Hi, Rocket!!! So good to see you, but sorry you have conjunctivitis again!! Hope you feel better soon!! Enjoy your Alaskan cruise!! We went a few years ago ! It was wonderful!! Take the time to rest and relax!!!
-
Kathy, congrats on the new grand baby. I know you just love being a grandma! I sure do. My precious Erin will be here visiting with us next week. I can't wait to play with her and love on her.
-
Thank you, Rocket!! Yes, indeed, love my grandchildren !!! Enjoy, Enjoy, Erin next week !

Just wanted to say "hi" & happy Memorial Day weekend! I've been recouperating from this bad respiratory thing going around, working & party planning for the LI celebration. Just wanted you to know I was thinking of you dear ladies. Hopefully after 6/7 I have more time to relax & take care of me. Even though the weddings will be over I still want to loose some weight.....
Enjoy the weekend!
(((Hugs))))

Hi Ladies,
Tenaj, hope you feel better soon. Weddings are wonderful, but all the preparation can be exhausting. I hope you can rest some.
Speaking of exhaustion, I feel terrible. It is 8:50 pm here and I have been awake since 2:00 am. I slept only a few hours last night, woke up and couldn't go back to sleep. Our son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter are on their way to spend the long weekend with us. They should arrive at 11:30 tonight and I am so tired I feel sick. I'm afraid to cat nap because I am concerned that I won't sleep if I do. My granddaughter, Erin, is now 2 1/2 and will wipe me out tomorrow. I absolutely have to sleep tonight.
Hope all you ladies are doing well.
-
Rocket, go to bed now, do some deep breathing & relaxing & you'll pass out. You need your rest to enjoy all your family, especially Erin. Take some Benadryl to help you get a good nights sleep. Enjoy, enjoy but take care of yourself....let others help you so you can enjoy.
-
Tenaj, last night I took a Benadryl, a Lorazepam, and a mild muscle relaxer and slept only four hours. I have tried all the prescription sleep aids, and I can't handle the side effects. With all those meds on board, I still get very little sleep. Most people taking all that would be out for a week. I don't dare take anything else or anything stronger. And, yes my doctor does know all the meds that I am taking. I will try the deep breathing. I pray I can sleep. I need it desperately.
-
hi, Rocket, hope you are feeling better!! I am sure that seeing Erin perked you up!! I hope that all you wonderful ladies had a wonderful and relaxing Memorial weekend!! Hubby and I did a lot of walking, but had fun eating as well!
-
Yes Rocket, I hope your feeling better & enjoyed your visit with your loved ones.
Hi Kathy & Tammy! I'm still a bit crazy here with wedding/party planning....hoping the weather will be good on the 7th. The weather has been crazy here, AC one day & heat the very next day! Too bad worrying doesn't burn calories! Lol....hope all is well. Enjoy every day!
-
hi, Tenaj!! Prayers for great weather on the 7th!! Enjoy, enjoy every minute of your lovely daughter's wedding!!! Blessings, Kathy
-
Janet, I'm sure it will be a beautiful day whatever the weather!
Rocket, I hope you've been able to get some sleep, thinking of you.
Kathy, walking is great....much better than just sitting :-)
I haven't posted for a while as I am not well....I think I have shingles in my left leg but I'm off to my Dr tomorrow for a proper diagnosis. I have been in a lot of pain for over 10 days and living off pain medication. I thought I had hurt my leg and then I thought I had a virus but then I developed a rash on my foot which is moving in a line up my leg! Yuck!
-
Dearest Tammy!! You dear girl!! I had shingles last May, yes get to the doctor!! Prayers for healing and relief of pain!! Do you have a fever? If you do, and you said a red line, it could be cellulitis!! Get to an emergency room, pronto!!! I have had cellulitis as well, spreads quickly!! Please keep,us posted!!!
-
oh my Tammy, good luck tomorrow at the doctor. Keep us posted....hope your feeling better.
Still planning & doing things for Saturday. We decided to make a donation instead of favors to an organization. Everyone wanted to do something with cancer so I suggested BCO.....bought some breast cancer awareness rubber bracelets to give out.....trying to wrap up loose ends this week. I work for the next 2 days & then I'm off until the 12th. Party planning & getting ready for camping at the beach next week! Keeping up with my aleeve...to keep the aches under control...lo
-
Kathy and Janet, the doctor has confirmed shingles.....I actually feel better since the diagnosis...maybe the placebo effect!!
Janet, I think the expectation of a party or holiday is almost as much fun as the actual thing....enjoy the preparation and the party and holiday!
-
hi, Tammy!! Sorry, you have shingles, but so glad you have a clear diagnosis! I had Shingles last May! Glad you are feeling better! Sorry, if I scared you with the thought that it might have been cellulitis! Hope each day finds you feeling better!! Janet, enjoy the party and then camping!! What a great idea to make a donation to BCO!! Thank you so much for doing that!!
-
Oh Tammy, I am so sorry you are experiencing shingles. I had the vaccine and got shingles as a result. It is quite painful. I pray you get better quickly.
Janet, enjoy every minute of the preparations and the wedding. I pray you have beautiful weather and that the day is truly remarkable! And thank you for donating to BCO. I am sure everyone appreciates it. I know that I do.
Hey Kathy, you inspire me with the walking. I got out for a long walk yesterday with my DH and pups.
The weather has been spectacular here - in the low 70s. Much of our summer is in the 70s and low 80s without a lot of humidity because we are in the mountains. I love this time of year. It is also the time of year when we have the most company - with everyone trying to beat the heat elsewhere. We had a wonderful time with our DS, DIL and Erin. She was SO precious. Spontaneously she walked up to me, gently grasped my hand in hers, kissed it, and said, "I love you Nana" in her sweet little 2 1/2 year-old voice. I think my heart melted within me right there. She's such a doll baby! Any fatigue I was experiencing vanished.
This week we have more friends coming to spend Thursday through Sunday with us. We are looking forward to their visit. I have been trying to rest, exercise and eat right to build up my immune system. I am praying the conjunctivitis is gone for good.
I hope you ladies all have a wonderful week!
-
Good morning ladies,
Tammy sorry to hear about your shingles....prayers & wishes for a speedy recovery. Hang in there!!
Have a wonderful day!

