Thanks for the hugs! I am getting taxotere, herceptin, and perjeta every 3 weeks. After 3 taxoteres we will probably do scans to see how it is working. The other 2 will definitely be given for a year.
How have you been doing....keeping very busy I imagine! How are the grandchildren?
-
Wow, powerful trio of drugs, they will definitely kick that cancer to the curb!! I took taxotere, and I remember my onc saying that this drug alone is so powerful!!! My grandchildren are wonderful , thank you for asking!! Running after them is great exercise, he, he, he!!!
-
Kindergarten.....are you and your dh still doing a lot of walking and biking?Hope that you are having lots of nice weather out there to enjoy.
I went in for another neupogen shot today....still took the stairs!
Will get another one tomorrow and then I will go in on Fri and have another lab drawn...might still need another one....Ouch....that is a stingy shot! I didn't feel too bad today...was able to eat pretty well. Am thinking I might have a cup of green tea tonight before going to bed.....Am thinking of tenaj as I type that!
Good night and have a great day tomorrow........judy

Good Morning Ladies,
Jaytee, you have been through so much and continue to go through a lot. I really struggled going through chemo. It sounds like you are a tough cookie. Keep up the fight! We are pulling for you.
My seasonal allergies have been really bad. I have had itchy eyes, ears, nose and throat, along with sneezing and headaches. It has curbed my walking in the evenings. I need to do some exercise in the house where it's air conditioned. My DH changed all the air filters too. I'd rather take walks with my pups, but right now I will have to suffice with my exercise bike.
I also have more company coming for the next two weekends. That gives me a workout!
I hope you ladies have a lovely day and find something that brings you joy today.
-
Good Morning dear ladies!
Green tea! I love it Judy!! I make it & don't even have to add agave or sugar!! I make extra now in the mason jars & keep it in the refrig for when I want something cold. Which is what I need with the heat we are having. Crazy, crazy weather.....looks like the summer weather is finally here. Kathy, how is California doing with the drought??
Rocket, my allergies have been quiet for a few decades now, (lol...boy do I sound like I am getting old!!) BUT, this year they are off the charts!!
Jaytee, I wish I lived near you so I could give your injections & you would't need to go to the office so often....Hang in there, you are doing great. Make sure to stay extra hydrated!!! (((hugs)))
-
Thanks Rocket.......all I know is to just keep taking it one day at a time....that and a lot of people praying for me, for which I am very grateful.
It has been a terrible allergy season where I live too....dh has been having a rough time with his. I hope you will be feeling better soon....we wait through a cold winter for the warm days to come and then allergies drive us back inside...something very unfair bout that!
Hi tenaj! I think after the next treatment...they are going to give me neulasta instead so that I only have to come one day .....the good thing is that the oncs office isn't too far away.
I love iced green tea also....think I will make some today too. I like it better than regular tea anymore. We have been hot and humid here too. Lot of rain last night...hoping it cooled us down a bit and maybe washed a bit of the pollen away.
Nice to see everyone this morning...have a wonderful day! And will be looking for the joy!
(sometimes it comes in surprising ways)
-
Hi, All!! I hope you are all enjoying your summer!! Jaytee, hubby and I finally took a long bike ride yesterday and walked today!! I hope the neupogen is easy on you!! Keeps your white blood cell count high, but I am sure it stings!! You are an inspiration!! Rocket, I hope your allergies simmer down, so that you can walk your cute pups outside!! Enjoy your company!! Tenaj, we do need rain badly!! Love keeping in touch with you all!!
-
good morning ladies! Beautiful summer day here! Yay!!! I hope to take another bike ride today. I actually took 2 this week already, 6 miles each, made it & will try to increase it next time. My route along the water has some trees for shade so I like to take this certain route. Hard to believe that it seemed like only a few weeks ago it was too cold & windy......now I'm trying to avoid the extreme heat!
Have a wonderful weekend! Feel well & enjoy every moment! (And don't forget to drink lots of water & green tea!!) ((((hugs)))) Janet
-
Hi kindergarten and tenaj.....the bike rides sound so nice! Hope you continue to get nice weather.
My wbc took a real hit this week...at the labs on Tues it was only 1.2. That's the day I started the neupogen.....yesterday was the worst, I was so achy in my legs...spent most of the day on the couch or recliner. Went back in today for another lab and wbc was back up to 5.4....that was good news for me..I felt so much better and didn't need another shot!
tenaj...I got my China tea cup down to have some green tea the other evening. I had bought both myself and my daughter a pretty tea cup years ago in a wonderful little coffee/gift shop. It was the cutest little shop...you didn't dare make any quick movements in there because it was just loaded with knick knacks...figurines...tea cups..you name it and she had it in there! Those cups just usually sit on the hutch....think I had to empty it of some paper clips or something....anyway..it just made tea time a little special! Also..I am thinking of using the iced green tea as the base for a fruit smoothie instead of fruit juice. Will let you know if it works well.
