6/11- I am grateful for all the fun going away events that have started as I prepare to leave my contract project end of the month. Lunch yesterday with some folks, different lunch today with different folks!

    June 11

Today I am grateful to have finally picked out which dresses and skirts I will be taking on my trip. It was difficult as I want to be practical but pretty too. Most of my pretty stuff doesn't have pockets.

    Jazzy, I like that saying.

Maddy, what's up? Why the almost post? Life getting busy again?

    Ruth and Cheryl, welcome back.

Lovelush, I am grateful for my mom every sat just like you are for your dad.

Everyone have a lovely hump day!

Grateful for modern appliances such as washers, dryers etc.  Think of how hard our foremothers worked on things we take for granted!

Grateful I was able to leave work early so I could nap for a few hours, amazing how a little sleep can make you feel so much better.

ok, trying to catch up, am pages behind

Day 155 (6/4): grateful this is a thread where it's ok to catch up, no judgements. Still amazed I got to meet such wonderful women on Monday.

Day 156 (6/5): grateful for post-it's. What did we do without them? Good thing about post-it's, they stick to everything, bad thing, they stick to everything. Grateful that a good friend called me for support when her DD went into labor and the family was having a bit of drama and I could help her feel better.

Day 157 (6/6): grateful my friend's grandson was born via c-section after mom was in labor over 24 hours. Grateful I had enough energy and could get out a bit today. Had a fun visit to a dollar store where I bought some activities for my mom.

Day 158 (6/7): grateful I got to catch up on some very restful sleep.

Day 159 (6/8): grateful I had a bunch of energy today. Helped DH mow the front lawn. I appreciate that I'm really beginning to feel more like myself (getting out of mental, physical, and emotional fog).

Day 160 (6/9): grateful for our "June gloom" weather where it's overcast (and cooler) in the morning before it heats up around noon. Had a long talk with a BCO friend which felt like a wonderful long-distance hug.

Day 161 (6/10): grateful I had enough energy to get back on the stationary bike today so I can get back to my regular exercise. DD found out today that she will be moving this weekend to an area closer to school/work and it didn't hurt my heart. Was actually happy for her. This is a much better arrangement than when she moved out 2 years ago (back then she moved out the day after high school graduation into an apartment across from a local university that she found on Craigslist with 3 girls she didn't know into a 2 bedroom/1 bath apt. It wasn't a good situation, but thankfully it only lasted a month or so, then she moved into a condo with some friends from where she works who looked after her like an older brother and sister). She's moving into a house with some other friends from work (house is fully paid for, owned by her friend's mom so hopefully this one won't be sold and requiring her to move). She said her living area is actually a studio apartment attached to the house so she will have her a private entrance into her living area with her own little kitchen area. She loves to bake and hates cleaning up after others. She says it's a much bigger living space than the small room she previously rented.

Day 162 (6/11): grateful I am caught up (for now). No, really I am grateful I had enough energy today to get boxes of dishes, pots & pans and flatware down from upper shelves in the garage that I have been saving for my DD (so happy I had the insight to save all of these for her over the years when we purchased new ones). We decided to give her our new printer but this required that I had to move a desk and book shelf to be able to accommodate the old printer that has been in her room. I still had enough energy to move her bed frame she will be taking that we stored upstairs to downstairs, lots of trips so I got my exercise climbing stairs and working my upper body today.

Welcome home Maddy. Sounds like you've been really busy.

Today I am once again grateful to my temp assistant for her hard work to keep me on track. Also grateful for my favorite uncle, Les, who is celebrating his 77th birthday today.

I have no idea how many days I might have missed so just for today.

I am grateful for a clean CT scan and good echo.  So I continue on Herceptin and tykerb.  And grateful for the last of 4 fundraising events to be held this weekend and then I can begin to think about my upcoming vacation with kids .   Off to California

Day 163 (6/12): grateful for the many years of wonderful neighbors. Last of the neighbors moved yesterday (one family moved almost 2 years ago, the one across the street moved 2 weeks ago, this was the family on the other side of us). Maybe this will get DH motivated to downsize - and soon. House is more than I can maintain on my own.