Hello dear ladies....I am sorry that I have stayed off the boards for so long. Last year was so difficult...then my Dad passed away in the summer and I just couldn't seem to jump back into the community. The rest of the year was like Morton salt...when it rained..it poured!
Tendonitis in my foot kept me from doing much walking and I really missed that...it is such a stress reliever to me. In the fall, I had to have my first ever root canal and then had what I thought was another kidney stone attack. It turned out to be my gall bladder and 2 days before Christmas, I was in outpatient surgery having it removed. Recovered from that pretty well. We had a horribly cold winter with lots of below zero weather so was not able to get out and walk.
I had a good 6 month checkup in Feb and got back to work in March..looking forward to the busy season. Developed a persistent cough and finally got myself to the doctor in May.....news was not good...the bc monster is back. Tests show it in my lung and 3 spots on the liver...the bone scan was good and I am thankful for that! Had my first chemo yesterday...so we have at least started to throw some ammunition at it!
I sure didn't want to share bad news but wanted to let you all know. I always have kept you in my thoughts and hope you are all doing well.

Dear Jaytee! So good to have here, but so sorry to hear about your Dear Dad, and that your cancer is back . You are a very strong and positive woman, and you will conquer this battle as well! There are many threads on this board that you can go to for advice , encouragement and support !! Please continue to post here !! We love you !!!
-
Thanks Kathy...you are all so special on this thread. I love you all too! When I can, I am going to go walking...the foot doesn't hurt much anymore..staying off of it was a good thing to do ...but I sure do need the stress relief!
-
Jaytee, so nice to hear from you, have thought of you often....very sorry for the loss of your father & your reoccurrence. Hang tough, we are here for support. Walking is a great stress relief, so when you can....do the best you can!! Xoxoxo
I've been recouperating from all the wedding plans....I crashed this past week....lots of naps & relaxing. All went fantastic at the wedding celebration. We had the perfect weather of 80 degrees with 0% chance of rain so it was extremely dry! Which is such a bonus for Long Island! Now I really need to get my butt back in gear because I've gone backwards with all this celebrating.....so here we go again! Lots of water, green tea & NO snacking!
-
Dear Tenaj!! I am so glad that your wedding celebration was fantastic!! Yes, indeed, rest and relaxation for you now!!! And don't you worry about backtracking a little!! You probably exercised more than you think, with all the running around you did!!! You certainly deserved the good food !!!
Jaytee, hope you are doing well! I am so glad you posted here again!! Think of us as your support system, and friends to help you get through this new challenge!!!
A big shout out to Rocket and Tammy!! Hope you both are doing well!!!
-
Kathy, I'm doing well.....I had some time off work and I'm feeling sooo much better!
Janet, so glad to hear everything went so well after all the planning.....plenty of time to get back on track.
Judy, lovely to hear from you (((hugs)))
-
Hi tenaj....sounds like the wedding was absolutely perfect! Those events are meant to be thoroughly enjoyed...a few extra pounds can be dealt with later.
My daughter has been going out with a really nice young man and the thought of seeing her walk down the aisle someday is one of the goals I am hanging onto these days! Has your weather stayed nice for walking and getting out on your bike? I haven't attempted a walk yet, but I am curious to see how many laps around the track I could go.
Hi kindergarten and Tammy! Hope you all have a wonderful day ...thanks for being here. I will try very hard to not be a stranger.....I can so often fold up inside myself.....it is a bad habit and something I have to fight against. My thoughts are with you all today!
-
Kathy, your words are always so uplifting & positive. Thank you!
Tammy, glad you had some time off....the shingles feeling better? Hopefully your time off was relaxing & healing.
Jaytee, thinking about you......how's the foot & treatments going? Sending healing thoughts & hugs your way!
Hi Rocket! Hope your feeling well....enjoying some walks with those cute pups :-)
-
Tenaj...my foot is lots better after not doing much walking since last summer...felt so guilty about it, but it really needed that time to heal. It will be a week tomorrow since my first treatment...went for labs today...the wbc was really low even though I felt a bit better today. Had to get a neupogen shot and will have to go back tomorrow and Thurs for another. My exercise for the day was taking the stairs instead of the elevator up to the onc' s office...it's just on the second floor...but I told myself that I will always try and take the stairs first.
I wish you all a good tomorrow......goodnight dear friends!
-
Dear Jaytee! It is always so good to see you here! Taking the stairs is great exercise, it is good that you gave your foot time to heal. Slow but sure you can start walking again. How often are your treatments and are you taking Herceptin as well? Hugs to you!!!!
