Sorry Chevy, I went to bed.
I know it can always be worse. This lymphedema makes me worry about my job and other things. It's most swollen in my left upper arm. My arm hurts from mid forearm to my shoulder when I raise it. Does anything help the pain, JWoo or anyone?
JWoo you are loving TWT, aren't you? Blueberry looking like he's so excited that its tough for him to stay sitting.
-
Dutch..the lady who volunteers where I get treatment just had a new procedure where the took a lymph node from the other side of her neck by clavicle I think and put it in her arm to help the drainage. Just happened last month. use to where a sleeve that was the color of her arm and then wrapped it in some thick quilted sleeve at night. That all helped her. But know is excited about this new surgical produce she had. I will let u know how she is doing. If I forget to keep u updated please remind me
Have a good day owlettes

Good Morning Girls!
Sitting here having my morning coffee on my screen porch watching the dove that landed in a flower pot on my deck two days ago. She hopped up in there, sqirmed around a little it and voila, she had 2 eggs under her.
Unlike Chevy, I did not snatch rm and go make an omelette!
I had a morning coffee photo all picked out, but DH is home and SICK. He has the office and big computer And I don't want to go near him! So tablet it is and since it is a dinosaur I can't do pics from here. Finally figured it out on my phone though!
Sas! How was the wine? Don't forget to cook your steak over charcoal! Blue? Hmmmm... Hope it isn't sumptin having to do with DBF
Chevy, I will stick with you and Cami any day! Birds of a feather and all that Do they grow THAT catnip in Colorado too?
Cami, what chew smellin' like today?
JWoo, cute puppy! I miss not having a fur baby. Might have to fix that soon. Won't get a phsycotic one this time though!
Dutch, I feel you on the LE. It has been the MOST frustrating thing out of all this. Well at least until I lost my right fin! My LE comes and goes. It was really bad before my swap surgery. Then got better. It would flare up from time to time, but over all pretty good. Then I lost my fin and my arm got skinny again! Now it is starting to flare. SO ÜBER frustrating. I mean it's not like turning BLUE frustrating, but still!
AND my swelling is mostly in my hand under the ring and pinky fingers. Then my wrist gets small and then my lower arm swells some but it stops at my elbow! Sicks because none of the compression we have tried, even the hideous wrapping like a mummy on roids has helped the hand. And of course I am right handed and have my hands in something messy all the time. (yes, Zigwillpickuponthat!). I hope they get you sorted better than that.
And speaking of roids! I must be the only one that can take them and go take a nap. They did nothing for me when I was taking than for chemo except help me gain weight I didnt need and give me acne! We cut back the dose by the third chemo. Of course the doctor wasn't aware he had altered the dose until I told him he had done that.
Blondie! I concur. You should be FierceBlondie cuz you fight like FBB. You girls kick ass. And I have seen your beautiful picture! You glow, and I don't mean in the dark like Sas!
Phylliethattheyletleave. How did the eval go? Or did they just chip your ankle with wifi somyouncould keep us updated? Where in NE you be? I graduated HS from Hastings!
Nettie and 2TA hope you girls have a great day.
Paw, that is sweet you are taking the day so your doggie can hear your voice after the surgery. I'm thinking (scary, I know!) that it will be a relief to be without the pain since unfortunately the sight is already gone. So just losing the pain is a good thing. I'll be in your pocket at the vets!
Apologies to those I missed! DH, office, SICK, no big computer all means no scanning back a page
Off to bake muffins for the kindergartner's "muffins for Mom" tomorrow!
Have a great day ladies!
-
Hi Susan!
Interesting about that lady, I will look out 4 updates! I am going for a consult for node transplanting too! I have the glove/sleeve thing and the giant oven mit for sleeping too. Works ok, but it still doesn't help my hand which of course stumps everyone!
So tired of being the interesting patient. Some days normal and boring have their perks!

How's about I supply morning coffee this morning? Can only be on a short while. I think a serious line of storms moving in. Tang a Rang are you getting rain too? We got a little this morning enough to wet the grass good that's all. Surely not the amount predicted.
I have to bake something too for prayer meeting tonight. I think it's called "salted chews" though more like a rice krispie treat. I'm probably the only mom who did not make those - I really think they're evil personified. Don't get me wrong - love sugar and chocolate. Just nothing about marshmallow held together rice krispies is enticing. But I bought all the stuff to make these a while back so might at well.
I actually have a pot of zinnias growing I planted from seeds. I keeping hiding them up under a bench when it storms then putting them back out. Must have 5 of those shallowy dish garden types.
-
Good morning! Had my radiation blast yesterday. Feeling pretty good today other than some blurry vision. One more full body dose tomorrow for the PET scan. My husband said when they find out how many pets I actually have, we're in trouble. LOL
-
4 - I suppose they didn't let me leave so much as they had a lapse in security.
I live in Mc Cook and had to go go Kearney for the eval. I haven't been to Hastings yet but I think I have a training class there next week.
Bluebird and Blueberry-both beautiful! And blues is beautiful music. And I have blue nail polish this week.

