Thanks Kad2kar!
I'm getting ready to go as I write this. Wanted to wish everyone a great weekend before I leave. I'll try to keep up with everyone while I'm gone. Hopefully, I can figure that out on my iPhone.
love and hugs,
Bren

Bren....sure hope you have a super-fantastic time. California should be really nice this time of yr. You probably are not going to notice that.....at least not too soon.
Going to be in the 80's here today. Oh joy !!!! Lots of things will jut pop out with the sun and warmth....not that a lot hasn't made an appearance already, but I think those trees buds will find staying un-opened nearly impossible. Sure hope so.
Heads up to anyone with their warm weather. Drat, and more drat. Didn't want to say anything before Bren left but I have already found a tick well attached on the back of my leg just below my knee. Never had one this early before and don't know quite from where it came. I really felt the harsh winter we have just come through would have done a number on "those" critters. This must have been a really hardy one to have got through all that and start Spring out with a bang -- on my leg. Hope nothing comes of it.

Happy travels, bren -

Sad day for our congregation yesterday. I watched our 140 year old church burn on live coverage on the internet. My family have been active members since my grandparents moved to the small town of Aurora as newlyweds. Roofers were repairing a leak. I can't imagine how horrible they must be feeling.
-
I saw that too pip. Very sad!
-
I am so sorry to hear that, Pip. So very sad.
-
Pip - the roofers started the fire? Whenever I see pictures of my small town in the 1800's, hardly any of the cool buildings still remain today. It always ends in a fire, it seems.
Do you have the link?
-
Pip, I am so sorry. Prayers for you and your congregation for healing and strength for rebuilding.
-
I can't post a link but if you google "Aurora United church fire" it should come up. I will have together my dh to show me how to post links and pics on my iPad.
-
Oh my.....I'm so sorry Pip. After all those years --- and such a short time for it all to be gone. Fire is such a dangerous thing. I think I have heard now of two or three instances now where repairs to save a structure ended like this one. Lots of positive and healing energies.

I just saw the story on the news. Devastating.
-
aw, pip, that is just so sad! I, too, can imagine how terrible the roofers feel to be responsible for such a tragedy,
-
Good Sunday morning.....we are going to have warmth, but probably lots of clouds and rain later. Then, ahem, cold tomorrow. Yikes, but that is Spring. We are hoping there is no snow along with the cold.
Really....found another tick on me this morning. Worrisome to me. I don't recall ever getting them this early. I'm starting to think.......maybe they are coming off the dogs who go out quite a lot. I don't feel I'm spending time out of doors anyplace that would have them be so easy to find you. The grass is still quite short and no real leaves on the trees. There are some bushes that have leaves now, but I don't get around them. Sigh !!!!! Hope this is not going to stay an issue. I'm already amazed that we had the winter we did.......and now this problem so soon.

Oh, PiP, I am so sorry to hear your sad news about your church! How heartbreaking for the congregation! (((((PiP)))))
-
Pip, so sorry to hear about your church.
-
Pip, so sorry. I've never had a church home, although I am highly spiritual, but I can just imagine the devastation you and the other congregation members are experiencing.
-
I just saw that Chickadee passed away. I will remember her every time I hear a bird sing.
-
-
Nooooooooooooooo - something I did not want to read - poor sweet Chickadee -
So sad about this. Somehow I never thought we would lose her.
-
Shocked to see the news. Even though I feel it is not so much death, but a transition to something far, far better, still the emotions are always of loss and sadness. You still mourn and are not ever quite ready. I was about ready to find my bird picture for the day and make an entry on her hospice page. It really does seem way too soon. RIP.
Jackie
-
Jackie, I so agree with you. Chicky is in a much better place. The rest of us have to flounder around in the vast illusion, but someday we will be free also.
-
I am heartbroken. Sending love and comfort to all.

-
The loss of our church building is dwarfed by the loss of our friend Chickadee.
-
So very sad - good night Chickie - we love you.
-
I come here, as I did after the loss of Athena, to give all of you my love. Chick was such a strong presence, a force, as was Athena. It's no surprise that this was her second home, and that you all were some of her favorite people! Wow, will she be missed by all of us. Peace to everyone tonight...
Rose.
-
While taking my horse out to the pasture last night, a Chickadee flew ahead of us and perched on the pasture gate. It reminded me so of our dear friend.
We will miss you, Chickadee. Rest peacefully.
:-(
-
so so sad.
-
it just hurts.
