Lisa- yes! You're the one who said it. I love that quote. I'm so glad you shared it on here. I hold on to it often.
-
Love it Lisa! You rebel!!!
Like I said on FB, love how we are in the same position....wouldn't it be fun to get each person doing this and make a collage? I started with us!!
-
jkboland and chico, congratulations! Jb, you look so beautiful in your wedding! Wish you both have a long and happy life together!
Lisa and missy, nice pictures!

So many wonderful photos and celebrations!
Lisa- you are getting more dark hair!
Missy- I have been scrunching the curls with a stiff hair gel. Heat Miser stylin'! I have always had pin straight hair, love playing with the curl!
Jbok - congratulations! Simply beautiful photos!
Chico - congrats on being done! Time to find a way to pamper yourself and celebrate life!
If I have missed anyone, I apologize. I still have to scroll to keep track and the page changed. Looking forward to being done with rads in the 10th. I have 3 appts that day...MO, RO and PT.....
-
Yay! Chico!! Woohooo!
Lisa, think of it this way. You ONLY have four weeks left! Remember in December we thought we'd never see the end of this. JUST FOUR WEEKS!!!!! You can do that standing on your head
Jbokland, you look so beautiful! Congratulations! What an amazing partner you!
-
P.S. My nipple itches!!! AAARRRGGGHHH!!!! 3 more full area just 3 more. Hang in there nipple!! Hang in there!! -
Djj.......hope your nipple hangs in there....(never thought I would be saying that!) Maybe there is a benefit to not having a nipple any more....it doesn't itch!
-

And Lulu is gonna have the biggest second birthday on December 10th ever lol. Already planning it- don't be a grinch, someone in Whoville is turning 2! guess Who?? It's Little LuLu that's who!
Her first one was the night before I left for MD Anderson. I am stating now that will never happen again:).
27 days and counting:). Big hugs and love ladies!!!
-
nice collage! For the ladies still on treatment, wish you all the best!
I am done with radiation today!!!! I couldn't help but cried when I was lying there and getting zapped for the last time. A lot of emotions going on. It is a long journey and I am so grateful of finding you here. I joked with the nurses that my summer starts today. My sister and her kid will come and visit me in two weeks. So excited and look forward to having fun with them.
Take care and good night!
-
CONGRATULATIONS J4DC!!!!!!! Let the summer begin!!!!
Jodi, the birthday party sounds perfect! Your girls are lucky to have you!
Please add more pictures so i can add to the collage!
Good Night ladies!
-
good morning warrior ladies. A video for ya all before I head to radiation. Hope I shared it right. Jodi, this flash mob dance needed you there
-
Chico & J4DC - Congratulations on finishing Rads. May you both heal up quickly over the next couple of weeks.
I have been following your posts, but can't remember if I responded the other day....
Lisa - I couldn't pull up the video.
Oranje - Love the birthday party idea for your daughter. What a rough Christmas.....
Chico - How do I add a picture to the collage?
Oh, I started the Journey Into Healing class last night. The topic was stress reduction... important for cancer patients to try to eliminate as much as possible. This one is going to be a hard one for me, can I make the three men that I live with move out? LOL
Have a great day ladies.
Kim
-
Kim- that class sounds so neat. Is it offered through a hospital?
-
Chico & J4DC. Wonderful that you are done, now enjoy your real summer
Sitting waiting for port flush. Just realized I forgot the numbing cream
-
Kim, just add a picture on here and i will save it or you can email it to me at missy6758703@yahoo.com and i will get you added!!
Speaking of classes......i got talked into joining a yoga class that our cancer center offers for free each Thursday night at 5:30. I know I know...its supposed to be good for you etc etc....but this chubby girl is completely out of shape and have ZERO flexibility and grace is not my strong point.....I trip over my own feet, how am i supposed to howl at the moon? ugh....the things i get myself into.
Namaste! (whatever that means.........)
-
Kim, I couldn't open it either from my post, oh well. It was from the breast cancer awareness Facebook page and breastcancer site.com. A flash mob dance dedicated to breast cancer survivors. Sounds like a nice class Kim and lol about the men in your life
Michelle, you're so funny, love your posts! I didn't get yoga at all in the beginning. All this slow moving, stretching, mind body stuff but the past few years I have totally embraced it and now often feel that I "need to go" when feeling low or stressed or just need to stretch. I know this downward dog thing is weird, but warrior poses, that's you already in your mind so now just try the movement. Just go with it and make it whatever you want it. Embrace the gentle stretching, or just the breathing part, or just the music or the meditation. My yoga instructor says it's like a buffet, you can't eat everything, just pick what you want or looks tasty that day, or you can always try a little of everything! And then afterwards...you go out for a drink, or dinner or dessert. That's my fav part of sat yoga at 11am, lunch afterwards with girlfriends
J4DC, congrats...yes let the summer begin :-)
-
I was deflated today....went from 800cc to 250 so I can get ready for rads. All I can think of is the old Carol Burnett Show where she played an aging Snow White and her boobs were oranges hanging in pantyhose. Lovely!
-
But i bet it feels like a big weight has been lifted off your chest!!!
Literally!!! These suckers are heavy!
-
great collage ladies! Congrats for finishing rads!
-
Holli - It is offered through the integrative health doctor at my hospital. I think most large hospitals these days have an integrative health department. I really like the concept of mind, body & spirit all working together for healing. Don't get me wrong, I will continue to take my medicine and believe that it is necessary.
Michelle & Lisa - You are motivating me to take a yoga class. I have been hesitant about taking one due to the mastectomy and lymph node issue. However, my hospital is offering yoga for cancer patients too, maybe I should try it out....
jbokland - How many rads and when do you start?
cenri - Pretty picture
J4DC - Hey I think I might of forgotten to tell you congratulations on finishing up rads. I hope that you heal up quickly.
Just you wait until you see my 4th of July outfit.... I will be attending my son's White Trash party and let's just say my attire will be patriotic.....
Have a great day ladies.

Congrats to those of you who have finished rads! YAY!!!
My hair is coming in curly. So easy to care for!
I hope you all have a HAPPY and SAFE Fourth of July week-end! God Bless America!
-
I love the collage!
Congrats to those have finished rads!
I'm heading to number 23 today!! My last full area one. Then my poor nipple can heal. RO says the boosts will miss the nipple, Yay! Those of you that have been done for a bit. How long did it take for your nipple to feel a bit better. My breast is red and tender but not to bad. It's just my nipple that is sensitive.
Tonight is my first date!!!! Drinks and then Thai food. Fingers crossed it goes well.
Have a happy fourth of July! Go America!
-
well I'm a bit envious of everyone so far ahead of me. I have 33 on the horizon.
-
djj, I had the nipple sensitivity, too. I think it took several days for it to calm down. But, like you, my boost missed the nipple. Once your boosts start, the rest will start to heal quickly. Have fun on your date! You are an inspiration!
jbokland, don't worry, we'll be here for you every step of the way!
holli, I hope you're feeling better.
kim, yes, please post a picture!
I am looking online for sources of information for help with the "after affect". There are days when I completely "forget" I have BC and when I do think of it, I don't really worry, because I know I will get through it. Not that I will ever really forget, but it's not always at the forefront of my mind. But, then I second guess myself and wonder why I am not more concerned than I am...? Am I in denial? I don't even know what to think anymore...maybe I should just quit thinking!!!
((HUGS))

Mapping and tattoos today with the real deal starting next Thursday. So glad to be starting. Congratulations to all that are done. Can't wait to join you. Looks like I may get 1 week of treatment free summer enjoyment before Labor Day provided there are no delays.
