Best wishes to all of you that are going in this week.  Yes just show up!  You'll take a nice little nap that feels like 5 minutes, then you'll be on the road to recovery.

Hi, turtle42 - I'm sorry to intrude, but I can' sleep either.  I'm having surgery in five hours, so I know exactly how you feel.  It's normal to be nervous. (And this will be my fourth surgery in less than a year.)  Take a deep breath.  It's all going to be all right.  I promise.  Wishing the very best of luck to you later today!

Hi  Az85048. It's nice to have someone to wait with. My surgery is scheduled to start between 8:30-9:30 but I have to be there at 6:30. You have been thru a lot this year. My thoughts and prayers will be with you today. Good luck and I wish you a speedy recovery.

sweetjam, wildflower, sammyjokk, and turtle42  - Thinking of you all today.

I made some public appearances over the weekend. It was nice to get out of the house for something other than doctor's appointments and great to see some friends. I learned that 2 hours is my limit, which of course will get better but that's all I could handle.

Praying for those of you having surgery today as I anxiously await my surgery tomorrow. I have a pre-op with the PS this afternoon to get marked up and like everyone else, I'm just ready to get it over with on get on the road to recovery. It's going to be a long day for the family tomorrow.  Have to be at the hospital at 10:45, injection at 12:45 and surgery at 2:45. I'm sure wizard50 is having some of the same feelings.

    sweetjam, wildflower, sammyjokk, and turtle42

In your pocket today singing "everything is gonna be alright"

Hopeellen -the waiting is the hard part and the day is long for your family.  Not so much for you cause once you are out - time flies.  Make sure that your family brings things to read or do while they wait.  A friend of mine went with my hubby and they played cards while they waited.

My thoughts are with the surgery sisters.  i can't believe how fast this month is going by.

Today is my first day home alone since before surgery.  I'm enjoying it.  Did a little cooking for lunch and will be taking it easy the rest of the day.

Tomorrow should be getting my four drains out.  Can't wait.

I'm really surprised how good I feel from this time last week.  I'm a little worried that I am not taking it easy enough.  Went for ride yesterday in hubby's jeep with top off.  Brought my little pillows for the seatbelt.  It was a beautiful day and I wanted out of the house.  Day before went strawberry picking with my son and then went to lunch.

Not sure I am cut off for laying low.  Already thinking about when can I go back to work.

For those having surgery today...My thoughts and prayers are with you!!!❤️

Today is my first day home alone since my surgery 11 days ago. Wow! 11 days already...time sure flies by. I'm fairly capable of doing pretty much everything now, except driving and opening certain twisty top things. But I'm thinking I'll be driving within a few days, and twisty tops will be soon to follow! Dadgumit! Haha! It was VERY humbling having to ask my 82 year old mama to open a lid for me. ;)

One thing I would PROBABLY do differently now that I'm into week two of my recovery, is that I would use my arms more in week one. I never had the T-Rex arms, probably due to my type of surgery and not having any nodes removed, but I was told by the nurses no lifting my arms above shoulder level. Well, immediately following surgery I unconsciously put both arms behind my head while watching TV in the hospital. A little very slight pulling, but no problem!! Then I got all scared that I was going to hurt myself so I stopped raising my arms. Big mistake for me. At my one week check up I asked my dr what I could do and she said anything, just no heavy lifting and no stretching through any pain...gradual stretching only. Arg. Well after a week of playing it safe, I could no longer put my hands behind my head. I'd gotten VERY stiff. In hindsight I think that I would have been better off to use my arms naturally from the get-go, listening to my body instead of the nurse. Now I have to do daily stretching exercises which, quite frankly, are torturous.  I'm feeling more movement each day though, so even though they don't FEEL like they are helping, they must be.

Also, my earlier post regarding nipple necrosis was for naught. I followed Divecats advice and used an antibiotic ointment and gauze. My nipple is looking fabulous. Very little if any lingering seepage, and no necrosis. Yay!

My only lingering issue is swelling under the armpit area on the sides of my breasts where the drains were. Ugh. Makes even walking uncomfortable. Did anyone else experience this? And these awful TE's. Goodness. What an absolutely alien feeling...and I've only got 50cc in each so far. My first post-surgery fill is June 30th. I'm kinda NOT looking forward to that. Ha!

I'm feeling pretty much the same as you HopeEllen.  Friday was my last day of work, spent yesterday getting the house in order and doing last minute errands today but overall I'm ready for tomorrow.  I have to be at the hospital at 9, dye injection at 9:30 and surgery at 1:30.  I'm hoping all the ladies who had surgery today are doing well and I will be thinking about you tomorrow HopeEllen.  Wishing everyone a speedy recovery :)

sandra, I've got the donuts.  We've got a great bakery here called Thee Heavenly Donut, and their donuts are indeed heavenly!

Wizard50 and HopeEllen, praying for you both.  Tomorrow will be fine, and before you know it, it will be all over.

Lissa, sounds like you're recovering well.  I have the swelling under my armpits and I agree that it's uncomfortable.  I've been told that it will go down, and what's left will be addressed during my stage 2 surgery.

trish, drains out tomorrow?  You'll be doing the happy dance, my friend.  And don't rush back to work.  Enjoy the recovery time.

gila, glad you got to get out.  I also got out yesterday - went to visit my daddy, went to church, and went to Wal Mart.  Thanks to my daughter for driving me all around!

    One love,

    tp4ever

The pinwheel is wonderful. Love it.

KimberlyAnn, how is your recovery coming along?

I'm keeping the engine running on our virtual Pink Bus of support. Kfinnigan will need us to take her to the hospital tomorrow for her surgery. How 'bout some of our San Antonio salsa and chips to start the party?
