ago. I think he made a great decision with the size... as my husband says: any smaller and he wouldn't have been happy, any larger and I wouldn't have been happy.
I haven't bought any bras except for stretchy ones, so haven't measured my size. Staff lady at Nordstrom thinks I'd be a 32-34C. Make sure you communicate clearly with your PS what's important regarding your lifestyle. BTW, most days I don't wear a bra and it's awesome! Feel free to message me if you'd like to talk more. Good luck!

I went got my final full today. Have a 350 but was at 425 and love my size. Tried on bras although I know it's not totally accurate . I was a 34b but now can wear a 34 c which is what I wanted. I have been reason on these forums that implants are usually smaller, my PS said they really aren't but since they are softer they look smaller. So because everyone said to fill an extra 50 when you hit the size you want, although you don't really need to he said, I did. So now I am at 475 and am 5'4" and 130 but usually 120 and small frame. He told me that I was fine that if it made me happy do it but it wasn't necessary and although my skin is extremely tight I did it. He told me itbis okay like having a baby, skin can go back to its original tone but I don't want to harm the skin and what if he chooses a smaller implant will it damage the skin since it was stretched? I left the office feeling sure but now I am doubting it. I have been obsessed with making sure I am bigger than I was but now I feel like I don't want them bigger like they are now but I know being softer they won't be. What sparked this is my husband you'd me that I am huge and I don't want to be huge, only bigger, my husband said I am as big as my friend who is a DD but 5 inches taller but what does he know about boobs. So, how many of you went bigger than you were before and by how much? Do you regret that? If you were used to being smaller was orchard to adjust and did they get in the way of activities?
I guess if he asks me if I want to be conservative or as much as he can I am leaning towards conservative. I was so all over the place with him that I don't think he actually know what I want. lol I just told him make them look good for my frame.
Sorry I am consumed by this just as much as I was when I thought I was the right size. What happens if he under fills by using an implant smaller? Will it look weird or affect my skin or would it just look more natural?
Thanks for your responses. You guys have really been great to talk to here. My PS told me to stay off the internet! Part of me thinks he's right! Lol
-
Obabyo20, I smiled while reading your post. I had many of the same thoughts as you. I was filled to 550cc and decided just one more fill, just in case my PS could use the extra room. ;-) She's bringing in silicone implants from 550 to 700. I'm currently filled to 600cc. My exchange surgery is scheduled for 8/13. It's a little nerve wrecking since it seems so final and we want it to be the best fit possible!
-
I wanna be brave I love that screen name
What size are you as far as your body?
That makes me feel better knowing that maybe he can fill under like use less than 475 for mine if they look better. I just don't want to be too big or if he goes smaller have stretched out skin cause I went over what the recommendation was for the TE which was 350. Someone here sad they are obsessed with this too. It's too bad we don't all live in the same area we could help each other decide lol in person is very different than in pics sometimes you can get the right angle!
-
Babyo20 - You're going to look great. I think you need to relax and trust your PS to do his job. He wants you to look amazing and be happy with your results, just as much as you do.
Implants are similar to breasts in that they can look very different depending on what kind of bra you wear, or the style of your top. I have certain bras and tops that make me look much smaller - more conservative. But if I want to rock the cleavage and curves, I can do that too.
My PS told me that having extra skin is never a problem - it can be removed if needed. The challenge is when there isn't enough skin.
I agree that it's nerve wracking. It's such a long road to get to this point, and this feels like the final step to putting this sh*t behind you and moving on with life. I hope your exchange goes well, and your new look is everything you want!
-
BabyYo, I'm 5'4, 160lbs (medium size frame). I've put on about 20 lbs since last year and hope get back to my comfort weight of 140...eventually. PS will be bringing in Silicone Mentors (High Profile and Ultra Profile) with cc's ranging from 550 all the way to 800! I'm hoping she will settle somewhere between 650-750 range. She knows what I want and doesn't want to disappoint so I believe she will do her best to safely put me in that range....I hope.
Susan

I am 5' 2" 142 lb. I was a size 36 C before. I had SSNS BMX. The PS said that he had to fill up the empty skin. I ended up a 36DDD. Mentor Siltex high profile 750 cc and he lifted both sides. I will be having fat grafting for rippling. They look good, considering. I was left with very thin skin. One side feels very "rubbery". The thing that surprised me is how HEAVY the implants are. I can't even consider going braless. I wear one 24/7. If I sleep without one the implants fall to the sides and either rest on nerves or blood vessels and I wake up with my arms tingling. Before deciding on a size of implants, please consider the weight. Does anyone know if I will have a great chance of sagging since these are so heavy?
-
twoam-I hear you about not having the "popular" implant. I too have 410s and LOVE my result. I went against most if the opinions posted on this site. My implants are way wider than my TEs were. Here are my stats. 120lbs, 5'5-1/2", 30-1/2" rc, TEs 600cc & 14cm wide filled to 600cc, final implants 410s MF 640g, 15.5w. Had fg at exchange. Had 2nd round if fg yesterday. I have pics posted on the other thread, will post more after I can unwrap. I've been very happy w my results. I won't do nips but maybe 3d tats.
Hang in there all those pre-exchange. Of course you will obsess about size. We all want the exchange to be right the first time. So normal. Don't forget to keep breathing and appreciating all the good around. Peace all.
-
MCbeach - let us know how your second round of fat grafting goes. I am thinking of doing the same, as I can't even tell where the first round went anymore and I'd like to plump out some of my ripples. Glad you're happy with your results so far
-
MCBeach I will be seeing my PS tomorrow about FG I don't know what questions to ask. How much pain In your donor site? I am going to ask for some extra cosmetic lipo while he is in there. Just small present for myself. I don't have a waist anymoe. Darn menopause.
-
Lucky-my donor site was my thighs. I have 5 poke holes in each thigh. (I only had 2 in each thigh with the initial fg done w exchange). I stole and squeezed into my 12yo running capris as a compression garment. Much better w those. I am quite sore if I don't move around. Walking helps. I took a pain pill yesterday after Sx and one this am and this afternoon. I think I'll be good from her out tho. Chert is a bit sore but not bad. Feel free to pm me w any qs you may have.
-
MCbeach Thanks for the info. Does the PS take enough from the donor site to make any difference there?
-
Somehow I had lost this thread! Thank you MCbeach and sarahjane for the kind words
I decided to do 1 more fill. I am still under my original goal, but totally done, and fine with it.
MCbeach - My TE's are 133MX-12-T, and it appears we will try either the 525 or 470 MF. I am so much bigger then you though (5'9" 155") and I feel my TE is wide, uncomfy and under my arms. After exchange, do you not notice it as much?
-
mcbeach, have you noticed any decrease in size where your ps took the fat? My ps told me that there is a possibility of fat grafting for me with the exchange, if not it will be after. I want him to take it from my tummy, sides, upper back and my fat ass thighs!!!!!
-
twoam-What is your rc measurement? Mine is 30-1/2 so wide for someone my size. That makes all the difference. My TEs were 14 w, my 410s are 15.5w and there are great. Never had cleavage before now.
All my fg had been from thighs. They are a bit less chunky but not a huge difference. Sorry to disappoint but I don't think they take as much like lipo. Btw I just took a shower and now count 30ish pokes on each leg from the 2nd round of fg. Yikes!