The best thing is that it is not at the 'OMG it is SO awful I can't stand it' stage quite yet. I am getting it cut a little earlier than I usually do because I have another trip & a wedding that I want it to look for, so had to adjust the timing to make that happen. Smile

Red I'm envious, Rome is on my bucket list, have a wonderful time and enjoy every slice of pizza!!

Grateful for a good nights sleep, hopefully I have sweated out this horrible cold that for the past week has made me feel like I've been run over by a bus.

Cheryl, I hope you have gotten rid of that cold. Feeling like you've been run over by a bus is no laughing matter. Although I did smile when I saw the post, because I got an instant visual. Glad you got a good night's sleep.

Ruth, I got my hair cut for the first time in 20 years just last week. I now have a shoulder length bob instead of a waist long pony tail. It feels so much lighter!

I am not a religious person (sorry folks) but this struck a chord with me and I thought I would share.

Day 13:  Gah!  I am writing this on Friday the 13th!  And yes, I am a little supersticious.  O my spelling.  Thursday was nice.  Another nice day with Dad (I'll grab 'em ~ right Red?)  except he put me to work this time.  :)  O so grateful for the peace and quiet at night and yes, another Red Sox win.  Those games are such a release for me and bring out amazing passion.  I am looking forward to a special night next week to share something I will be incredibly grateful for.

Day 14:  Grateful for incredible news!  I got the 'no growth' on my results.  That is great.  I had heard it through a phone call, but my gut didn't quite believe it.  Still having trouble wrapping my head around it, as I had new symptoms, but I will take the news and smile.  The radiologist, I'm incredibly surprised, doesn't want a follow up in 6 months.  He's a different one.  Not sure what I think about that, but I'll take my happy news tonight and celebrate with a glass of water!

I am so excited for all of the traveling ladies.  Redreading and Jazzygirl enjoy your trips.  Be safe and take pictures for the vicarious ones.

RedReading, you just chopped it?  I'm impressed.  I'd be terrified.  Were you able to donate your hair?

Honeybair, my husband has the mask, too.  His was whistling last night.  I just turn him over.  He reacts a little and then thuds off to sleep.

    Enjoy your Friday, everyone!

    June 14

Today, I  am grateful for not having to wait any more. I leave today and tomorrow I will be in Italy! I am so excited! I bought one of those shoe hangers - holds 12 pair - so if you ladies would like to make yourselves little teeny tiny, you can come along with me and each of you can have their own pocket in the shoe hanger. Then when it's time to leave the hotel room, you just make yourselves big again.

Onco, no we decided to do dinner instead, but that isn't until day 3. Just to clarify a bit though, I do believe in God, just not in religion. I have seen way too many horrible things done in the name of religion and decided long ago that I will say my prayers in private & celebrate God with my family and friends. I know a lot of people on these boards are very religious, so I hope that I have not offended anyone.

Ruth, pinching Italian youths? I heard that once before I think. They come up and pinch your bum, but you are supposed to smile sweetly and not punch them out! Is that true then? Thanks for the nice comment about my hair, I was very nervous about it but have grown more comfortable with the new look.

Lovelush, no, I couldn't donate it. Rads killed my hair, it was dry, brittle and very thin. We took off everything that was officially dead. lol Very happy about the good news you got on the 'no growth' front. That is just super!

Jazzy, have fun at the jazz festival. Aspen in the summer - hmm, can't picture it. Great pic of the cactus flower.

Maddy, I hope that life slows down just a bit for you and lets you take a breather this weekend. (((Hugs)))

Honeybair and Nel, hope you both have a great week.

    Well, that's it. I will try to get online at least once while in Italy and post a picture. But it won't be a high priority. We'll see. I will miss you all. {{{{{huggles}}}}}}
