Nettie, I agree with checking out your bed. Have you gone to physical therapy? Sciatica is awful. I had it during my last 2 months of pregnancy. My back pain is a muscle spasm which comes and goes. Unfortunately we have not figured out the trigger or been able to totally eliminate it.

Hi everyone--it's me remember me Camille---

I'm so sorry I've been not going at mu usual rate of posting, I can't belive how busy I've become in the last couple of weeks--I actually have to start thinking on this job, not good for me.

Susan I so agree about how different we are and our way of taking care of ourselves is different and I honestly think there is no right or wrong, it's just our bodies that go the way they re going. In a perfect work there would be so many less people getting BC how they exercise and eat and sleep, but the world isn't perfect that's for sure.

Nettie I went to PT for my back and LE and I do the excercises but they don't help a lot it just gets worse and it's not mets, it's the discs and vertebrae that just couldn't take all this crap and that's why I always sleep half sitting up, altho my back does spasm now (it did't use to) that's when my eyeballs hurt too. And I have to wait to move til the spasm lessens so try not to worry, this seems to screw with our backs for a lot of people????

Ah the Dr. same ole sameole  She aks me questions, I answer and she laughs???? But she does want to talk to my Onc and when I'm done with all the urology stuff she's like to see certain tests done for cancer purposes cuz  see my Onc. soon too.??? And and of course I'm low on all kinds of things so I have to take more scripts for whatever , even tho I know I'm a PITA for her (and of course I told her) she did say if she gave away suckers I would get one. She said I'm one of her favs--I bet I am her favorite--oh yea right, but I do laugh when she feels my intestines and she now feels my side too, to see how there doing. She's a sweetheart.

So see there's nothing new to report except I still feel like chit but she knows it and tells me to take my pain meds to be more comfortable---see she's the pusher not me. Oh and she did say my insides are all screwed up but that hasn't changed. LOL

And when I read Chevy's first post, I think someone else wrote it, it didn't sound like her, way to serious,

I'm back. Read all of above. My girlfriend just had a scare yesterday, had a call back from her mammogram taken on Wednesday. So went in for more pinpoint mammograms and everything is ok. Wow. I told her one person in a group of friends is enough. So nobody else gets to get this crap.

Sorry you guys with back issues are having such trouble, wish there was an easy way to fix it. Dam BC shit!

Got to take sister to airport. BBL (know how long it took me to figure that out?? I'm dense!)

chit, just lost my whole rant about my bloodwork!

So I'm going to try again!  Why did they tell me it was normal when the following is true?

    WBC - low   3.6 on a scale of 4.1 - 10.9

    MONO% - high   14.3 on a scale of 4.7 - 12.5

    RBC - low   3.98 on a scale of 4.2 - 6.3

    MCV - high   100.3 on a scale of 80 - 97

    MCH - high   33.9 on a scale of 26 - 32

Ok, so is it because I'm close to the normal range that I'm still considered normal!  I do NOT understand at all!  Very upset about this right now, but maybe I shouldn't be!  And do they take these into account with the other stuff and then consider it normal!  I'm no medical person by far, but I sure would like to know how this is considered normal and if I have anything to worry about!

Someone please help me out here!!

Cammi, thanks for the input about my back!  I have the weirdest crap!  Right this moment, as I sit and type, nothing hurts, I mean nothing!  But if I try to stretch and push my shoulder blades together I get this stabbing pain, right in the center of my back!  And it's this same pain that sometimes comes on all by itself!  As for the hip, it only hurts when I lay down, and I don't think it's the mattress, because it happens wherever I lay down!  I've doing physical therapy, I'm seeing a chiro and a massage therapist!  Just don't know what else to do!  Just pray that one day it will just be gone!

Nettie , can u look back at your records and see what they have been before?? I have access to all my records from 12 years ago at the start of all of this. So I can compare. They don't seem to freak out unless they see a pattern of steady rising or falling. Fluctuating a little bit doesn't seem to count.

I don't think you are on any meds anymore, cause those can alter counts...that just means you are taking your meds, either oral chemo, or having infusions.....

Here again.....we need are sas !

