(((TOL))) all had a Happy Mother's Day...
Chris, sorry you had to work. I am sure your mother will enjoy having 2 days of company.
Last week of work for me...then a week away! Then back to work for the month of June.
Off to sleep now.... -
TOL!!! -
♥ TOL ♥
I had my Isabel today
DD is back to work once a week and I'm very happy because I'm spoiling, loving the baby for 8 hours
OMG I love her so much
-
Oh Sheila, that is a very special time with the baby - she must be so beautiful to hold and just watch for hours. What a wonderful blessing for you! Take lots of photos and don't forget to share.
She will grow quickly...Hi TOL
Ahh tomorrow is my last day of classes. Thursday is grading. Friday is work in the AM then finally getting away from all this craziness.
-
So happy you are able to spend time with Isabel. I can feel your happiness through your words.
Glad you will be able to have a break, Joan. Hope you don't have to work too many hours per week in June.
(((((TOL))))
-
Chris, haha...I designed a 5 week science course for summer...I used to work 8 weeks then I'd only have 3 weeks free...so this way I have at least 6 weeks off. BUT in order to get through this, I will be working M Tu W Th from about 9:30 AM (day job) and then 4:30 to 9 PM with some breaks...for 4 weeks, then just evenings for the last week.
It will be pretty bad that I can't get to the beach except on week ends but after the course is over and I get paid, well, then my summer could be great.
How is DD doing? I am afraid to ask with all the challenges she has had. Everything for a reason, somebody said...but sometimes we just never get the point of adversity.Anybody else around here?
Missing you...I AM SO HAPPY MY CLASSES ARE OVER AND I GET 2 WEEKS OFF...and a trip to visit my DS in Berkeley. I hear there is a heat wave...am not ready to be in summer clothes.
Meece, I think that would be affecting you pretty much...
Diane, are you still having the cool weather in the PNW?
Am up late cleaning and packing for my trip. Tomorrow I grade papers all day and submit grades so I can travel with nothing on my mind.Am a little nervous about the nasty virus that is allegedly transferred more easily on airplanes.
Hey, FK, can I borrow your mask? Also, 2" of rain predicted Friday so flying could be messy. -
Shiela beyond happy for u, where r the pix.. congrats on the babysitting job, trust me it is awesome, could u do more days if she wanted u to

-
I wish I could give you some of my tiredness and take away some of your wakefulness, Sandy. Escitalopram(Lexapro) makes me tired all the time...
Are you going away this Friday, Joan? If so, have a good flight and great time with DS.
I hope you had a great time at the concert, Sandy!
(((((((TOL)))))))
-
Sorry Chris that dd is giving u anxiety, concert was better then I expected she put on a wonderful show was impressed didn't expect it.

-
Thinkin of u today Blondie
With love
-
wow, quiet here on TOL...hope everyone is enjoying some nice spring weather.
Chris, I did travel on Friday. I was sick and flew feeling miserable...aches, exhausted, intestinal rumbles...Of course, the intestines are misbehaving and it's been 3 days now. I've been lying low but relaxing and enjoying DS's home. We are getting to know a new part of the Bay area here in Berkeley. I have not been eating so I'm missing out. Took meds today and feel a bit better. Maybe tomorrow I'll be able to eat and go out without worrying about finding a rest room. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Sandy, that concert must have been incredible. no problem with the wheelchair...you deserve a ride! Am thinking of a name.....what do you have so far? Hope you are feeling a lot better.
Diane, missing you....
FK missing you too...
Sheila, I think you never put the baby down....I can just picture you with your kind loving arms rocking her for hours! Enjoy it...she will grow fast. And every age gets better.
Off to sleep...DS is in the kitchen making beer...the place smells like hops. He's having fun though.
Weather's perfect here. -
(((TOL)))

Am feeling better. Am making up for not eating.
Miss y'all. -

-

YES
Me thinks Mother Nature finally got tired of playin all her games.
Ops
Betta watch out....freekin summer is right around the corner
Easy does it....70 all yr.round please
-
Yes - spring weather - so nice. Though I need it to be just the perfect temp - otherwise I'm either cold or hot. Not sure what that temp is - depends on the humidity I suppose - maybe a dry 75 degrees? 70 can be on the cool side... my internal thermostat is broken.
Hope the chemo wasn't too rough on you, Sandy.
I didn't get the Felix reference...duh...Felix and Oscar - cute - lol.
Been a rough 24+ hours. FIL passed away. Had a heart attack or his heart just gave out - not sure. He was 84.
I'm glad he was able to go to the kids' concerts this spring. He went to DS's last high school concert last Wednesday. He always liked to go to concerts. DS is sad that he won't be here for his graduation, but I tried to shift the focus to how much he enjoyed his concert the other day.
Sigh.
((((((TOL))))))
-
Oh Chris, that is sad...sorry to hear. You and DH have had quite a time with aging parents. It is so hard to believe that he just went to DS's concert and now he has left this world. I hope he had a good 84 years. Thoughts and prayers for your DH and you and kids. We are never quite ready for this.
Hugs for you...
Joan -
(((TOL)))
Missing all the friends here...wish you could check in. I know life changes, but you are all special to me.
Whatever you are doing today, make it count and take time for yourself and those you love.
Blondie is in the hospital this week - not sure why so say a prayer for her.
Hugs all around...
Joan
-
Oh - I didn't know about Sandy. I hope she is ok. thanks for the update.FIL's services were nice. DD played her trumpet during Lift High the Cross and DS read (or read from - not sure if it was the whole thing) Psalm 121. His Scout troop is number 121 - chosen for that Psalm. He had expressed sadness that FIL wouldn't be there for his graduation- I wasn't thinking about it at the time (since my brain doesn't work and I don't think of things in a timely manner anymore), but he won't be there for DS's Eagle Court of Honor when he becomes an Eagle Scout either. Well, FIL knew he was going to finish it, so that is something I guess. DH and his two brothers are Eagle Scouts. And our nephew is a Cub scout - so the scouting tradition continues.
I hope everyone is ok and just busy enjoying the warmer weather.
(((((((TOL)))))))
-
