Grateful that DS got home safely from his trip
-
Thanks Cheryl.
Today I am extremely grateful for having a clear head again. ;-)
-
Red - Glad you are feeling better!Grateful for a weekend almost here and having no plans. Love my time at home to do as I please, mostly catch up on life stuff!
-
Thanks Nel.
August 1
I know I have been grateful for this before but - it's Friday!!! Enough said. Lol
-
Red I'm with you grateful it's Friday and yesterday grateful for getting a project finished and mailed then even more grateful after much going back and forth the client decided they wouldn't reprint and remail today cause the mistake they found was really small and they could live with it, yes they found it after I had mailed it, mind you how many people had proofed it before it got approved, sometimes they eye sees things that aren't there.
-
Grateful for our run of nice weather!

Finally decided to join in, as I saw 2 things this week I've never seen in my life, and they made me very happy. One - was driving along my gravel road & up ahead was a wild turkey family - mom, pop, 5 wee ones with spindly long legs and 1 teenager somehow got mixed in - all gangly and eating berries off the roadside. i stopped. they stopped. I started up slowly, so did they. I stopped, they stopped. finally they crossed in front of me & went into the woods. Hilarious.
then, I bent over to smell one of my gorgeous asiatic lilies, smelling, smelling then looked a bit to the left. On a horizontal flattish branch of my old evergreen shrub, not 2 feet from my nose, 2 adult garter snakes very gracefully getting some sun, kind of looped around each other, but very loosely. They both just looked at me, and me at them, for quite a while, without anyone moving. Garter snakes are common, here, and gentle, and I think these are living under my newly expanded deck and under the evergreen. They looked elegant, as though posing for a photo. I've never seen 2 snakes in what seemed to be utter peace and friendliness, just loopily sunning themselves together like that!

Welcome flannelette. Nice to see you over here!!
-
Grateful this am, for a lazy rainy Saturday, a good book on my night stand and because we are a rather funky family around the edges, for being here to take my 16 dd for what I believe will be her first tattoo. Very tasteful. In addition to the typical family milestones, this is one for our family as well. Her brother got one at 16, so dd is allowed as well. And if I am paying, I get to call the shots on what and where.
-
Grateful that DS's luggage, which did not make it home with him from his trip, finally showed up. Since he has some of our old luggage & didn't change the address information on it, the luggage showed up at my house, so I have the added bonus of getting to see him, as he will have to come retrieve it.
-
8/2- grateful for the ongoing rain, and for the fact I live on higher ground.
Flanellette- what a lovely description of the wildlife experiences. Welcome to our thread!
-
Flannel, thanks for sharing your nature experience. Your experience reminds me of a similar experience I had with a dragonfly many years ago. I have never forgotten the awe of my encounter with that magnificent creature. So glad you have joined this group.
-
Grateful for 15 minute ride on exercise bike today. My new record. No pain during or after. Yippee! Look out world; the OncoWarrior is making progress.
Also grateful for my DH who thoughtfully listened to my story about a recent experience and lesson learned with a friend who isn't. God Bless him.

Flannelette what a lovely description of nature. Today I'm grateful for some beautiful produce I just bought so lovely and fresh. Ruth I'll bet your DS is one of those nerds who was just at Comic Con....
-
Ha! How did you guess?
-
I watch a lot of Investigation Discovery and read a lot of mysteries so I put two and two together voila
-
Today I am grateful to have people who care for me enough to sit me down and talk to me about these stupid SE's and insist I, at the very least, write my doctor a letter. Thank you mom and dd2.
Welcome Flannelette. Nice to see you here. Loved your 2 nature stories. I had a moment this week too, when I thought I saw a piece of grass moving across the rest of the lawn. Bent right down close and realized it was a little baby praying mantis - no bigger than 3/4" long. So sweet.
-
8/3- grateful the rain held off last night for the first time in a week, so that I could go to my last outdoor jazz concert this season and hear some fabulous Brazilian music.

Grateful for a nice relaxing day
-
Grateful for nobody being at my swim hole at noon when I went swimming early it was so hot & humid. My bathing suit is ancient and seems to have shrunk! I also am a uniboober and don't bother with a foob in my flat side, so really like it when no one is around. I also saw a luna moth, sleeping, under a flower - first one I've seen in years.
-
I was just going to ask if you had been swimming this summer, grateful that you are
-
Grateful for a lovely get together with friends
-
hi ladies, have missed posting on here. Missed several weeks due to my dad finally admitting he could no longer care for mom himself and it was time for assisted living. As difficult as it was, I'm so grateful dad came to this decision as he wasn't getting much sleep, not eating well and he looked very frail. The process took a couple weeks including an ER visit the day before the move (UTI but she couldn't tell us that). Dad has a bit of relief but huge guilt.
Was keeping track of things to be grateful for, then it got to be too much. Am I welcome back here?
Have to share:
-
2nd time- it is never easy to make these decisions. We went through it when our mom came to the same place with our father, and then later we had to do the same with her. Guilt just goes with the whole thing, but that will ease with time. Of course you are welcome here and we are glad to have you back.
-
Grateful for a wonderful dinner with friends last night. She is a great cook and we laugh a lot! -
8/4- grateful to begin the painting job at my house today. A LOT of work to be ready for this, but by Thursday, it will be all done!
-
Grateful today for a lovely bbq with family last night. My niece and her children had flown in from New Brunswick, her big sister celebrated by having us all over to her house.
2TA, of course your welcome here. Sorry about your dad's guilt but happy your mom will be well cared for and dad can get some relief.
-
So grateful that my husband's sweet daughter came for a week-end visit. She is more or less a caretaker of her mom and seldom gets away. My husband's son stayed with their mom this week-end because he felt his sister needed a change. They are such compassionate young adults and spoiled in no way.
