I watched it last night - it IS getting good and I am able to follow better now.  Will check out crisis too.

I usually drink red wine, med onc told me no white.  But I once had that tequila sunrise and it is yummy and dangerous.

    Am smiling....good stuff here.
Too much red meat for me....I had a 1/2 hamburger (cooked well) tonight...every now and then I feel like I need red meat...but mostly I don't like meat at all.
Ducky, is that LAVA CAKE???  A choco-holic geologist's dream!!!  mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Sheila, it is so good to have you here all the time and happy and waiting for somethin' wonderful to happen...don't you ever disappear again...you bring heart and soul to this thread.
Sandy, I got that about Diane (rain)...hope she got it. Smile...
Glad you are feeling better all around, Sandy.  Now, if the weather would warm up, you'd feel like you are on vacation.
Re:  blacklist - loved first season...lost the details somewhere...decided to watch Castle instead.  But will try to go back and watch "on demand' to see if I can figure it out.
I also watched "Crisis" not realizing it was a continued series each week.  I do not like when kids are the subject of crime....but I did find it interesting.  May tune in again.
Am enjoying my break from night classes.

    Strange day today....
up at 6:15...1/2 hour drive to fasting bloodwork.  I got the gauze and tape on arm...about to roll down sleeve of special "white" long sleeve shirt - what was I thinking? Tape peeled off and blood was running all over my arm.  Turns out, lab bought cheap tape and tech said it happens all day.  She had to retape me and clean up.  Time consuming and makes patients unhappy to see their blood all over.Devil
Went to bagel deli (coffee, lunch salad, chicken salad - no bagel) - drank up, took a few bites.
Called cardiologist to see if I could go early and they said no - and asked me if I fasted.
Oops, didn't know about fast...Confessed a few ounces of coffee and a few bites of chicken...they took me anyway.  Needed xanax - 3 echos in an hour; lying flat without a break, and I am extremely fidgety.
Then to work....got in car at 3 to go to hair appt. and didn't have cell phone. I left it in my office. Would get it later...We just had stuff taken from my storage closet at work and probably thrown away.  I had blamed custodian; confronted him; he denied; end of conversation.  But I made a police report.  So I was nervous about going in to my office with no one around.  Found phone.  Drove 20 min. to gas station...uh oh...no wallet...back to office to get my wallet.  Saw scary custodian and he did NOT talk/look at me..I believe he has issues with me.  He did not kill me...did not get home until 9 PM on a no-work night. DH announced he is tired of cooking and cleaning.  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr .....tomorrow is another day  (says Scarlett O'Hara)

Thanks, Ducky...those St. Joseph cakes look delicious...
I have not eaten sweets in a long time...walked into my salon and there were candy dishes everywhere....caramels, chocolates, hard candies, pastries....I took one of everything.
Can I have lava cake too??  C'mon Sheila....

Yes, Joan, I got the reference :)  It would take too much energy for me to have multiple personalities.

Sheila - it's a shame you will miss the reunion!!  My two cents are that you should go - you realize that she will be in labor for several hours.  She doesn't want you in the labor and delivery room.  Then the latest is they have this relentlessly long "bonding time" which only includes mom and dad.  I would do anything to have the opportunity to be there.

This morning, I get the stitches out on my nose.  Then off to the med onc - we all seem to be on a close schedule.  I dread these appts.  I smell chemo in the medical suite.

My dear FIL called yesterday - he is nearly 90 and going downhill.  I feel one of us should fly to Maine to get him for his trip out here.  Convo on that later today with DH who just got back from Idaho late last night.

Lots of yummy food here lately, I see.

Sorry the derm took so big a sample to test, Ducky.  Hope they get back to you soon with the all clear!

Hope your appts go well, Diane.

Joan- your DH is tired of cooking and cleaning?  I can't tell you how much that makes me mad when men say that.  Uh, excuse me - if you lived alone, you would have to cook and clean for yourself...  I've been working through dinner time lately, so it has been up to DH to deal with dinner.  It is often quesadillas, store bought chicken pot pie (which is really good, but likely not good for you), pasta with meat sauce, and take-out.  I could make something before I leave - or get something ready to put in the oven so DS could start it - but that would require conversation - they would have to tell me what they want to eat - and they don't particularly like my cooking or my boring meals - so I'm content to leave it up to DH to figure out.  I just feel bad that DS isn't eating very healthily.  I would at least have some meals he doesn't particularly want that might not be that unhealthy.  When we have a lot of take-out, I warn my kids if they keep eating like that, they are going to have heart attacks by age 25...  They were taught in school about nutrition - so they know how they should eat from a source other than me...

Was supposed to hang out with DD today - my one day off this week (spring break for her) - but I will work 4-8 for a coworker whose boyfriend died the other day.  I don't know what happened - he had health issues (he was in his late 30's or early 40's I think) so I'm thinking it might have been from a health issue.  Still - that's too young to die.  So sad for my coworker.  Another coworker will work for me tomorrow so I can have a day off.  She's on break from school and wanted more hours.

Sheila, not the same w/o you but this will just be a little "interim" hello between REAL visits with Sheila too...oops, for KarolKracker, it is a REAL visit - she missed last year.
You have to do what you need to do.  And you will have more peace if you stay home, I think.  About all this baby talk....you are not driving me crazy....just making me more excited about this baby's arrival.  Big hugs and I won't talk about how much I'll miss you....

Chris, LOL I totally agree....for 30 years I took care of DH's kids without him ever having to remind me or ask me to do so.  He could go to work without a care...
Nice of you to work for this poor co-worker who lost her boyfriend.  I hope you and DD will get to spend some time.

Diane, so glad you got the stitches out.  How does it feel?  I hope you are mostly mended.
I hope your FIL will feel great and enjoy the travel and party you've planned.  Yes, somebody should probably fly with him....and back...it should be you so some of us here in the East can corner you for a visit.

Sandy, Ducky, can't wait to see you.

Sheila, we don't have a meeting place yet!!!  Will decide in the morning.
No GCS...nobody is taking the train.

Will send "selfie" pics of our groups.  WinkingHappy

Well am still on predisone so will be up most of the night again.....10 days of steroids...not helping the lungs at all....so frustrating.....

    bye

Well, he didn't take all the stitches out, just half of them.  He wants to leave the others till next week as it helps minimize scarring.

I get it, Sheila, really I do.  I am a nester who probably couldn't leave either.

Very happy for those of you who will get to meet, again or for the first time.  Can't wait for the pics.  Sandy - so glad you can do this!

Joan - I'm starting to think about how I can make one of the trips with FIL and let DH make the other.

As for the making things possible left to moms - well, I'm not whining exactly, but I can tell you that it doesn't stop and that has become more real for me in the last few years. There is not going to be an end. My DH does dishes, helps with driving, is very willing to do some errands but has no idea who her doctor is, or her job coach, or even what his role in her guardianship really means.  On the other hand, he is helpful, positive, and makes sure we can have what we need.  There are different kinds of weight we all carry on our shoulders.  I am not sure what is fair, and what is not fair but I think we essentially balance each other well - much better than 15 years ago, for example.  Besides our marriage, we have this shared lifelong responsibility.  Thank God DD is such a lovely young lady.
