Help.........My MO just suggested going on Faslodex since Letrozole is causing terrible joint and muscle pain......have been on it for 3 years and ready to give up so I can get a QOL.........

MO says it does not cause pain........SE's after reading them sounds to me like it does......don't want to change meds only to have the same problems...................

She needs approval since I am early stage, and not stage 1V......she has already gotten approval for another early stage woman.........could use some opinions and advice.........

    i am on faslodex have had 3injections. I have a bad throat and cough also a bad back ache. I believe these to be the side effects pls check with your doc

    Thanks Sahoonja........I have been reading up on it, and don't like some of the things I am seeing....of course all this change depends on approval, as I said I am early stage, and it would not be indicated for me, unless there was approval.....

    Also read about muscle and joint pain.....I have that now......so I guess the point is "why change" just to have the same problems......

    hi I am going to be switching from A /A to faslodex once approved.. I would like to be able to read up on the meds and side effects  but cant get there

    Rosie, there is a "Faslodex girls 2014" thread that has a lot of information. Sorry, I'm never successful in posting links but you should find it in the Stage IV forum.

    Ducky, I think I posted this in another thread where you asked this question. Did you find the thread? And, more important, are you going to start Faslodex?

    Leah.....my MO gave me 2 months to think about it.......I am so confused about all AI's, I am ready to just stop all of it..............Tired of the SE's and no QOL.........that in addition to LE.............guess I should be happy I'm not worse..........all I want is 1 good day..........it is either severe pain, pain you can handle, or hmmm today just my knees, back, and feet hurt..........depressing.........

    Ducky, I can't really help.  There is advice on how to TAKE Faslodex with no pain, but no way to guarantee you won't get side-effects.

    I take an AI and zoledronic acid and Faslodex.  My basic side-effects are that I feel 20 years older, but I have no pain.  Stiff joints in the morning and that's it.

    To each their own side-effects.  Faslodex works by a different mechanism than AIs so it's possible (probable??) you won't see the same effects, but if your side-effects are more due to the loss of estrogen than by any direct relation to the drug, you may still have joint pain.  There's just no way to know without trying.

    Comforting, isn't it?

    I have been on Faslodex since January. I am lucky to have no noticeable side effects. It also stopped my progression and now am considered stable. Wilsie
