What to expect
Good morning. I have DCIS and have had a surgical excision. I begin radiation on June 2nd, and I will be taking Tamoxifen. My question involves the effects of Tamoxifen.
I am 52 years old, and haven't had a period for almost 5 years. I had maybe three incidences of night sweats several months before my period stopped. I have had the occasional hot flash (and I mean occasional...maybe once a month), and some vaginal dryness. Other than that, I've had no real symptoms of Menopause.
Will the Tamoxifen cause more intense menopause symptoms? I guess what I'm wondering is if anyone has been in a situation where they were already in menopause, with light symptoms...and then went on Tamoxifen. If so, how were the side effects?

i think you need to discuss this with your Oncologist as you may be better with an aromastase inhibitor inatead
