That's what friends are for..............one day we will meet......lol
-
I went and bought what we needed and wanted....#lovethatstore
-
me too...........Today I bought there Chicken Pastina soup........and their Sherphard's Pie......other things too, but those were from the Food Court..........so good.........never had any of their sandwiches, or the pizza, but when I finished Rad I took a Hoagie Tray to the Techs, and it was so nice, and they said they were excellent.........of course that was 2 years ago......or a little more........have had their Roast Beef order one xmas eve, and that was good too.
JJust a great store........

I dropped off my car for dent repair so I have to drive DH's work truck till Friday. It's a bit of a beater with absolutely no amenities, you know like a radio or working heat
I'll survive but I felt really crabby while driving it and nervous too since I'm not used to it.
Anyway, I am so glad my knee and foot seem much better. I think I got off easy, thank goodness - thanks all for checking with me.
Speaking of that, we have the update on Sandy (sorry you feel crappy). Joan? How are you doing with the sinus stuff?
I don't envy you and all that cold! And now they are going to drop off 600 people with possible Noro virus in NJ? Just in time for Super Bowl.
Finally nailed down who is doing what and where. DD is having some friends here - we will prep her food together on Saturday. We have a gathering Friday night and then for the Superbowl at friends houses. Friday night friend doesn't cook at all. They are having out of town guests who we have wanted to meet so I invited them all here but they can't get a sitter. So I am going to do all my prep work for paella on Friday, cook one batch Friday and the other on Sunday.
Your grocery store sounds wonderful! We have Whole Foods and Metropolitan Market that offers these things but DH never likes it so why pay the big bucks. He's spoiled.
Today, I looked up the lyrics for Drunk in Love, the song Beyonce did. I'm not conservative, but I don't understand why that is called music or what the message of the song was other than that she likes sex. When did I get too old?
Sheila - how was the shower? Was it wonderful having girls together?
Deb - you visited us - yay!!! There's a few more we need to hear from CHRIS???
-
thank u RAIN for bring this thread back from the dead
Love,love it..
-
you are welcome and Ducky I bought veg soup, a slice of pizza and buffalo wings (by the pound) which I will make tomorrow or so....Michael said the pizza was good, I still can't smell or taste so I have no idea.will eat the soup this week while I don't feel like cooking after chemo.
Diane, I know you can't wait to see them babies. glad you are feeling better.
-
Rain, glad your on the mend, and also your car............still laugh when I think about what you did................sorry.......lol, I'm just weird like that............still can picture that OH SHIT look on your face.........
-
It was all of us FireKracker - holidays just got in our way.
-
Good to hear from you Sandy...hugs
Diane the shower is this coming Saturday.......I'm so happy Christine is here it's a short visit but it's OK
She is great help...all the last minute stuff she'll do it for me tomorrow.....
FireKracker ( I'm gonna address you as FK so don't get confused lol)
tomorrow that actric air is coming back but you know what we got used to it..
Warm and cozy here
Good night All...
-
Sheila, you sound so happy!!! and I know you are. Enjoy every minute.
Diane, glad you are out and about...you will feel so great when your car is fixed. Why do our DH's love their grungy trucks?? I don't like to drive Dh's car. Sounds like a great super bowl plan.
OMG I never thought that all those sick people will soon be entering the population. Scary thought.
My sinuses were great all day at work and always clog when I try to sleep. Like now.
Ducky, Sandy, I wonder how many times you two have passed each other and didn't know it. Your grocery store makes me jealous....our local small town grocery store has not changed in 30 years....not kidding. We have a few new ones within 15-20 minutes. But Whole Foods is 45 minutes away.Lucky Ducky, how nice that your son and DIL were so considerate. But why not? You've earned it.
Getting sleepy!
-
Joan.......I often think the same thing about me and Sandy........I rarely go to Macy's, but when I would I would look at each salesperson, and think......I wonder if that's her........and would say to my daughter....hmm, maybe that is her, think I'll ask............she would grab me by the arm, and say "Mom, Mom, if you think I"m going to wait for you to ask every salesperson in this store if that is your friend Sandy your goofy...............find out what Dept she works in, when she is working, and I will bring your sorry ass back........they get the mouth from me......
By the time I could have picked Sandy out of the crowd, she had stopped work......one day we will meet......maybe this Spring.........we even go to the same "shore town"..
Yes we do have a lot of big grocery stores very close....Acme, Giant, Safeway, Pathmark, Superfresh, and we do have a Whole Foods too.........but then again, this is the Philly suburbs, and Philly is huge place......I mostly go to Shoprite, unless Acme has something on sale that I really want.
12 degrees this morning....wind chill -4.........Brrrrrrrrr........warm hugs.
-
For some reason, I thought I remembered that Sandy worked in home goods, towels/linens? Set us straight Sandy.
Watching the Today show, three hours behind you - I can't believe all this cold!
Joan, do you have classes today? They said schools were closed in NC, but didn't say anything about your or Sheila's area.
Sheila - addressing FireKracker as FK sounds a bit naughty - "Hey, FK, how are you....?"
Thought I'd share the following:
> > Jennifer's wedding day was fast approaching.
> > Nothing could dampen her excitement -
> >not even her parent's nasty divorce.
> >Her mother had found the PERFECT dress to wear,
> > and would be the best-dressed mother-of-the-bride ever!
> > A week later, Jennifer was horrified to learn that her father's new,
> > young wife had bought the exact same dress as her mother!
> > Jennifer asked her father's new young wife to exchange it, but she refused.
> > Absolutely not! I look like a million bucks in this dress, And I'm wearing it, she replied.
> >Jennifer told her mother who graciously said,
> > ''Never mind sweetheart. I'll get another dress. After all, it's your special day.''
> > A few days later, they went shopping, and did find
> > another gorgeous dress for her mother.
> >When they stopped for lunch, Jennifer asked her mother,
> >''Aren't you going to return the other dress? You really don't have another occasion where you could wear it."
> >Her mother just smiled and replied, ''Of course I do, dear.....I'm wearing it to the rehearsal dinner
> > the night BEFORE the wedding.'' -
Priceless......saw that before, I think it is so clever, and so "ME"...........I would do the exact same thing regardless of how overdressed I was at the dinner...........LMAO.........
Like I always say.........The sun doesn't always shine on one dogs ass................
-
I know how clever it is, but I would likely fail to think of such a clever response.
-
Rain......you could do it........honest, you could.............lol
-
Diane I worked at Macy's and miss it alot....
Ducky I think about that all time when I am out especially in your area...I go to Shop Rite also!!!
It is friggin cold here again, 11 what kind of shit is that...in today chemo tomorrow
-
Hi Sandy........yes, I am about sick of this weather........I got my heat bill yesterday....mentioned it on one of the threads, not sure which.......so I could be repeating myself.

