Here's what cheezed me off today

I lost a very dear friend yesterday. He had cancer, diabetes and a liver ailment. Dead at 47. Love one another, people. Time is precious.
-
Sorry to hear this. Hugs
-
Just got a call that another friend passed away yesterday. He had been on the waiting list for a liver transplant, but never got the call. Can you be an organ donor after a cancer dx? Gonna crawl onto the couch and pull the blanket over my head. No phone, doorbell, TV or internet. Can't take any more right now.
-
Rohana - so sorry. Don't know if you can be a candidate as an organ donor if you have the C word. It brings to mind when Steve Jobs got his transplant. Gotta wonder.
Diane
-
Hugs Rohana. Lost my BIL the same way. Interesting question about being a donor. I know you can give blood after treatment.
-
I don't think you can be a donor. My sister's boyfriend died suddenly of a heart attack at only fifty six a couple of years ago. They had transferred his body to harvest some of the tissues they can use when they called her & inquired about some scarring he had. He had had an early stage melanoma removed many years ago and when they learned of this they had to release his body & not use it.

Hi folks, been off 3 weeks. I was going to take a break, but got banned before I could tell you , IT, and Chrissy's thread. I will be signing off all my housekeeping threads. No point in doing the work when I can't post without looking over my shoulder. Just as well, retirement should be less stressful.
Went to Moffitt Cancer Center for 2nd opinion consultation. Result. Wish they were the first opinion. They likely wouldn't have used RAI 131, but it's easy to say that after the fact. Still having major issues with the RAI. Specially skin --UGH.
Ro, Sorry for your loss (((((hugs)))))). Why does every place we go have at least one Nazi around. Your flag guy thinks he has a right to break the law. The rules are not law re: the flag. But he could be charged with all kinds of misdemeanors. I still laugh over the toilet in the yard. GO RO!
Ro, no clue on the donation thing, googling would likely help.
Melissa D Hello:) Learned to much to late
Wren and Spookie thanks for your thoughts on IT thread
-
Hmpfh! You went to Moffitt and didn't call. I'm cheezed. Sorta.
-
OH Spookie, SORRY. It was a fast over and back trip. I did go the night before , but late. Then back the next day. Yes, you have a right to be miffed. I promised to call and I didn't. MEA CULPA? -
weeeelllll, ok. Maybe next time, ok?
-
SAS. so good to see you back! Sorry about all the RAI crap. Too personal to ask about the skin issues? Please stay with us here. I'd be lost without you! Anyone heard from Rocky?
-
Hi Ro, the only place I post with Rocky is here ???????????????? Thanks about wanting to stay together, I feel the same way
Spookie, unless something comes up to mess things up, I will be over there July 9th. Lunch mid afternoon. I'm at Moffitt on the 10th.
-
On my calendar now. You have my phone. Ask DS for a nice lunch spot? Take my car an OnStar!
-
I am here... I am here says rocky lou :-). Okay, so here's some cheeze for the day.
I pull into a Costco gas station this afternoon and since someone is pumping at the back pump, I pull around to the front and start to fill. I look behind a few moments later after the person at the back pump has left and I see an old lady in a beater car with a temporary handicap placard hanging from her rear view and I think to myself... it looks like she could use some help. Well, being the Good Samaritan that I am, I asked her if she needed some help or if there was something I could do. She begins to yell at me telling me that I cut her off and took her pump. Mind you, the station is fairly empty and I'm thinking WTF?? I tell her I did no such thing and I was sorry for trying to help. She keeps yelling and telling me I was lying to her and that everyone knows I cut her off.
Well, of course I had no idea what she was talking about, but I calmly told her that she sounded like a very angry person and that she should really do something about her behavior. Oh boy, that ticked her off even more. She just kept going and going and of course I in turn just calmly said again that her anger wasn't doing her any good, etc. Anyway, this doesn't happen often where I live, but shit... I was thinking I was going to help this old broad pump her gas and instead I had to listen to her crap. Some people. Don't make me part of your bad day!
-
Rock, she sounds like a looney toon! Maybe she had run out of money after filling her tank and was mad she couldn't afford another bottle of Mad Dog 20/20! Your heart was in the right place even if her head was up her ass. That's one in your win column.:)
-
Flag out- check, stakeout set up- check. C'mon Flag Nazi! Stupid, stupid man!
-
rohanna, did you set up a camera? Inquiring minds want to know :-).
-
Rocky, nope. Got new BB's for the BB gun and a new battery for the stun gun! :-)
-
Our neighborhood freaks are inside for the summer. Just too hot to be trolling around, but come October... Bam they'll be back! So here's my cheese for the week... I'm trying to rent a house on VRBO or one of those places and I finally picked one (a feat in itself with my indecision skills). So I check their calendar for availability, make the phone call and I get a blunt rude lady telling me it's not available. So, it takes me a day to get over it and then I e-mail someone else about their property and I get the same response. WTF??? Why do these people spend so much time putting their home online, taking tons of pics, etc. and show the effing calendar open for my dates and then when contacted say nope?
I wonder if they are just fishing to see how many people would contact them and they really weren't completely interested. Well, anyway... it's cheezing me off! I really don't want to stay in a hotel for the week and it's getting closer and closer to the end of the month when we leave.
-
Rock, what a pain in the butt! Hope you find a rental soon.
Hope everyone had a happy 4th. The flag Nazi didn't dare show his face. *sigh*
-
Where is everyone?