trying to catch up yet again. This thread moves so fast! Sinus headache, 3 hours sleep, brain not functioning (worse than usual). Cool and overcast here, only about 60*, want to crawl back in bed for a couple hours sleep! but too much to do.
Saw this and thought of y'all (you know who I'm taking to):
-
My yearly mammogram results, OK!
-
Woohoo, Teka! Yippeeeeeeee -
Okay the secret is "Looking for the music in the blues". I was thinking that when I chose the avatar, but just made the phrase up. I kind of like it. Works.
I was going to change to a bluebird for FBB, and my file disappeared. So, I might be the Blues for a awhile
Hole-in-One beautiful. Gorgeous family. OMG it seems like yesterday. Our kids are effectively the same age. OH I need a naap
BBL

Yeah teka hoot hoot hoot hoot yahoot -
I've finally made it here today----goofy day--Well my GF stopped by for coffee so we had some good stuff to talk about. It got how 86 and the kids turned on the a/c, I'm cold but I can always cover up which I am.
Oh LE mor fun that a pile of monkees all over u. I have a sleeve, hand and compressed stockings, which I rarely wear mor trouble getting them on and off and I learned how--I's no fun but I just tell people I'm not fat just swollen, it kind of works too. Not well but maybe someone believes me. But not working makes a big difference cuz I don't move it to much when it hurts some, I do do the excercises for it, but who knows.
Oh 444 I smell like chit today no shower, didn't feel like it. But tomorrow I'll have a fresh smell for all of u. I'm going to use my body butter instead of lotion. I'll surprise u with the name tomorrow--such excitement I give to all.
Sas how are u doing. We have a lot of glowing going on here. WTF.
I've been so so tired maybe it's the infection I have IDK--I just can't stay awake very long. I have to go to Wlgreens when Leslie comes back from the store. I've been using Neosporin for another infection on my skin but it not working--it's around my sides of my Vagina--funny word--it bleeds sometimes when it gets itchy and I thought now I'd use some baby powder, I think it's some type of yeast infection, but it's not inside it's only on my skin, I forget to show the Dr. which I did take antibiotics for it before-o I'll try my own concoction, I see another Dr, in a couple of weeks so if I still have it I'll show it to her. If I know what I is, I would think any Dr. would know specially a GIST Dr. Whatever.
He Chevy I understood almost everything I read today, either I'm getting smarter or--no I don't want to insult anyone. Bwhahahahahaha
OK I'm going out then going bak to sleep and sometime during this adventure I think I'm going to throw up. I'm so visual for what I do.
Hey what's everybody doing for Mommy's day?
-
THANK YOU CHEVSTER! I LOVE IT!
and YAY Teka!
-
for Chevy (I think)
Great news Teka!
-
yea Teka!!!! WooHoo
-
Tang A Rang - hope you are safe and hunkered down. See tornado warning for Garland and headed out your way. Check in later please.
-
Yesterday, I had yearly mammogram and was told to wait for a possible call back
or an OK letter in the mail next week
, then the kind X-Ray Tech suggested I call MO at the Cancer Center for the results this afternoon.
Lucky Me, the kind MO Nurse got permission from MO to get the results!
-
Ok, I skipped ahead for this..luvmygoats...you mentioned rice krispie treats..I hate the marsh mallow ones but I have a recipe for them made with peanut butter..they are to die for in my book.
Ok. Now I'll finish catching
-
congrats, Teka!! Where I go now, they give me the results before I leave the bldg. MUCH less stressful!
Do any of you ever go back and reread your original diagnosis? I did today. Didn't realize how much of it I totally didn't understand at the time. Still it's awfully depressing to reread, so I don't highly recommend doing so. Turns out I had both ductal and lobular, and though I didn't have over expression of HER2, about 10% of the cells were positive for it.
SAS, I LOVED your response to your friend. BTW, my Mom, aunt and grandmother never drank AT ALL. All three had breast cancer, and 2 of them died of it.
Nettie - about that recipe for peanut butter rice crispy treats.......
-
fantastic!
-
Jwoo..I'm jealous over your hair.Wish mine would grow faster.
Aren't the scarves the best?
-
Ok.the recipe
1 cup sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
Put both in boiler, bring just to rolling boil (mixture will start to turn clear)
Remove from heat. Add
1 cup peanut butter
Mix well. Add
6 cups rice krispies
Stir. Spread in buttered pan
Now this recipe can be broken down to make smaller amounts.
The portion I make is single serve just for me. I use:
1 tbsp sugar, 1tbsp syrup, 1 tbsp peanut butter and 3/8 cup of cereal.
Then I eat then while they are warm. Yum yum
-
omg Nettie- that sounds so yummy! gonna have to try it.
My hair is growing so slow too. My last chemo was in late august of last year. i am taking biotin to help it a bit, but, my hair used to grow so dang fast. Now it is taking forever. I am happy I have curls for the first time in my life. I hope i get to keep them!
-
My last chemo was in August also. And the hair is very slow.
This is Elly, she is my diabetic baby.
-
Another beauty from Chevy, I like the way u twirled it Jwow--they so pretty and sparkly fun.
Uh Peanut butter rice Krispies??? Sounds good.to me.
No I never read my bio of Cancer---u see how long it is, so I don't get reminded at all. hahaha
I've been busy today with the phone--usually Thursday are super slow for some reason, not today--oh maybe cuz it got so warm, very fast too fast.
oops phone

