ah, Cheryl and Red, you're so sweet and so welcome!

Day 129 (5/9): I'm grateful I found something that settled my stomach and medicine strong enough to make me sleep most of the past 24 hours (migraine) and that i feel well enough to look at the ipad now.

Day 130 (5/10): grateful I was at home before I got sick instead of going out to see my parents as I had planned and getting sick there

    May 10, Day 130,

Today I am grateful that I was able to put my mom's mind more at ease by taking her to the restoration place to see her furniture and make some decisions about what to keep and what to toss. She sounded much happier when she called me this morning.

Maddy, a migraine one day and sick the next? You poor girl. I hope you feel much better soon.

Ok, off to open the pool now. That is both a yay and a sigh. Lots of work but good when it is all open.

Hi everyone!  Just caught up on all the pages that I have missed.....lol.....bad girl me!

I am grateful that all the organizing for my knee replacement surgery is done and I am now just waiting for the day to arrive (31st May).   I am grateful that I now have my new hearing aid and I must say it's really lovely to be able to hear everything once again.    I am grateful that the new fire has been installed and is warming my house beautifully!   No more hot room/cold room.....yipeeee!!!!

There are loads more things I am grateful for but the most important one is I am grateful to be alive!

    Love n hugs all!    Chrissy

Red, you're right, lots of work but great fun for the family. We opened ours about a week ago, chemicals are finally right and ready to swim but it's a rainy weekend in Georgia.

I'm grateful for a restful rainy day, it's been a long week.

5/10- I am grateful I am coming off my go live shift in a short hour! Whoot whoot!

Red, thanks for the good wishes. I am off again tomorrow and plan some good downtime. I read your note too about your PCP making you feel like he was no longer there for you. I consider my PCP the foundation to my wellness, and she knows me better than all the ones who have not been in the picture for very long around the bc stuff. I think we get sent to the specialists with bc and they think we are getting cared for, but so much else happens to us along the way that we need their care and continuity in our lives. I totally get it.

Happy Mothers Day one and all!

Red she's 21. Maddy I'm sorry the migraine 'got' you, they are a bear, hope by now you're feeling much better. Chrissy good to know you've got everything lined up ready to go.

Well today I'm grateful that I haven't killed Hannah's boyfriends dog. Back story - he turned up last night at 10pm with his dog. I had to get up at 5am this morning to help my neighbor move heavy items outside for a garage sale, of course animals have to be fed first, oops no he didn't bring any food with him, okay he can eat our dogs food, so then I go next door, come back two hours later to make myself a cup of tea and the dog has been in and out of the pool numerous times and walked all through the house wet,  and of course the kids are still in bed.  He's a very big goofy Labrador so all I could do was mop up wash the floor (again) and laugh, cause if I didn't laugh I'd cry!!!!

I am grateful for "family time" as we call it at our house. We all sit together on the sofa, watch TV, eat popcorn, laugh and talk. It's good for my soul.

sorry if I was confusing, I was hurting. To clarify, the migraine made me sick. The last 2 days all I've done is sleep. If nothing else, I need to start getting fluids in me. The migraine's gone, still a headache, dizzy and chills. Did manage to eat a bit. No fun.

I am grateful that I had a great mom & got the opportunity to be a mom myself Smile. And I am also grateful for all women who act as mentors, guides and role models to the children in their lives; be it their own children, nephews & nieces, students, the children of friends.....

5/11- grateful for some nice time on the patio this morning.

I like Ruthbrus tribute to the ones who mentor the younger generation (do it often myself!) I think Mothers Day has a broader meaning to honor all women who often do a lot of "mothering" in their roles at work, with friends, other family members, their churches, and other communities. Here is to all you fine women who give a lot of yourselves every day.

May 11/Day 131: grateful I am improving (only a headache, dizziness and chills in 80+ degree weather, mid-70's in the house). Grateful that Mr 2TA made breakfast and dinner.

May 12, day 132, Fibro Awareness Day

Today I am grateful for my youngest DD, who suffers daily from Fibro. She is a strong and lovely woman who really doesn't deserve such pain.

I am grateful for the 2 hour nap I just woke up from. (I never nap; but it is cold, windy, rainy, I am tired, and had nothing I that I absolutely needed to get done.....felt nice.)

I'm grateful to have received a text today from my sister, asking me to pick her up at the airport. Me, my mom, and my sisters only child haven't seen her in about 4 years, she didn't even come home when dad died in July. I'm looking forward to her visit.

And Ruth, you are so right. My sisters daughter gave me a necklace that she had made for me, for Mother's Day.  It says " I owe everything I am everything I hope to be to you". She's 30 now, married, with a child of her own, and told stories at a get together yesterday of how Aunt Susie was a mom to her. Some of the things she told I had completely forgotten about, but she hadn't. My sister did the best she could, but had issues of her own, so I stepped in when needed, never wanting to cross the mom line, but not letting my niece be without or be in bad situations either. I do believe that made a huge difference in my niece daughters life. My sister is a good person but she has struggled with addiction her whole life. There are a lot of good people out there in bad situations that need help, need mentoring. Sometimes you can't do anything with the adults, but the children will grow up to become mothers and fathers someday too.

One persons influence can make a difference in a child's life, be it a family member, a neighbor, or a friend.

Susie, it's wonderful you could be there AND that you are appreciated!

Day 132/May 12: I am very grateful my DD is safe at home after her car battery died on the school campus (maybe 25 miles from here), thanks to AAA who helped jump her battery and didn't make her wait too long. Also grateful to DH who went out and bought a new battery while she was driving home and he already installed it.

    Cheryl, ThumbsUp
