Thanks Kathy, I did finally go for a ride. It was still a bit cool but really enjoyed it! My bike is better than new with the tune up. I don't think it rode this well when I first got it. Funny story.....I went to see The View about 5-6 yrs ago & they gave a bike away to everyone in the audience. We had to pay $75 for shipping but it's like a $600-700 bike. :-) lots of fun....I don't think they give things away like they use to.
Have a great week dear ladies!
-
wow, that is so neat that you got the bike as a give away!! I have two friends who won a bunch of stuff on Oprah!!! And it sounds like a great bike !!! Enjoy and have fun!!!
-
Hi!!! Wow, everyone seems happy..... Lovely to read....
-
Hey Tammy, how's everything with you?? We finally have some normal temps for us!!
Update...I decided to cancel my appt with the breast surgeon. YAY! one less appt!!!! My MO & GYN are following me closely. The office said it was OK if I was OK with it...really???? After last years appt I feel like they just wanted the copay!
Have a wonderful day all !!
-
Happy news, Tenaj!!!! Happy Spring, everyone!!!
-
Beautiful day here in the mountains! We finally have some dry weather. My DH and I are having all of his students over for dinner tomorrow night, so I am getting busy preparing for that. We will have 22 people here. I enjoy meeting the kids he teaches. Funny thing is that they are all younger than our own children. When did that happen? Feeling old.
-
Quick hello to you dear ladies! Hope all is well & you are enjoying! Woke up at 4am to wind & ice pelting the house!! Woke up to almost an inch of snow/ice on the deck. Crazy weather! It's been very busy with the upcoming wedding.... We leave for Boston in 2 weeks. So excited! I'm still striving every day to take good care of myself, lots of water & healthy food choices. I need to exercise more to see better results....working on that too....
-
hi, Tenaj!!! The wedding is in two weeks, how exciting!!! Enjoy every minute!! You all have had enough bad weather! Be Safe!!! May you all have A Very Blessed and Happy Easter!!! Love and Hugs, Kathy
-
Hi Kathy, A Blessed and Happy Easter to you also. It is quite a different Easter at home. The children are away & our parents are no longer here...very quite. It's a new way of life that I am learning, and at times having difficulty with. I lost my mom & mother-in-law right before I was diagnosed & then within a year my father-in-law passed. This May will be 3 years since my diagnosis.....I treasure the wonderful family memories but struggle at times with the emptiness. I miss the holiday traditions....I will have to start some new ones...And I do look forward to that. :-)
(((hugs)))) Janet
-
Hugs to you, Janet! Absolutely, you will start new traditions!! I know, we used to have big celebrations back East, and even though our sons, their wives and our grandchildren are here, they split their time with their in- laws now! We will have dinner here, and whoever can come will!!! I will be thinking of you, and hope some day to meet you and the other ladies here in person!! Hugs and Love, Kathy
-
Happy Easter everyone! Our traditions have changed since we moved away from our kids. We drive back for the holidays, but we too are separated from other family and also our son has in-laws. I don't even cook a big meal for Easter. We go out to eat the night before. Ah well I just try to adapt. For me, it doesn't change the reason that I celebrate Easter. He is risen! Blessings all!
-
Janet, Kathy & Rocket, I hope you have all enjoyed a blessed and happy Easter.
I enjoyed a lot too much celebratory eating!! It was fun! Celebrating with family next weekend so it's not over yet!
-
hi, Tammy! Thank you, we had a wonderful Easter!!! Hope you did as well!! Enjoy all of your family get togethers!!!!! Yes, ate way too much!! I just bought a nutribullet, my doctor wants me to have a green superfood smoothie every morning!! I had cellulitis again a month ago, and she wants to build up my immune system!! And I drink a protein shake, thanks for the tip, Janet!!!!Hopefully, once I am off aromasin, ( one more year, I have been on it almost 9 years), things will get back to normal!! However, aromasin has kept the cancer away, and for that I am so grateful!!! My blood work has been really good!!! Love and Blessings!! Good nutrition and exercise are on the agenda this week!! Rocket and Janet, hope you both had a wonderful Easter!!!
-
Kathy, very glad to hear your bloodwork has been good, soooo sorry to hear you had another bout of cellulitis. Did you get a scratch or something that causes you to get it? Have you tried your new smoothies? Glad to hear you had a nice Easter.
I'm still doing well with my eating but just not exercising enough. I did get to plant potatoe & onions in the garden today. Does that count as exercise? :-) I've been so busy preparing for the wedding & working. We leave for Boston Thursday and there is so much to pack, I'm afraid I will forget something. Unfortunately I didn't loose the 10 lbs I wanted before the wedding. I did manage to loose about 5 lbs though & the dress I bought still fits, even better now! I am not giving up on the weight loss, I still want to loose 25 more lbs. I'll just keep doing it slow so it stays off..... That's what I tell myself...
With the help of you dear ladies & stay inspired. Stay well & enjoy!
((((Hugs))))
-
Hi,Janet!!! Definitely, working in the garden is great exercise!!! I am sure you are so excited about your daughter's wedding!! You will be a beautiful Mother of the Bride!!! Losing 5 lbs is wonderful!! Keep up the good work!!! I am not sure how I got the cellulitis, this time! I have a standing script for Clindamyacin!! The shakes and smoothies are great!!! Safe travel to Boston, enjoy, enjoy!!!
-
Janet, enjoy the wedding and post a photo!
I think of losing weight and staying healthy is an on-going commitment so it really doesn't matter how long it takes if we keep moving forward
-
Enjoy every minute of the wedding Janet. Our Easter was wonderful. We got to spend time with our Precious granddaughter. I love that baby so much!
I have been having a lot of trouble with burning pain in my arm. I think it is a CRPS flare up. I had to up my Gabapentin dose and use my arm very little to get it under control. It drives me crazy! I just want to feel somewhat normal and be able to do normal things. At least I can still walk. We are going to Grandfather Mtn. today as well as shopping for a piece of pottery to match my new kitchen backsplash. Hopefully I will get a walk in today as well.
I hope you ladies all have a wonderful day! It's sunny here and warm, but not hot. It's the perfect day to get outdoors.
Love to you all,
Rocky

