Feeling Scared:)
Hi Ladies…I don't post much these days but I do lurk. I am about 5 years out and feeling good except for an issue I would love your advice on. I I was working out 6 weeks ago and my hip area sized up. I was in so much pain but it got all better.Literally, the next day I hurt my other side , the sciatica I believe. That area has gotten better but comes and goes. Now my other side hurts again. I feel like it's going back and forth. The symptoms are identical to scitica. It's about 3 in terms of pain. The pain gets better but doesn't go away unless I take advil. I have kept working out and running but I am really scared it's a met. Would that pain move around like that with a met? Would the pain be worse? I know you can get a met at the base of your spine and it cause sciatica like symptoms but not sure if it would clear up and pass to the other site. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated:)
Thank you!

Pure, I have a terrible back, and I get those symptoms regularly (ever since I was a teen). I have had them post-cancer as well, but so far I have no sign of mets.
For your own peace of mind, why don't you give your doc a call? Assuming it is not mets, you still need to get it checked out. I kept putting mine off, and that was a mistake, because I had a herniated disk among other fun stuff, and had I had it DXed when it happened it could probably have been reversed. So take care of yourself.

Hi Pure,
I've always had low back problems from my more active days of running, working out and jumping horses, and birthing & carrying babies on my hip. As a result, I dealt with a hernieated disk around L 4 & L5. The pain moved around and down my legs, hip and lower back and was very painfult to the point I had to go to pain management for injections. I no longer suffer as much as I used to but still get the lower back pain that causes hips and groin issues, and sometimes spurs my onc to do an occasional scan which always turns out to be bone sprurs, or osteoarthritis. Talk to your onc and he will probably send you for a scan just to be sure. I've been having differnent issues with my lower back and hip lately as well as constant rib pain and it makes me nervous about mets. I talked to my rads onc and he said to take advil or aleve every 4 hours for 5 days or so and the inflamation that most likely is from rads, will go away. So far not going away, but not calling my regular onc yet because I'm due for a bone scan in June. So ease your mind and talk with your onc. Peace and blessings to you.

Hey Jen, Mets pain does not come and go. I bets it's related to your workout regimen.

My doctor says the pain has to be consistent, persistent and worsening. She also says cancer does not go away with advil.

Thank you Ladies for responding:) I really appreciate it so so much! The pain has gone away now..It's been gone for about 4 days so I think it's ok:) Thank you for your support.