gardengumby,
I had clear margins from Lumpectomy and cancer free sentinel lymph nodes.
I was happy until reading the following on the 2010 *Surgical Pathology Report*.
Foci suspicious for lymphvascular invasion are present.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*So I looked up the following from Dr. Susan Love!*
What is lymphovascular invasion? How does it differ from having positive nodes? And how does it affect my treatment choices?
When
a pathologist examines tissue removed during a lumpectomy or
mastectomy, one of the things she looks to see is whether cancer cells
are present in any of the blood vessels or lymphatic vessels. If they
are, it is referred to as vascular invasion, lymphatic invasion, or
lymphovascular invasion (LVI).
A woman can have lymphovascular
invasion but not have positive lymph nodes. This could be because the
invasion hasn't spread to the lymph nodes or because it has bypassed the
nodes and moved on to other areas of the body.
When LVI is
present, doctors assume this means that the cancer has acquired the
genetic mutation it needs to create its own blood vessels, a process
called angiogenesis. Because a tumor that has the ability to create its
own blood vessels may have already begun to spread cancer cells to other
parts of the body, the presence of LVI is an indicator that treatment
should most likely include chemotherapy or hormone therapy (if the tumor
is hormone sensitive). -
Teka....YAY!!!!!!!!! Congratulations! Another milestone! I dread them every year....
Sassy.... You sound just like my Brother.... He always says, "Let the music move you..." Just feel it... but when I'm "blue", the last thing I want to hear is blue music...Ha!
I want to hear something like Kool and the Gang sing Celebration!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rw1P7gdtAeY
But I like your Avatar....!!
Oh NO! Cammi had a "goofy day"..... SHE said it you guys.... I didn't!
Okay, seriously, I have Sigvaris knee-hi stockings, for my left ankle, which swells up like a balloon, when it has a mind to.... I order them online.... and I also bought that stocking contraption that helps you put them on! Once you learn it, it's a snap! REALLY helps my legs! It also keeps you from getting clots.... so maybe this will help?
And I always use body butter, or heavy creams, mixed with that 40% zinc oxide from Super Target! Sometimes I add Mentholatum, because it is "cooling" .... But Vaseline and Bag Balm really helps also!
Cammi, my Daughter and I are really allergic to Neosporin.... just sayin!
Can you use that Monistat stuff? Inside and out? That should work better.... If you take antibiotics, that WILL cause a yeast infection.... I know that one for sure.... So eat lots of yogurt also!
You have to throw up? Good Lord, you are a HAND-full! I don't know what else to do to help you! But I love you even WITH all your faults!
Yes JWOW! What a cutie you are! I'm so happy you like your scarf! You have to wear it everyday.... even to Walmart.... Ha! And yes! I love your hair! I've heard from other women, that their hair DOES grow back curly! Mine is as straight as a stick.... I didn't have chemo though, either.
Miss Smarty-pants! You KNOW that chicken was for me...
That's so funny, because I watch "our" squirrels every morning! Them and the birds that we feed! They have "feeders" hanging on our fence.... I'll take pictures.... and they are so funny, scrambling to eat, and chase each other away! They stare into our kitchen window, with that hungry look on their face, and so I have to get dressed and take their tray of food out, every morning!
Okay gals.... talk to you in the morning! xoxoxoxo
You gals, stay out of the Tornado's! They pop up ANYwhere!
So Teka.... have you heard yet? I just HATE that waiting!.... Yes, me too GG! I know before I leave the place... I think that is with the "diagnostic mammogram.."
