One of the sweetest men alive!

Brigadoon, nightmare horror movies are based on.
Didn't the Nazis experiment with this too?
-
gardengumby and blue dalhia - Did you ever see the movie "Frances" with Jessica Lange and Sam Shepard? Great depiction of what you are talking about.
-
Or "Suddenly Last Summer" by TW?
-
I am sure the Nazis experimented with all of that. One of Dean Koontz's books uses that as a theme too, if you like his works. Don't remember which one now but I am sure it is easy to find.
-
Love Jessica Lange!
-
Blue Dalhia - Did you know that the 1936 Olympic facilities were hailed as the best in the world? The even had closed circuit TV. The designer was a Jew who was arrested and sent to a concentration camp and then to death right after the closing of the games.
-
Doesn't surprise me. My mom was a dressmaker and worked for Jewish people who had escaped the concentration camps. Whole families lost. Horror stories that weren't completely divulged to me because of my age, at the time.

Yes, the Germans thought they were good, righteous people too. Today they would be standing on the border "protecting" us convinced they were doing the right thing. The more things change - - - -

Language I learned from the Teahadists:
"Thug" = Code for the "N" word
"Terrorist" = Muslim
So, when a white person commits a heinous crime, like robbing a store or blowing up a planned parenthood facility, he/she is just a criminal.
And they say racism is over in this country...not by a long shot.
-
The movie Frances is the true story of movie star Frances Farmer (before my time) - lobotomy was a "new" treatment for mental illness - Rosemary Kennedy was a victim also. As for the St. Louis was so ashamed of the Canadian government (people) that is why it's so important to shine the light on discrimination whenever and wherever it happens.

News for the "Peanut" Gallery.......PD is a brain disease, and I have it! That's the problem with conservatives, they speak before they think!
-
Donna - yes "dog whistle" racism. Then there are the phrases...
Here are the top five of them used by Republicans used during 2012 POTUS election according to the New Statesman (sorry no link, I'm on a Mac):
5. (During campaign trip to UK) Romney would be a better President than Obama because he understood the "shared Anglo-Saxon heritage" that America and Britain have.
4. Barrack Hussein Obama - oh the images when using "Hussein"
3. Use of Georgia's 1956 state flag - in existence til 2003 (Confederate battle flag in part).
2. Invoking Ronald Reagan's "State's Rights" spoken in the South. (Federal imposition of the Civil Rights Act.)
1. Where's the Birth Certificate? (Yes, we're suppose to think of Africa - wouldn't have been done on the likes of John McCain or Ted Cruz....who actually were born out of country.)
-
Oh Blue - what are they up to now?
Did anybody post about the GOP Congressman and the yellow school bus? If so, I missed it. Hilarious. You have to get the audio (or video, if it exists). Just shows you how stupid and partisan they are about everything to the point they make fools of themselves.
Per usual - cannot post even a jpeg.

Hi Guys,
The movie "Frances" was on T.V. just a couple of weeks ago. I've seen it a couple of times. Love Jessica Lange and Sam Sheppard. It was horrifying what her mother and doctors did to her.
Just mowed my neighbors yard and one of his fields. He's on oxygen and can't do it, and his wife Betty was trying to do it with a pushmower. Geez .. these folks are in their 80's. I was glad I could help them.
Got a call last night from a doctor I work for. He is very computer-challenged. He can't figure out how to send me a voice file through email, so his new solution is to take the chip out of his hand-held recorder and mail it to me and I can plug it into my computer. So tomorrow he's Fed Exing a report to me. Isn't this just about the craziest thing you've ever heard. His son used to send me the voice files, but he's moved and the doctor has been taking them to Staples so their workers can send me the stuff. He's tired of going to Staples, so the Staples employee told him to just send me the chip through the mail. Very weird. I guess when I get a collection of these little chips piled up, I'll just mail them back to him.
hugs,
Bren

Quinncat, just my laugh of the day. hahahaha!
-
Blue .. what the hell ... did somebody make a stupid comment about Parkinson's? People shouldn't talk about stuff unless they really know what's going on.hugs and love,
Bren
-
Blue -- Who is that gorgeous guy? He's holding my cat!!!
Speaking of Parkinson's -- my niece is riding her bike in a 3-day race for Parkinson's. She has her whole family(and many friends) sponsoring her!
Quinn -- I read the other day that Malia and Sasha Obama are eligible to join the D.A.R. thanks to their Dad's ancestry on his mother's side. So Repubs, put THAT in your pipe and smoke it!
-
Gee, I thought conservatives only watched Faux News.....where you don't have to think and are just spoon fed whatever Faux decides to share with the sheep that day. Sigh !!!!
Plane has been shot down near Ukrainian border -- 280 on board as well as 15 crew members. Don't know how many might have been from U.S. if any. Terrorists.....Pres. will be blamed.
Jackie
-
CAC, Thank your niece for me!
Bren, someone made reference to my jellyfish joke....that I was making fun of people with brain issues. I have brain issues and it didn't bother me. HA!
Just read that Jackie. Worrisome!
The gorgeous guy with the gorgeous cat is Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead). I had a pic taken with him last year. What a darling man. He realized I had a mobility problem and walked to me for the photo. I love him!

-
Blue .. that picture is so cool. What a neat guy ... glad you got your picture taken with him.hugs,
Bren
-
Great picture Blue. After what you said about him....I love him too.
Jackie
-
Jackie I think they forgot this passage in the bible.
Leviticus19:34 You shall treat the alien who resides with you no
differently than the natives born among you; have the same love for him
as for yourself; for you too were once aliens in the land of Egypt. I,
the LORD, am your God. -
Blue -- I think they only remember the passages they like. And, judging by their actions, they really hate just about everything in the New Testament.
-
, C4C!
-
I really would love to know their response to this. I doubt we will not get one though.
-
Oh, their response is predictable. Blah blah blah, diseases like ebola and TB, blah blan blah, my ancestors came here LEGALLY, blah blah blah, not children but gangbangers or terrorists, blah blah blah, taking jobs from Americans, blah blah blah, we have hungry and homeless children to feed and house in the United States (like they support THAT), blah blah blah, I am not a racist. They HAVE no response that will make any kind of sense, but in truth they ARE hateful racists who hate anyone who isn't like them, who believe that people are poor because they lack morals and work ethic, and that the poor deserve what happens to them. There IS no discussion with them because they have no moral reasons to oppose helping refugees.