hiding in the a/c trying not to melt?

Hi everyone, Getting used to new computer. LOL with it.
Spookie and I got to spend some time together at my DS's in tampa. Lovely time yesterday.
Highly recommend Hewlett Packard x360. Loaded with Microsoft 8.1. It can be used as a notebook mode, stand mode, tent mode, tablet mode. Beats Audio. I can use touchscreen, mouse, keys all at the same time without changing anything. Only 400$. I am so happy my last computer fried.
Saw thyroid doc at Moffitt Cancer center in Tampa. My Papillary cancer is now considered by the top echelon of researchers to be considered a "normal abnormal variant". Translation is it's so common that eventually when the research is published the recommended treatment will be "watch and wait" not RAI-131. But I had already been given the radioactive iodine. For me it's an "OH well" moment. Lesson ---seek the top researcher in the field who knows about all the worldwide research going on that's not published yet b/c their research isn't done yet. My treatment with RAI is the today standard, but in his words based on the ongoing studies it's 20 years out of date. It takes along time for changes in accepted treatments to change.
Hope everything is well with you all

rohanna, I did find a rental, but to took forever. I ended up about 3 miles from my mom's home. Good and bad. She's been having problems with her home and also some physical stuff so I get to check in and see how things are. Parenting a parent from one state over is tough. I'm a bit concerned that she is going t have to do assisted living soon which means closing down her house and moving her closer to me.
You have your flag Natzi and have have a couple of lonely effed up old broad neighbors. I have one lady whose 70 and nice as she is, I know she wants to be friends. The unfortunate thing is the way she wants to be friends is to share with me crap from the homeowner's committee private meetings/letters. Sometimes this is fun, but other times it is so childish that it's hard to believe this is what these losers do a few times a month. A few days ago, she cut and pasted a letter from the old hag to show me for fun. Of course it was nasty to many in our neighborhood and there were some nasty inside comments made about my house (which is one of the prettiest in the hood). Anyway, I told miss 70 year old that she doesn't need to send me that stuff. Her comment was that if I was mad enough, I would run for committee and change things. I have no desire to deal with those people regardless of wanting things changed. Anyway.... just pissed off about it. I had to muster up all my grown-upness and not verbally retaliate. As we all know, that's not easy.

Glad to hear that you're back on the airwaves, SAS. I feel the same way about the "non-invasive cyberknife cancer surgery." WTF? Meanwhile, my boob looks like a deflated balloon after a knife fight (Non-cyber)!*sigh*
Rock, once again we're twins. I'm going through the same with my Mom. It's so damn hard and her dementia is getting worse. Getting old sucks! Meanwhile, word must be out to the neighborhood Nazis to avoid me. Word of mouth can sometimes be an awesome thing. Meanwhile again, I found my pink flamingos where my husband hid them in the camping gear. ( Clever SOB, I never go camping!) Those plastic emblems of good taste are going into my lily garden tomorrow! HAH!

Ok, I'm cheezed about the new breaking news exercise study on BCO. They find it surprising that stage 3 & 4 women aren't exercising enough? Do they wonder if endless tests and appts affect amount of exercise? Can every woman afford a personalized assessment by a certified trainer? And black women exercise less than white women - did they consider financial issues? Ugh!
-
Do they consider I have less than 3 hours in the evening before I start getting ready for bed, or that I don't feel safe walking in my neighborhood, or that it is 110 frigging degrees here for months...
-
No common sense involved IMHO.
-
Somebody should put their name and cancer in the same sentence, see how much excercise they can do!
-
I agree. With all the SE's from the AI's, I can't exercise even if I had the time or energy. Just pisses me off!