-
write the check...don't go to Township Line it is way too cold and you won't make much...
-
LMAO..........yea especially if the guy that stops has leather seats........of course unless their heated.........lol..........
Make much..................I would probably have to pay them just for stopping...........lol
-
Is Township Line the red light district?
-
LMAO...........No Rain, it is around the corner from my house.........a major highway running right through Drexel Hill to Springfield, Pa.............OMG.....I am roaring over here.......
If I walk to the corner of my street in either direction, I am on Township Line......haha
-
Well then Miss Ducky, how did you intend to earn money at Township Line?
-

Paid my bill already...........and my candy had nuts...........right now I am in my recliner, throw on me, and freezing my ass off.........my Pilot hates cold weather..............he won't come to Philly........chicken.....
Well it is official......on Saturday we are getting an English Bulldog puppy.....my daughter is goofy, but she is getting one...........honestly she is adorable, female, and her name is going to be Stella.....can you imagine........Stella..........

-
Whoa! Ducky, who exacty is your Pilot? And don't tell me you mean a Honda. Stella? - what happened to Rover
Joan, are you feeling ok? Or just working hard?
Sheila - I hope your shower is wonderful. So glad you have Christine to help you. I found it very hard to do a shower for a baby girl with no pink or pastels. Frankly, it looked more like a fiesta.
FireCracker - only 10% ha?
Can I pay you in cannoli?
We are getting rain tomorrow, about 45 - probably sounds good to you
So last night I promised DH that I would make halibut cakes tonight. Getting fresh halibut means a bit of a drive which only matters because I am driving the old work truck for a few more days. So instead of driving to my usual fishmonger, decided I would stop at one of the better grocery stores for fish. No halibut and no viable options. The guy asks what had I been planning to do, make a chowder? I said no, halibut cakes. He smiles and says he has fresh, handmade halibut cakes. They look really pretty so I buy those instead thinking perhaps I've just really bought myself an hour with a book. I cooked them up and they stayed together better than mine, nice crusty, looking good.....I serve, he grins. He takes a bite and says "what the heck happened?". I take a bite and its just pureed fish and mashed potatoes. I fessed up. He admitted he is spoiled but there was no way he was eating this mush. Tomorrow, off I go to find some real halibut.
-
Rain......my Pilot is the one who flew my Southwest flight to Chicago and it was my first plane ride to my Grandson's wedding in Chicago last April........had never flown before, was petrified, and was between "bucking up and facing my fear".....or taking "Ativan".....after reading the SE's decided since it increased your sexual desires, and it had been 22 years for me, I did not want to endanger the Pilot, so I bucked it up, and flew "putting fingernail marks in my SIL's legs, and my DD arms".........
Became a member of the Mile High Club and............oops too much info...........so that is my story and I am sticking with it................LOL.........
Snowed again last night....only about 2 inches, but its still snow.........so tired of it..........suppose to hit 45 on Saturday........I just might put ;on my bikini, get my beach chair, and sit out on the front lawn............SHUT UP FIRE.........
Love your Halibut story.........see......when your good, your good...........
-
SH*T - I wrote a nice long response and it's not here. Anyway, I know I said I would have gone for Ativan - trying to score some for visit from DIL. Pot is legal here now but then I would just lay around eating.
Good news - my car is ready early. Once I find a ride to get it, I am so done driving the pickup.
Lots of rain but 45 here - still prefer that over snow and ice and cold....stay warm! I'll stay dry.
-
Diane.....get you learned to go to the fishmonger off the bat
Firecracker....missed you
and yep Ducky that is a good idea!!!
