kpmacmill,
Glad to hear you are safe at home!! Don't think I will get much sleep tonight.

Squirrel, me either. Had the nuclear injection....honestly was not as bad as I thought. I almost cried when she said she was done because I thought I had more in store!
Sleeping pill tonight for sure.
-
Hello girls,
my bandages are coming off tomorrow.Since they took the nipple off in my lumpectomy, I'm a bit worried about looking at it. Did you guys put off looking at it?
-
I preferred cotton pajamas over silk. A friend sent me some from Nordstrom that she had after a breast reduction surgery and I loved them. The weather was cooler then and they were long sleeve with pants but had side pockets in the shirt which worked out perfectly.
-
Dancing it took me a few days. I couldn't look when the nurses were changing my dressing and I had my DH hang a towel over the mirror in the bathroom for my first shower. Take your time and do it when your good and ready to.
-
Thinkpink4ever, bethq and slappy-squirrel you gals are in my prayers for a successful surgery and smooth recovery. Your in my prayers!
-
I haven't been on in a few days and want to wish all those who've already had their surgeries a speedy recovery. I'm amazed at how strong you all are and hope I can be as brave when my surgery comes. For those who have surgery tomorrow, I am sending lots of positive thoughts and energy your way. I have been trying not to focus on my surgery since it's not until the 23rd but my Pre-op appointments are tomorrow so I guess it's time to start preparing. I appreciate all the tips you all have shared-- it goes a long way to take away the fear of the unknown.
-
Ladies I am posting my 2 day post op pic. Just to give you a 'real' look at what might to expect. Note the smile! My chest is red from my weekend on the beach before surgery. I have TEs With about 150 cc each. I now have 750 each!
Another confession, those are sanitary napkins, not gauze. Doc recommended that as a softer alternative !
-
You look great, jbokland! Keep moving forward with that great healing!
Thanks to all for the well wishes! I have to be at the hospital at 6:00 am and surgery should start around 7:00. I didn't even have a rumbly tummy today. No bubble guts. I'm ready and can't wait to be on the other side - a real autologous flapper! Not on my bucket list, but it may now be my claim to fame! Naw, probably not. I'm just a rookie compared to all my survivor sisters who have been down this path. They are my inspiration and have calmed my nerves tremendously. Besides, it's too late to turn back now! Let's do this, my peeps, so I can start healing, recovering, and celebrating being cancer free! Please pray for good path reports for all of us! Whoop whoop! I'm delirious and rambling. I think I need to go to bed. Nite nite, y'all...
One love,
tp4ever
-
Jbokland, you looked great! I was also smiling 2 days after :-) You can do it, ladies!
-
Good luck to you all thinkpink4ever, bethq, and slappy-squirrel tomorrow!
Jbokland, you look awesome!
Speaking of t-Rex arms, I always joke about my trex arms since I'm short and have short arms. Simple things like touching your palms on the floor while sitting cross legged, not happening here. So pretty much any yoga moves are out.
-
thinkpink4ever, bethq, slappy-squirrel, sending good thoughts...
-
waiting for them to roll me back to surgery. Shouldn't be much longer.
Shirley
-
think pink, bethq and squirrel I am on the pink bus. Hope the day goes miraculously. Many hugs.
-
slappy-squirrel, Thinkpink4ever , Bethq
Your all in my thoughts today for successful surgery and speedy recovery.
-
Vinnie Myers is in the news. The guy who does 3D nipple tattoos is featured in this video from the New York Times.
-
Mulligan, cute T-Rex cartoon.
You have had plenty of practice for what's to come.
-
Sandra--THANKS for sharing that video article!!! Very good!!
-
For those who are closer to New Orleans than Baltimore, Vinnie Myers also does tattooing there at the Center for Restorative Breast Surgery - referred to on the NOLA threads on this site. I believe he is there one week out of every month, but don't quote me on that.
-
good day!
-
yay!!!!
-
If only we could all go to Vinnie!
-
That is something to celebrate. Congrats to you Jb. Hope everyone made out ok today and best wishes for tomorrow's ladies. My last day at work was today and everyone was super nice. Lots of hugs and good wishes. i'm going to enjoy this last weekend and try not to dwell on the upcoming date. I think i'm more nervouus about the path report than i am of the surgery.
-
I hope all you June surgery ladies do just fine! You'll get through it and will soon be on the road to recovery. Jbokland, what a wonderful day for you!
Vinnie does amazing work - I'm trying to get in to see him in NOLA and he's booked through the end of the year.
-
Wishing all June ladies the best! Let me put it this way, our great March Ladies haven't posted in days, we've all hopped over to the June board to give you all of the strength and encouragement you need. It does get better, we are all on the other side to give our fellow sisters all of the support you may need!
-
Aff and sweet you guys are up next. We will be on the bus and praying for a safe and uncomplicated procedure.
Thank you for all the March sisters support. It wasn't that long ago from our March surgeries. Even though I will admit this second stage 1 was definitely more challenging. Both 5 days later I am able to go home and the flap looks great. God was definitely on my side and my super skilled PS.
Those still healing my prayers are with you.
Those trying to make decisions be as calm and educated as possible.
This too will pass. Just show up for your procedures and your surgical team and friends and relatives can do the worrying for you.
-
jbokland....
You look great in your picture you put up yesterday, hope I'm smiling 2 days after! Love the idea of using sanitary pads for the incisions. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! On your last chemo!!! I'm very happy for you!! I tried putting up a message yesterday about your smiley picture but I'm still having issues with my iPad.
Sweetpeakisses and aff , sending good thoughts for successful sergury and speedy recovery.
-
good luck sweetpeakisses and aff.
Yay jbokland!
-
Thanks Sandra!
-
On my way to the hospital. Talk to you all on the other side. Thanks for the incredible support.