-
Judy, it is sooo nice to use our "special" things! Let us know how the iced green tea experiment goes.
Kathy and Janet, great to hear about the exercising. I've been feeling better and doing some long walks.
Rocket, enjoy your company!
-
Hi, Everyone!! Tenaj, I Enjoyed a cup of green tea this morning!! Tammy, enjoy those long walks, they are so refreshing!! Jaytee, what a great idea to use green tea as a base for smoothies!! Rocket, have a great weekend with your company!!
Hubby and I took a walk this morning!!
-
Hey Gals,
Our company leaves tomorrow, but we have had a really nice time with them. I am getting a little break as they are out for the day. I'm trying to catch up on laundry, but what I really need to catch up on is sleep! I don't sleep well when I know I have to prepare breakfast for company. I'm always afraid I will oversleep.
It's pretty foggy here this morning, but we walked yesterday at the park and a nearby waterfall. It was lovely. My house is so quiet now, and I am really enjoying it.
I think you have inspired me to make some iced green tea. That sounds really good right now. I too am interested in the smoothie experiment. Let me know how it works out.
Have a lovely day everyone!
-
Hi everyone! Well, first try on a green tea smoothie wasn't too successful...used too much I think and am thinking I should have used some yogurt in it. I am going to look up some recipes and try again.
Rocket...enjoy your peace and quiet.....your walk yesterday sounds so beautiful..I love the sound of running water. Sounds like you live in such a beautiful part of the country.
Going to work a few hours today...I feel much stronger this week than last! Take care everyone and enjoy your day.
-
Hi, Rocket!! I am sure you have enjoyed your company!! The walk by the waterfall sounded wonderful !! Jaytee, please let me know what green tea recipes you like!! I am so glad that you are feeling stronger!! I hope each day finds you stronger and stronger!!!
-
good morning ladies, I wrote this long post yesterday & for some reason it disappeared.....oh well..
Jaytee, glad to hear your feeling better & were able to go to work. I purchased my organic green tea & mango green tea by Touch Organic from Marshall's. You can buy it on line also, it's very delicious, no sugar or agave needed! When Marshall's didn't have it one time when I needed it I ordered it through Amazon.
Rocket, I hope your relaxing after your company. The waterfalls sounded beautiful!
I am off the rest of the week & am enjoying my RV backed up to the ocean. So beautiful & peaceful. Keeping track of my steps with my new phone. Our dog loves to walk & socialize....
Kathy, how's your bike rides? Keeping busy with the grand kids?
Hi Tammy! Hope all is well with you.....
Have a great day!
(((Hugs)))
Janet
-
Hi, Tenaj !! Just visualizing your RV backed up to the ocean! How wonderful!! Enjoyyour time there!! My husband really wants to buy one! The problem we have here is where to park and store it!! We live in a condo now, no room to park it here! We are going to rent one, possibly this summer to tour some canyons!! We took a long walk today, and hope to ride bikes still this week!! Then walked the mall with my granddaughter and her little friend!!
Hugs and Blessings to you all!!!
-
Good Afternoon Ladies,
I'm back in the real world & work today...I miss the sound of the waves crashing & birds singing their songs.....I return in early August for another week!
I am back on track today. Lots of water, green tea, fruit & yogurt for lunch & protein drink for bkfst. I will not get on the scale for a few days, I don't want to see the damage....
Thinking about you dear ladies & hope you are feeling well & enjoying....I hope to get a bike ride in tonight if the T-Storms stay away....
-
Hi, Janet, Jaytee, Rocket and Tammy!! Good Job, Janet!! I am also drinking a Protein Smoothie every day!! It really starts the day in a good way!! Hubby and I are now babysitting our 3 month old Grandaughter until further notice!! My daughter in law just went back to work after a 3 month maternity leave and their on site daycare at work unfortunately did not have an opening yet!! There was a mis communication as to when our Addy could be placed! They have been on a waiting list for almost a year now!! We love it and take her for walks!! The neighborhood here has hills to walk up!! Pushing the stroller up these hills is a good workout!!! Hoping to start losing weight again on a regular basis!! Have a great day, everyone!!!
-
I'm staying in a hotel for work and just held a candy bar in my little warm hand.....I then put it back and didn't eat it.....I AM VERY IMPRESSED with my self control...........
Kathy, we can lose weight....we will lose weight....
(((Hugs))) to everyone
-
great job Tammy! I'm all in on the weight loss train!
