Yes Red, knee is done, two weeks ago tomorrow......it's going to be a long recovery but I'm up for it......lol.  I have already graduated from my walking frame to two walking sticks.  Every day is a mile stone as I am able to walk just that little bit further and the exercises are becoming just that little bit easier.......mind you, I still need a lot of pain meds but over time they will lessen as well.  I'm aiming to be able to drive again as soon as possible so I don't have to ask my DH to drive me everywhere oh and shower without needing him to put my knickers on and dry my feet and back........lol.

Yes I did know you got to meet Aly........she is such a sweety and she shared a photo on her 'big girl pants' thread.  It was so nice to see you with the other girls as well.   Lol.....yes, I think I can see that you are excited and I promise it won;t be that long before I pop in again. (((((((hugs))))))).

    Love n hugs.   Chrissy

Day 164 (6/13): grateful it was a great Friday the 13th. Got DD's stuff moved to her new place (it's not a studio apartment like she said, it's the added-on bonus room in the back of the house, so it's one huge room, but no closet. She's planning on getting one of those stand up clothes racks and some screen divider for a makeshift closet) and got Dad's new patio furniture set assembled (which was a minor miracle in itself as the directions were awful). There were even some local fireworks last night.

6/14- grateful for a day of rebalancing yesterday via a morning massage and an outdoor full moon yoga. I woke up feeling good today!

Red- I hope the shoe hanger is to fill up with shoes you buy there! Rome (and Italy in general) have great leather anything, but especially shoes. I was in Italy last in 2009 (Tuscany) and came home with two pair of boots and two pair of cute flats. I still have them and wear them all the time. Europeans know how to make comfortable and stylish shoes!

Day 166 (6/15): grateful I have a wonderful dad who's taking good care of my mom. So appreciate DD coming home for dinner with us for Father's Day (DH was grumpy all day because she hadn't called but she had a full day with work, church and some time with friends and did better by being here).

this thread has been quiet today, hoping all okay. Jazzy, have a wonderful time!

Day 167 (6/16): so grateful for BCO and the friendships I have because of it. Words can't express my gratitude for the friends who have become my support system, even closer than my family. Never had a sister and I feel like I have a couple great ones now.

Grateful for the wonderful employee at my bank who is retrieving archived files for me in the bank statements requested by the Medicaid social workers.  I have spent down my mom's money  on assisted living and nursing home care during the past six years due to her advanced Alzheimers and now we need financial assistance to keep her in the nursing home she resides in.  My mom had had this awful disease since her 70's and she will turn 90 this year.  She has been "away" such a long, long time.  I no longer cry and mourn the loss of her.  I have peacefully accepted her condition and am so grateful that she gets really good care.

Day 168 (6/17): grateful I started the day by stretching with a yoga program. It was a gentle yoga but had to pass up some of the poses using upper body strength. Grateful I had a realization that the same web-site I've been using to search out new job openings yields different results when I use the ipad vs the Mac. Who woulda thunk that? Found some very interesting prospects last night so I decided to apply right then so they don't disappear (close) by morning which has happened in a couple of case.

Honeybair, I'm so sorry you're going through this now! At least it's comforting that your mom is getting wonderful care so that's not a burden on your mind. We can only do so much. It's tough watching our parents regress, I can relate with my mom's Alzheimers'.

Day 169 (6/18): I am grateful that my Dad is getting support with my Mom and attending an Alzheimers' support group. I know it's difficult for him to hear what the others are going thru, but at least he knows he's not alone in this awful disease.

Also, I am a mentor for a national cancer support organization,  and have been trying to get in contact with my mentee. Grateful we just had a long conversation. She sounds like a wonderful lady and has a great attitude (way better than when I was first dx'ed).

Ruth, that's the way to go! I like your thinking! The Weekly Wednesday Walking Women?

Onco, I goofed, it's actually a national cancer (of all type) support group. They match by type of cancer. Not sure if I'm supposed to mention it on BCO so I will email you with the name.