Hope that makes you feel a little better.  Sorry you have to worry :) here's a little rainbow for you :)

Nettie, I forgot to comment on your back issues....

I HAD sciatica a long time ago.... way before BC.  I had twisted my back, while making my bed.....  and I was on the bed, on one knee, throwing the covers up, and I was on the phone at the same time....

I really hurt it!  I slid off the bed, in a crumpled heap.  Could hardly move.  Had to see the Doc.  I ruptured a disk.... but "sometimes" with rest, it will heal itself.  Okay, that sounded good...  But I hurt it again, somehow.... had physical therapy.... and it helped.   But a year after, I HAD to have it done....  I was on constant Ibuprofen....

But standing all day, with my job, didn't help.  THEN the pain started down my leg into my foot.  That was "Sciatica."  A CT scan and a "mylogram" showed all this... I had surgery.... A doubel-laminectomy.... to repair the damage.

Your back problems could be anything from a simple injury to like the other gals said, your bed, or maybe degenerative osteo-arthritis!  Try heat, or cold, whichever feels best....  I liked the heat best....

If your Doc's are telling you, it is nothing to worry about, give it a couple more weeks,  and if it is getting worse,  THEN go and  raise hell....

My back is just fine now... mostly....  Just at my age, everything that hurts is just understandable!

I can see why you are afraid it is more cancer.... but I wouldn't worry.....  Just wait a couple weeks, and go yell at your Doctor if it is worse.

I don't know anything about your "numbers".... But if the Doc says, you are within normal range,  just be happy with that.

patty we can all be cast in it...didn't see it but a little bummed no one knocked on my door and asked me for a true life reading....come on...we can do this. We have pole dancers, paintballers, tea parties, brownies, some weird looking mushrooms, prob enough drugs together to hold the show together for a year, we definitely have attitude to bring, so many cool pics, and a lot of love.

    What's wrong with them...ha. Ha

well, I'll post my good news. I'm half way through the weight lost program, week 10 and I've lost 21.5 lbs. Half way there.  I thought it would get easier to ignore food as we went along, but sometimes I want a salad soooo bad I'd eat it without dressing!  Oh well, food starts back at the end of July. I'm not going to blow it now.

Susan, you're up late! It's only 9:30 here. Our heat wave let up yesterday because the wind started up. Nice weather but the wind is scary in some places where the fire danger is high. It's going to be a long hot summer.

Well, I'm here, and I have all sorts of witty things to say, except that I'm posting on my iPad and it's such a PIA to type on! And I have a stylus!!!!

    Susan - AWESOME pic!

Nettie - I'm currently dealing with a whole slew of back problems. MRI last week showed even more damage than we thought. I'm in a back brace and on Norco and Valium. But not once did I ever think it might be mets. To be polite, my awesome Pain Management doc says they are "degenerative issues"... In other words, at the ripe old age of 63, I have an old lady's back! But there is much more that is good than is bad with my back, so I am grateful. I am going to do whatever it takes to get healthy again!

Smaarty - you ROCK!!!! Halfway there - do you have more energy these days? That was the part I loved. How are the rest of the people in your cohort doing?

All for now.... This hunt and peck with the stylus is just painful - especially with my trigger finger... But that, too, shall pass. At least it did when I got off the Arimidex.

    xoxoxo

thanks guys. There's 24 in the group, no one has dropped out. Every week it's posted how much wight the group has lost. We stay around 58 lbs or so each week. You can really tell on some of us.  I don't feel like I have more energy. If anything the exercising just poops me out for the rest of the day. My blood pressure was never high before now I'm running about 110/80. I don't know if that's it. Seems kinda low to me but the doc said it was fine.

yep mine stays low also. Usually the machine won't pick it up and nurses have a hard time hearing it. My mo says as long as no side effects like fainting, heart fluttering etc. Than it's not to worry about. Way better than too high

hi Owlettes! I've been lurking - when I can. Crazy exhausted last week, zero energy, motivation or focus. Thought this would be catch-up week! Ha! Not a chance. DD told me 2 days ago she was moving this weekend and had friends to help. So much had to be done around here to accommodate that. Then last night told me she needs me to help her move tomorrow as she works all weekend using DH's truck. Been running around since 6:30 this morning, finally sat down about half an hour ago. Busy next couple of days so hoping to catch up soon.

