Fireworks, Ameron, you were both missed and hope things get better swiftly for your families! The newest to join us today is jg10. It was lovely to meet and converse with you.
Another great get-together was had today...those attending - jg10; Galsal; AnnAlive; nbnotes; FLwarrior; Lee7; DLL66; and MondaysChild.
Thanks for the lift home, FLwarrior!
-
thanks GalSal,
I washed towels all day and moped!! Pups are little better today although my Daffodil, chihuahua also started throwing up in the after noon. Lots of ice chips, white rice and boiled chicken!
I look forward to the next time!
-
Sorry to have missed you friends! My friend is dealing with a seroma and required aspiration and IV Vancomycin - I know you all sympathize - I sure hope to make the next gathering and I wish I could have been there!
-
So good to see those of you who could join the cheesecake-fest. Great conversation -- comparing notes on LE helped me, and if I noticed correctly, all 8 of us who attended have (or had) LE, so our odds were 100%. Who knew -- maybe lovers of cheesecake get LE; need a new study.
Nice to meet our newcomer, jg10, and want to ask you more about your research and upcoming book on adrenals/thyroid/hormones. I'll PM you. I look forward to seeing others who missed -- next time.
-
yes, the topic of adrenals/thyroid/hormones is intriguing jg10. keep us posted!
-
AnnAlive, interesting observation about the LE! Thank goodness we all seem to be managing it pretty well.
It was great to see you all again & hope to catch up with those that couldn't make it at the next gathering.
Just realized that it is March 1st & I have had 0 medical appointments this year so far! Progress.
-
DLL, it is April 5th and I have only had four medical appointments this month!
XXX
When is the next lunch? I so hope I can come. Shout out to our Special K, who had sx this week. She is a champion. The ninth time is the charm!
-
bobo - thanks! I am looking forward to our next lunch too! My PS suggested that if this not work we are out of implant recon options. How are you feeling? Getting some energy back?
-
No I am not
I am your negative friend!
However, I am working on it. For example, met with shrink (to discuss extreme body image issues), had PT, yoga for first time tomorrow (easy yoga), protein shake this morning, just had homemade lunch you would be proud of (curried chickpea recipe from vegetarian magazine). And I am going to order a special mala to strengthen and support me with my many issues. Don't you think that sounds like a good idea?
Something must work, don't you think? Hope you are slumming in front of tv, eating soup, and not mommin' it this weekend. DH home tomorrow? Let the spoiling begin! XXX
-
bobo - oh I hope you can get some energy! Whatever way you can do it! I am laying on the bed with the dog and my friend Kim. She picked me up from the hospital yesterday and she is hanging out. DH should be home by lunch tomorrow.
-
SpecialK -- I didn't know what was going on with you and your implant trouble, so went to read your latest posts on other threads. I hope the latest surgery works out great for you to return to some kind of normalcy. (Hmmm, what is normalcy any more?) Missed you at the last get-together. God bless.
-
annalive - thanks! I appreciate the good wishes and keep your fingers crossed! Hope to see you at the next lunch!
-
bobogirl, hope things get better for you. Hope you can make it to the next get-together! SpecialK, so sorry to hear that things didn't go as planned with your revision! Crossing fingers that you heal quickly!!
Waving to AnnAlive...
-
DLL6 - waving back at ya. After seeing your Lymphediva sleeve I ordered a black paisley from their seconds, but it didn't work out size-wise so I returned it. Ordered a boring Juzo black and another beige from a therapist. ;-) Hope to see you soon too.
-
Hey All,
Added to to my favs - hope I will be in shape to make it up to Tampa for the next one!
-
Good to hear, Linda! Good thoughts to you of you fine Ladies.
-
SpecialK - Hope your recovery goes well! Sorry that you've had to deal with another surgery.
-
nb - thanks! I got a two-fer. Had a surgery on 3/7, and another this past Friday. Left implant removed, tears stitched, and new and smaller implant placed to stress the skin less. I am now in the midst of an allergic reaction to tegaderm - the EKG pads, the IV site, both bicep areas of my arms, and my neck to waist has a nasty blistered rash. Saw PS yesterday and got some Atarax, so mostly sleeping and trying not to be itchy.
-
OMG SpecialK ,
What happened? Another surgery and allergy to tegaderm? I looked it up, geesh, was it the adhesive on it that causes it? I've had that put on my arm to hold the IV in place when I had my MRI. I'm so sorry. You must feel miserable with such a rash. I hate to say it, but what was your PS thinking.
Hope it will clear up really soon and you can get some good rest !!! -
Yikes SpecialK- not fun at all !I hope that is taken care of quickly.
-
Hello ladies - doing better. Rash has subsided a bit, now a dull purple and peeling like a severe sunburn. Still itchy but not enough to take the Atarax, which made me feel ick. Yes, this is an adhesive allergy, and they did use tegaderm on my IV and EKG leads with sticky stuff in the surgery on 3/7, no problem. My PS knew he was taking a risk by using a large sheet of tegaderm over the entire breast but he was concerned about isolating the stitched areas. He could not have predicted what would eventually happen. What was interesting is that every place any type of adhesive was on my skin reacted, like a super response - even on the opposite arm (my LE arm - eeks!) not on the surgery side! So crazy. The good news (still) is that the stitches are holding, so yay for that!
-
Eeeeeek, makes me SO thankful mine only reacts to those places adhesive touches that get sweaty. Thoughts so much with you now SpecialK!!
-
I'm so sorry to hear about your allergic reaction and all that you've been through. You mentioned, tears in your implant? Is that right? I pray you'll hurry and get past this and have 100%healing.
Sorry I've been off awhile. Stuff. Anyway, I need some recommendations for a new oncologist. I have left Moffitt.
I hope everyone is doing well! Looking forward to the next get together.
-
firework - if your question is directed to me - the tears are not in the implant they are on my skin.
-
SpecialK, I hope you are doing better these last few days.
-
MC - I am hanging in - thanks! Hopefully the stitches come out tomorrow and the skin stays closed!
-
Thinking about you today SpecialK - hope you have a great outcome!
-
Thanks! I will keep you posted!
-
SpecialK, I thought you had abdicated your problem-child throne a long time ago. You are not allowed to reclaim the title. Crossing fingers for you!
-
dll - wish I had, lol! Stitches are out but I have a tiny unhealed area - he is giving it a week. If still unhealed I lose recon on the left for several months.
