Another 80 degree day today - but more important is that all 22 guests are gone. Got to put both houses back together. Just walked in my room to a pile of beanie babies, a baggie of Cheerios, and some hair clips....makes me teary for my little girls. The oldest is quite the little parrot these days and spent a day and a half asking to go to the liquor store after hearing DH mention he had to make a run to restock. She is in major love with her Papa and he with her. It's adorable. DIL ended up being her usual nightmare self. DS was great, DD was great.
The party was fantastic and FIL was very, very pleased. I'll share some pictures of all the decor when I can, but I am proud of myself
Ok, one load of wash down, about four more to go.....sheets, towels, and making of the beds. There's not an area of my house that isn't a mess but I'll get through it. Willing to pay that price for time with the precious two wee ones.
More when we are clean....

I feel so bad........I thought I told you ladies about Marywh...............her daughter contacted me and a couple others yesterday to tell us that her mother was going into hospice yesterday.............I swear I thought I posted it here yesterday, even told FK I did.............I guess I'm not as sharp as I thought I was......
I will keep you posted as to how she is doing......please pray for her, she needs so many prayers....for those who knew her, I needn't say anything.......
For those who did not have the honor to know her, she was loving, compassionate, fought so hard and was on her 11th round of Chemo which was not working.......we prayed so hard that it would........she gave it all she had...........please pray for her family and her grandson who she loved so much.....

My DD is in the midst of finals. Yesterday she texted me saying yesterday's exam was awful...beyond awful. I hope it wasn't really as bad as she thinks - but sadly, she has been correct in the past. And that exam wasn't even in her worst course. If she doesn't do well enough this semester, she will end up on the dismissal list. We can still appeal, but obviously it would be easier if she didn't end up on the list...
She has a physical next week at which I will beg the doctor to help us find doctors to help her figure out what her issue(s) is. I don't know where to take her. She should be assessed for adhd and also some sort of analysis to find out why she has such difficulty on tests - is she not studying the right material? Is she not studying thoroughly? Does she not understand the questions? Does she not understand the multiple choice answers? Does she really not understand the material? But now we have to deal with the anxiety she has developed as well.
I feel sick and helpless.

Sorry chris
CHECKING IN at chemo as we speak

Christ I have a grandaughter that threw up every night before a test the next day...........she went to the Catholic University in D.C. after HS, and did somedays the same thing before testing.
She was in nursing school, and drove her mother nuts on the phone, crying saying I can't do this, I don't want to be here, before all her clinicals............guess what.......she graduated nursing school with a 4.0 GPA, honors program, and started immediately after graduation at Children's Hospital of PHila. in the Neo-natal intensive care unit.......that was 3 years ago.
So there is hope.................keep the faith............it will happen......
-
Congrats to your granddaughter. Your family is amazing. I don't see that level of success in DD's future, but I hope we can figure out what her issues are and what her true capabilities are so she can be successful. I just hope she can stay in this school while she figures it out. We will be starting next week with her physical. I just hope for once the Dr will be helpful.

Christ..........Kids surprise you........after having 6 kids and 18 grandchildren, and now 4 G.grandchildren, I find they sometimes surprise you with how they finally realize what their roll in life will be...........
Trust me I have seen both success and failure in my family, but the important thing is everytime they fail, they learn from it and start over....everyone has a calling, finding what it is, is the most important thing...
I am sure your daughter will find what her talent is and go on to be everything she can be...........it does take time.....and according to what I have read......most kids don' find their niche in life and mature completely till the age of 22-25............sounds crazy, but its true............hugs..

(((TOL))) Happy Mothers Day week end.
Chris, this is hard for DD and for you too. I am sorry she is struggling with these tests. I agree that the medical work up can help shed light on this frustration. Meanwhile, whatever happens, it is not the end of anything...just a new approach to a set of problems.
Thinking of everyone here...and thinking of our Moms who gave us life and our foundations.
Hugs to all... -
Shiela have fun on u r first mother's day as a grandmother

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers, grandmothers, and great grandmothers!I'm working 2-6 (grumble grumble) but I visited my mother Saturday and the kids will go over Sunday after church and lunch with my MIL and FIL. So even if her daughter didn't visit on the right day, the grandkids will - she will be happy to see them.