Have a great day everyone.
-
Tammy, I admire your Will power!! You are awesome!!!
-
Hi everyone......just checking in this morning. Hope you all are doing well and will have a wonderful 4th of July with your families and friends. Had my second treatment yesterday and not feeling too bad today...I will go in for a neulasta shot this afternoon though. Haven't had much of an appetite...they gave me some Boost protein drinks to take home yesterday...going to try one for lunch. I have been eating a lot of fruit though...that is one thing that still tastes good to me.
Tenaj....the mango green tea sounds so good! And so did your RV by the ocean! How nice to fall asleep and wake up to the sounds of the waves..sounds heavenly! The way that time seems to be flying this summer, it won't be long and Aug will be here and you will be there again !
Tammy....that was awesome will power! By the time a candy bar is in my hand, it is usually too late!
Keep up the good work...every little battle won is progress! The treats that are so enticing are such quick rewards...losing the weight takes much longer but it sure feels better in the long run.
Kindergarten....enjoy the time with your grand daughter...those baby days go by so quickly.....they do love going on those stroller rides so make the most of that! What kind of protein smoothie do you make...using protein powder? I haven't experimented with the green tea smoothie again yet but have a recipe for one made with frozen peaches....need to buy some...Will tell you what it is like when I do. I also want to get a sprouter and try broccoli sprouts to put in salads...could probably use them in a smoothie too...they are supposed to be a good cancer fighter. Will you have fireworks out there or is it too dry and dangerous for them. We are having the opposite problem here..lots of Thunderstorms...though the weather should be good for tomorrow..much cooler and less humid. Have a great day today and tomorrow!
Rocket...hope you are feeling better these days. Thinking of you today. Enjoy your day tomorrow. Will you have company or just a quiet day? It's just going to be us and son and daughters girlfriend and boyfriend and my sister. She is going to stay over and help make some easy meals to put in freezer.
Take care everyone and lots of love to you all!
-
Hi, there, Jaytee!!! Hope your 2nd treatment's effects go smooth and easy!! And kicks that cancer to the curb! Sounds like you are going to have a great 4th with family and friends!! We are having a celebration with family as well, and so far the fireworks are on for the evening, but yes it is dry and warm!! Have a wonderful 4th everyone!!!
-
Sorry, Jaytee, I forgot to tell you about the Smoothie! I nought a Nutribullet!! I put lettuce,or kale, assorted fruits, half a box of liquid protein drink and some spiralina!! It is yummy!! Be careful in those thunderstorms!! Hugs and love yo you!
-
Those nutribullets work great don't they! Much better than a regular blender for using the healthy greens in a smoothie. Have a little bit of kale in the garden that I need to be putting in mine. I was able to drink more than half of a boost protein drink for lunch today...I did add some banana and other fruits to it...not too bad.
-
I do love the nutribullet! I get my greens daily! Then I can cheat the rest of the day, he,he,!!! I always cut up a banana, too!! Have a great weekend!!!
-
Happy 4th to everyone!
Jaytee, hope your feeling better & all goes easy with your 2nd treatment. As far as the boost is concerned, I have heard from the patients I care for that it tastes much better when it is very cold....Keep drinking lots of fluids to flush everything out. In earlier posts, I was telling the girls about a protein drink I make with organic milk from GNC (pure edge). It has pure cocoa powder in it without any sugar or additives to it. It tastes like your drinking a chocolate milk shake. I drink it for breakfast 3-4x/wk. Very easy when I'm working. It holds me off without hunger well past noon! (Which is not easy to do) Rest & feel well ((hugs))
Kathy, sounds like you are having fun with the grand kids, ENJOY!! The thoughts of being a grandma one day is inspiration to keep taking good care of myself, I want to be here for a while.
Enjoy!
-
hi, Tenaj, thank you for the reminder about Pure edge! I saw the Pure Protein drinks at Costco, and thought that was the drink you mentioned! As soon as I finish these, I will head to GNC! We are enjoying watching our youngest grandchild!! She is so good! Hubby and I are a tag team! You will be a wonderful grandma!!! Jaytee, Rocket, and Tammy, have a wonderful 4th!!!
-
Kathy, I love the tag team reference.....my DH & I were like that with our kids & now like that in the kitchen!
-
Thanks tenaj for the tip about pure edge...I will look for that too. I did chill the boost...got more than half of it down! I felt pretty good today...maybe it was just being busy and having a little bit of company for the day. The weather was incredibly nice too...no heat and humidity which is usual for July 4th! I had the neulasta shot on Thurs and haven't had the bone pain like I had with the neupogen. Thanks for the hugs and sending some back to you and kindergarten too! Goodnight...enjoy the weekend!