Hi, Everyone!! It has been quiet here, but I know Janet is busy with a wonderful wedding with her daughter!! How are you doing , Tammy and Rocket? Hope you both are doing super and enjoying Spring!! I have been doing lots of walking and helping my DIL with her in home day care! And helping with new Grandaughter , Addy!!! Hubby and I bought a Nutribullet and I have a green smoothie every morning!! You can put everything in it!!! Amazing!!! I am stuck with the weight loss, not gaining, and not losing!! Back to low carb and no sugar again!! I am so bad about sticking to this plan!! I know the carbs and sugar make me gain weight!! I have got to have more Will power!! Thanks for letting me vent, coming here always refreshes me!!! Blessings to you all!!!

Hi ladies, I'm back. What a fabulous time we had in Boston. The wedding was so special & dinner was amazing. It went by so quick, I'm thankful we spread it out over 4 days. Now to finishing preparations for the family party on Long Island.....
Kathy, congratulations on your new granddaughter Addy. I didn't know you were expecting....that's great. I look forward to that next step. From what I hear, the plans are to hold off for a few years....I saw something in Costco for Easter, some sort of baby blanket purse in the shape of a rabbit, lamb, dog....it was adorable I wanted to buy it & put it away...my DH thinks I'm crazy...lol. I didn't buy it..
I am not going on the scale for days.... I was bad, but truly enjoyed myself. Lots of espresso martini's, delicious food. One night we ate a place that made all sorts of organic pizza, best ever, they had 2 huge brick ovens. Afterward you played straight pin bowling & had dessert. Our wedding dinner was at an Italian restaurant in the north end of Boston. The best Italian food I ever had in a restaurant, so of course I had to try everything. Now, back to my shakes, yogurt & salads. Great news as we started planting some things in our garden :-).....looks like the snow is finally gone so I will be able to get more exercise.
(((Hugs)))) Janet
-
Janet, I am so pleased you had a wonderful time.....please post a picture or two!
Expresso martinis??? Wow!!
Plenty of time to get back on track
-

-
Well my weight is pretty stable despite eating lots....I've been training to do a 4k fun run on Sunday which raises money for breast cancer research. Last year I ran/ walk BUT this year I plan to run the whole way.....I've run 5.5k in training so fingers crossed!
I've raised over $350 in donations so no pulling out now
-
Hey, Tammy, have fun on Sunday! You are awesome that you are running the 4K!! Enjoy, enjoy!! Thanks so much for raising Money for Breast Cancer research! Let us know how it went!! Hugs and Blessings to everyone here!!!
-
You go Tammy! That's fantastic! Will be thinking about you.....have fun.
Back to work today, back to healthy eating :-) now I just need to get some exercise in. I'm hoping my scratchy throat is allergies & not a cold. Can't complain though, I've been healthy in that department :-)
Have a great weekend!
-
Happy Mother's Day!
-
Did it - the run that is! I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day (((hugs)))
-
Hi, Tammy!! Congratulations !!! You are awesome!!!!!
-
congratulations Tammy! Great job :-)
-
Hi Ladies,
I have been off the boards for quite a while. I needed a break from BC, but missed all of you lovely friends. I have conjunctivitis again and doc has put me on antibiotic/steroid eye drops. We have been doing a bit of traveling to see family in Maine. We are finally headed home now and I am so happy to get back.
Tammy congrats on the run! Janet so glad you enjoyed the wedding and celebrations! I have been terrible with my eating while traveling. Now it's back to healthy food and exercise. We will be going to Alaska on a cruise at the end of July, so I need to get my body back in shape and lose a few pounds between now and then.
You gals are always so encouraging. Hope you all have a wonderful week!
-
Rocket, hello..... An Alaskan cruise! I'm sooooo jealous......
