Am very overweight from time if DMX so trying to determine if my body image issues are affecting the way in seeing my final breasts. Please let me know what additional info you need or how many more times I should post to be allowed access for help during this journey.

Cheryla, You must send a private mgs to the person who own this tread, I did that long time ago, it takes a long time to get access, i still dont have access. That is why i send my pictures to anybody who ask me cuz i didnt get access and want to share with others. I will take more pictures today. Make sure you send a PM to the lady in the first page of this tread. Then you just wait. Also you can PM the ladies who you think have the same surgery as you or have the same body type, Maybe they can send you pictures by private .
Take care

You can also send requests for access to me.

dear nowhere girl,
i a a three-time "survivor" (bs) -- with about 9 reconstructions under (over) my belt. i have had radiation, chemo, asshole doctors, and have most recently undergone the nightmare latissimus dorsi flap reconstruction (for no reason -- after reading the path report).
i suffer graves disease because the "greatest" cancer hospital in the world (mda) was too lazy to put a neck collar on me. that is just the beginning if you want pictures, and 17 years of info or want to know what to expect, i feel as though i am still on this earth for some reason. call me if you want, even. [Phone number removed by Mods] -- good luck to all. this is not a "pink" party -- it is a nightmare.
Edited to remove personal contact information. If you'd like to exchange contact info, please use the PM feature.

Hi shouston, you must request access by sending a private message to LIlah. For some reason I was also confused and try to request access long ago but manage to get the right private message to lilah a few days ago. Now waiting for final access. Hand in there go to click on lilah s name there you will see an option which says send a private message, there you will be able to ask her for access to the pictures forum. I am so sorry to read what has happen to you. I am out of my exchange surgery and i bit depressed now i read what happen to you and i understand that this is a nightmare road we are riding. Take care

Lilah,
I'm requesting access to the picture forum. I have my bilateral mastecomy scheduled for January 29, 2014. Is it possible to gain access prior to that? Thanks
Beverly

Ladies -- please read the instructions on the very first page of this thread. Absolutely NO one will be granted access if all they do is post here. You have to PM me or Nowheregirl.
-
Hi, I am pre-exchange and feel like I am huge and am curious to see pictures of expander exchanges, I am worried that what my surgeon has in mind will make me much larger than I am hoping for. I started 34 DD and now I feel similar in size at about 550cc, I was hoping for a C at most.
Thanks,
Jennifer

antijen, please read the first (undeleted) post in this thread to see how the reconstruction picture forum works. Go to this link to see it:

Just re-posting Nowheregirl's Picture Forum information, since it seems to be missed a lot....
INTERESTED IN ACCESS TO THE PICTURE FORUM?
YOU MUST FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS!!!
May 30, 2013 10:07pm nowheregirl wrote:
Hi there,
As some of you know, I am the founder/administrator of the Picture Forum where we share the information/advice/experience/pictures regarding our breast reconstruction surgery as well as the hair loss from chemo etc. It is a private online forum which I started several years ago when I was in the middle of treatment for my own BC and it is NOT part of BC.org in any way.
Obivously what we share on our forum is very personal and can be even intimate. In order to protect our privacy, our forum is password-protected and no one could even get the link without my approval. So anyone who wants to be part of us must ask me or Lilah who has been generously helping me as a forum moderator for access via PM (private message).
However it does NOT mean you will be automatically granted access just because you ask for it. Our members are entitled to know who is looking at them. They should not be seen by those who are not legit or not willing to show who they really are. Thus anyone who is very new here or has not posted much will least likely be approved. We do not have definite requirement like how many posts are needed before request because it depends what you have said in your posts. I screen every applicant and decide who should be allowed based on their posts.
Please do not call us exclusive. We do this solely because we are responsible for our member's privacy and we have to keep our forum alive for those who will follow our path. Our forum is not a photo gallery. If people were only interested in looking at the pictures and didn't post at all, our forum could die at any time. So even if your request is ignored, please do not take offense. It only means that you have been added to the waiting list. You will be given access eventually once we learn who you are from your posts.
Thank you for your understanding.
Nowheregirl (former Timtam) @ Picture Forum Administrator/Founder
p.s. Sorry for the above. I accidentally deleted my original post. Oops!!

I just wanted to say that I PMd Lilah a few days ago and got a response in just a few minutes. So it all depends on whether they happen to be around or not. I think I just happened to get lucky... rejected because I hadn't posted a lot at that time, but that's OK. I understand why and Lilah was very kind.
The fact that nowheregirl and Lilah had the foresight to establish a picture forum in the first place is a very selfless act and will be very beneficial to thousands of women who find themselves thrown into the breast cancer world. I'm also sure that it takes a significant amount of time to maintain the site, so just be patient. Once you've proven your support for others and that encouragement has been reviewed, you can be considered for access once you PM one of them. Many of us are willing to add our pictures and document our personal journey, but the fact that they are very cautious about granting access is a great thing. That caution protects everyone's privacy regarding a very, very personal subject. Thanks, Ladies!

