Yay Soteria205! I'm so happy for ya'll. The job market has been horrible.

Today I'm grateful for DH who has been doing all the cooking and cleaning while I've been down with pneumonia, even though, bless his heart, he didn't even know how to turn the dishwasher on.

Soteria, congrats to you and your husband. What a relief for you both.

Pink - pocket party when we know your date! We'll all be there, wear something with lots of pockets.

{{{{{{gentle hugs}}}}}} Onco. Hope your massage helps.

Susie. Lol, you actually typed ya'll. That is super to know it isn't just an accent but a way of being. Your DH definitely sounds like a keeper.

    Have a nice evening.

Grateful for an oncologist who has much patience and tolerates my some times non-compliance and stubbornness and goes with my humor

    Congrats  Soteria!

Day 120: I am grateful for the help I got from the staff at the local pet supply store, lifting 40 pounds of cat litter in my cart and then into the truck. Also grateful there is a great produce store close to my house.

    Wonderful news, Soteria!

Red, I'm southern to the bone. Born & raised in the Georgia mountains. If you have ever watched Jeff Foxworthy, you've seen my childhood.  :)

Today I'm grateful to have a semi clear head this morning, not walking crooked when I go to the bathroom or feeling like the psycodelic stay puff marshmallow man.

    May 1, Day 131

Today I am grateful for my DH, who tried really hard yesterday and had dinner almost ready when I got home at 7 pm. Unfortunately, by then, I was too tired and in too much pain to eat it. Sorry baby.

    Ruth, I agree.

Mods, thanks for your kind comment.

Susie - Jeff Foxworth - if you've ever worn a parka and shorts, you might be from Canada.

Maddy, hooray for helpful store staff.

Nel, what a wonderful endeavor. As you say, tiring but so worthwhile.

Well, I just had a very nice thing happen. The doorbell rang, and when I opened it, there were some flowers on the doorstep, I went around the side of the house and in the driveway stood a lady (whom I didn't know) and her four small kids who said, "Darn it, she caught us.". They are just going from house to house randomly leaving May Day flowers!!! So I am grateful for parents who are teaching their kids the joy of random acts of kindness!  (And it makes me want to do something nice for somebody else too)

5/1- Grateful for all the nice compliments I got at work today!

Ruthbru, love the story about the May day flowers. I love to hear those pay it forward nice things folks do for others (and we need more of that in the world).

    Day 121, 5/1

Very odd day, an emotional roller coaster. First, I am grateful for a realization while on the exercise bike. Have been diligent all week about making time and notice increase in time spent or distance in the same amount of time. I remember when I started months ago, 5 minutes was the max, and at a leisurely pace. Now up to 15 minutes and I am pleased with my progress. Have been upset with myself that I can't get around to a second session in a day. Duh, maybe that's too much right now, should ease into. Start with baby steps. That's why I wouldn't post on the exercise thread, felt it wasn't good enough to be on a thread with the ladies there.

Then, with the strong windy blast furnace outside, grateful I can do my exercise without leaving the house, still in my pj's if I want. Notice that my attitude has changed too: would totally ignore the bike in the front room, now I'm looking forward to getting it done early on (we'll see how that works tomorrow if DD comes home tonight as Friday she sleeps in late and I'm embarrassed to get on the bike with Mr 2TA in the house).

Now the funny part of the story. As I wrote, we've had the hot strong winds here (there's been a big fire on the news, it's about 20 miles north of here so we have the crazy winds and heat here too so no chance of going walking with the smoky stuff in the air). So, I'm on the bike and I hear a loud crash outside, jumped off the bike in such a way that I hurt myself and messed up the seat's position. Still don't know what it was (may have been at the next door neighbor.). Went to get back on the bike - big ouch, way out of position (let's just say I couldn't sit on it), not enough strength to fix (hubby did when he got home). Anyway, turns out I hurt something when I abruptly jumped off. Ouch

Will leave the other part of the roller coaster ride for tomorrow, this is already long enough.

Ruth, what a wonderful story! Great  neighbors (or strangers) in your area

Ruth what a lovely story. Maddy you so should come over to Let's Post our Daily Exercise, doesn't matter what you do the main thing is you do.

Today I'm grateful I was able to get the dog into the vets office immediately this morning, as Maddy said we are having hot dry windy weather and the poor dog got an absolutely horrible red weepy hot spot, so the poor guy got shaved and bathed and shot full of antibiotics and he's sitting now with his 'cone of silence' on and a very dejected look on his face - he's a very good actor, he's milking it for all it's worth asking for and getting plenty of his favourite chicken jerky treats.

Today I am grateful for a wonderful meal with about 20 others from various bc organizations in our city. Expensive but good. Lots of good conversation too.

Day 18...I'm grateful for the Internet so that I can connect to all of you wonderful women.

Ruth when I was in the 3rd grade (circa 1958) I was voted May Day Queen by my class. We had a party, I wore a tiara all day, had 2 ladies in waiting, and got to choose my dance partner for the May Pole Dance. "Memories"

5/2- grateful for the warm sunny day with NO wind and how lovely my back yard and gardens are looking!

2nd time-we have had bad winds here too in NM the past week They finally stopped and it has been better but I always hear things banging around outside when the winds are high. It does startle you! Keep up the good work on the exercise front!

ok, Cheryl, I think you have me convinced. Come of Silence or Cone of Shame?

Ruth, how thoughtful! I don't usually answer the door if I can avoid it (too many sales pitches) so it's' cool you got them fresh and not wait to find them

So do we now refer to you as Queen Soteria?

Grateful for a son who seems to be moving out of the dark tunnel he has been in for about 4 years.  Not a kid who is going to go to college, at least not now, but figuring out his way in the world.