Smaarty, am so impressed with your weight loss!

Big gentle hugs for all whom need them and for those who want them!

I had my 3rd iron infusion today and I swear all I smell is iron. Really sucky. The lady in the chemo chair next to me was in her 90's...she looked great and even volunteers at the hospital. She has chemo every 3 weeks. She has so much positive energy. Next week, I will be 60 and I can barely walk from no energy.

I'm so tired tonight. Had labs done prior to infusion and sure hope my blood counts are up. Came home tonight to an ant invasion....I swear I must live on an ant hill. When the days get hot, the ants find a way somehow into the house, and there is no line of ants, they are just magically there. Because of my dogs I won't use harsh chemicals. I've tried orange oil, and tonight put a line of baby powder down along the base boards and the tile. I heard that might work. These little black ants bite....ugh! Ok guys (gals), give me some 'safe for pet' ideas on getting rid of ants.

hey Patty P! Have missed playing with you on the word games threads. Trying to get back to the games, mind can't focus on a long post, even having probs with the word games. DD moved out day after HS graduation 2 years ago, moved back last July when the condo they were living in was sold. I think she's had problems readjusting to living "back at home" after freedom, might be a partial cause of her rebellion. She works outrageous hours. Opens the Y at 5 am, break during the day, ends her day between 6 and 7 PM. Then crappy crazy traffic to dive here. She's moving about 25-30 miles away but closer to school/work. She had a 4-hr break, if she was moved in, she could have taken some time for a 2-hr nap. Helping her move tomorrow (She took clothes and stuff there yesterday and today while I spent the last 2 days getting things together for her for the move, she packed DH's truck and her car tonight so tomorrow I get to see the place), then out to my parents tomorrow night to help dad get some things done (assemble some patio furniture for him for Fathers' Day), then meeting some BCO ladies Saturday which is close to her home.

Pawprint, hope you're feeling better, getting some energy back. Does cinnamon gum or mints help with the iron? When I was on chemo, I used cinnamon game to get rid of the metallic taste.

Hopefully, will be back on a more regular basis.

    Have a great weekend all!

MM!  OH THAT WAS SOOOOOOOO CUTE!!!  Ha, ha!  I sent it by email to my chicken neighbor, and her 2 little girls.

Those chickens are so TAME!  When I take them their fresh food, and go in their coop, they all come around my legs, waiting for me to put their treats in their pan...

And I reach down and pet them!    If I got DOWN to sit with them, I would never get UP!  And you really wouldn't want to do that in there.... with them....  image

So MORNing gals!  Glad DD is getting things together 222nd!  And is it okay if we call you Maddy?

Sorry Littlepaws!  Tastes like a mouthful of nails, right?  I had that once, and I forget what caused it... probably an antibiotic or something.  P-Patty said something about cinnamon?  I LOVE those hard candies from Jolly Rancher!  They even help if you have a cough, I mean better than cough-drops.

You know, if you had some chalk?  Then draw a line close to your cupboards, fridge, and all along door-ways, it's supposed to stop the ants....  And I've used those little "ant-traps" and set them where our dog couldn't get to them....  Like part way under the fridge, etc.

PattyPeppermint, I just LOVE your name!  It is just the cutest!  I can't even screw that up....  !   So have you guys tried broken peppermints in your coffee?  It's really good!

Smarty, that is so GREAT!   I mean all the weight loss!  So tell me again, which program is it?  And you can't eat SALADS?  Did you say it is all liquids, or am I getting it totally wrong?

Blessings!  Man, your back is really a mess!   My MOM had like bone-spurs along her spine, and they had to scrape them off...  degenerative disease is really common....  You are still young though!   I mean compared to ME, EVERYone is young!

I hurt mine, when I was about 40...  Had surgery about a year later, and so far, doing good!

Just have to stay off that pole awhile longer!

    image

    image

Peppermint, what show?  Do you remember the name?  And is it a series?

Yes Susan, we all have attitude, right?  We NEED it....  and the older we get, you will find it just necessary!  image

Nettie, we didn't desert... just probably doing something else mundane!