All credit belongs to Nowheregirl for setting up and maintaining our site, AZ, but thank you! I am just here to help.
-
I've been around BCO for 5 months, but haven't asked for picture access until now.
-
Sandra, please read the very first post on this thread. You must pm lilah or nowheregirl to request access. The picture forum is not part of bco.
-
The first I read this was after my 1st mastectomy. I was new and wanted some insight HOW exchange might look.===I READ what was posted and didnt even try to gain access. Go GOOGLE reconstructive breast surgery after UX or BMX. You will find lots of pictures. Nowhere and Lilah have been very kind in being helpful and kind to everyone. There are so many threads on BCO to help you with your questions and you will meet many wonderful women.
I am 4(FOUR) years out from my surgeries and have never accessed the photo forum. PLEASE Private Message them and then be patient!!!!

kad2kar, thank you! And I'll put my plug in for Lilah and nowheregirl. I was one of nowheregirl's first 'customers' on the picture forum, years and years ago when she first started it up. What she, and now for years Lilah as well, put together is amazing, and so helpful to so many women. I'm really glad that the site is still going strong, and I'm in awe of nowheregirl for the effort that she's put into it over all these years.

I don't want access to the Picture Forum just yet but wanted to talk with others who have had a tram flap reconstruction. I am almost one year out and still having lots of discomfort. Someone somewhere said "it is like having a boa constrictor (sp?) wrapped around the top of my rip cage". I seemed to be doing ok for a little while now I am having a lot of pulling and tugging from the right side of my right breast down through my abdomen. I don' t have any bone pain or anything like that just a whole lot of discomfort. I was told by the PS office that I should wait a year (April 2014) and if I am still having discomfort to come back and see them. I am not sure if it is from the tram flap or if my cancer has spread. I have TNBC diagnosed in April 2014 and had DCIS back in 2005. It is just a nightmare trying to understand what all the things are going on inside me. I don't want to keep running to the doc's for every little thing - anyone else out there having a lot of discomfort from tram flap reconstruction?
-
I'm not sure if you'll get much response here since the thread title is picture forum. Have you searched the breast reconstruction forum for a thread on tram flaps? You might find more responses and contacts there. Good luck!
-
Thanks - it seems that thread is old and not much activity

Hi everyone, I'm new here and had my bilateral mastectomy with tissue expander placement done about 3 weeks ago. Had my first fill earlier this week. I'm sure I'm too new to have access to the picture boards, and I'm not entirely sure it would have what I'm looking for. Does anyone know of anywhere online that shows pictures with tissue expanders and then after with the implants done? I'm having a difficult time with my search and keep finding pictures of breast augmentations, which doesn't help me at all. I'd really like to know what type of differences I can expect in my look when I get these tissue expanders out. For now, they're very unnatural looking and I'm hoping the implants will look better. Thanks!
-
LaVieEnRose - The picture forum is exactly what you're looking for - photos of women throughout their TE (tissue expander) phases and then with their implants. However, as stated in the first post on this thread, it is a privately created and moderated site. Please continue to post questions and comments on the BCO threads that apply to you (type of cancer, other treatments, etc) for a while then try contacting nowheregirl or Lilah (one or the other, not both) to inquire about access. One good thread might be the Breast Implant Sizing 101 thread. There is a wealth of information about implants right in the thread header. Best wishes!

Thank you so much, TinaT!

Hi,
I had a BMX March 13, 2013 and, at the time, decided not to have tissue expanders put in. I have been going with BRAVA/fat grafting (two procedures now: August 7 and Jan 15, 2014) but I had radiation to the right side when I was first diagnosed (June 2006, stage 1). Since my first diagnosis, my mother was diagnosed and died within 3 years, putting my family rate of occurrence at 100%. That's why I waited 7 years between diagnosis and prophylactic surgery. I'm going to have one more fat grafting procedure to the right side and then, I'm considering small 250cc implants. Pictures of other women with small implants would help. Part of the reason I'm moving to implants is that I don't have a lot of fat to take and don't gain weight very easily. I tried for my Jan 15 surgery and despite eating extravagantly and slowing down/stopping the exercise, managed to gain only 3 pounds.
Thanks--
aquarius

aquarius_01 - Hi and welcome! You need to read the very first post in this thread. As stated therein, the picture forum is a privately created and moderated site. You will need to post questions and comments on the BCO threads that apply to your type of cancer, treatments, questions, etc. for a while and then send a private message to nowheregirl or Lilah (you can look them up using the Member List button on the left side of your screen). They are the only two people who can grant you access to the picture forum. So take a look around and join in on a thread that interests you. Wishing you all the best!

I had surgery to remove my other breast and tissue expanders were placed in both sides yesterday. When my plastic surgeon was marking me up, I mentioned that I wanted to have the shaped implants instead of the round ones. She explained that if I had mentioned this before, she would have ordered the new shaped tissue expanders which create a better pocket for them. She said that surgeons have been using the round ones but it is touchier with the fills. I want others to know about this option if they are considering them. I feel so much better now - like I am on the way to being whole once again.

GrammaKathy,
Please come over to Exchange City thread and post your info again. This thread is basically information about how to get access to the picture forum, which is separate from the BCO forum. Another place it would be good to post is on the Breast Implant Sizing 101. Those two threads have high volume of the very women you want your information to get to. See you there.
-
I'll try reposting! I have no idea how to get there - could you send me a link?
-
Grammakathy,
Go up to the top of this page to the Search button. Type in Exchange City - that's all you need to do and it will give you a list at the bottom. Click the one you want. Repeat with Breast Implant Sizing 101. Good luck.
