    I love your photos too, Lisa.  I went to your zoo once back in the 80's and it was spectacular!  Wish I can go again maybe one day.  Thank you for the great pictures.

    Oh Lisa, I just love giraffes!  That baby is just so darn cut!!!!   Love it when you go to the zoo as we all get to go too!

    Nancy so good to hear that the shop is up and running.........that's got to make you feel good!  

    AJ I love it when you feel up to popping in, good to see you!

    Just hanging waiting for the tennis finals.....boring......not.   It is a foregone conclusion who will win but it should be interesting to see what Wawrinka can do up against Nadal.

    Well back to my snowflake blanket.......it's actually big enough to cover my legs but needs to be a bit wider yet.

    SoCalLisa - You photos are lovely & it's not just that you have good subject matter - the focus is perfect & you clearly have a great eye for composition. Thank you for sharing them with us. 

    Chrissy - I'm glad the Afghan is going well - I am a project starter, but rarely a project finisher. I'll get about 9/10 of the way done with something and then get bored with it - not a good trait to have. 

    I have been in bed a lot lately recovering from my exchange surgery & because I expected it to be a fairly fast recovery, I didn't plan ahead for things to do or even the basic 'comfort' stuff. I am soooooo happy that I got myself a laptop before this all started - it sure is a help when you can't move around much.

    Ooo Ziggy I sure do hope your recovery doesn't take too long..........I didn't have recon but I do know many who did and each recovery period has been different so I'm hoping yours goes well without any hicups.

      Oh yeah, laptops are great!  I'm spoilt I think as I have a laptop, iPad and a smart phone so am never far away from the boards..........lol.  Having something to do with my hand is all important to me as I've never been one to sit and do nothing but am happy to do so so long as I can keep the hands moving.

    With the not finishing projects, I do that sometimes but eventually I go back and finish them off but I do much prefer to give myself a timeline for completing thing and stick with it.  For this blanket I have completed 82 hexagons but I think I will be happy to complete it when I've done about 200.  This has taken two weeks so far so I'm guess another three to get it done.   When it's complete I'll post a pic.

    Well, back to it!  Zig there's heaps of books you can download as well as movies and series to help keep you occupied and to keep the boredom at bay while you are healing.

    Ziggy thanks, the funny thing about animal photos for me is that I can't ask them to sit in a certain place or anything or choose a background...you get what you get...

    hope you can start recovering well..when I was tied down for two years I took up digital photography and genealogy with my laptop and also learned to use the computer...when I was finally able to do some things I was so appreciative...hoping the best for you..

    love the giraffe baby, too. I agree with ziggy, the focus is so clear. It sure seems like they are posing just for you. So do lots of the animals have babies at this time at the zoo? 

    My DS was home for the weekend. I did a cheat day on my diet yesterday. Food tasted sooooo gooood!!!!! I am back to the routine now, tho. At one point my DS said, Mom, you will get thinner but you will never regain your youth. Good thing he left this evening. lol 

    Is everybody recovering from tennis watching? 

    My DD is in CO and they are all celebrating the winter olympians off to Russia.  Lots of fireworks and all. 

    It is good to have the shop open. I am trying to behave myself and not do too much.

    My aunt is helping keep me out of the shop. She is getting ready for her grandson's wedding. She is 99 now. So I have been driving her around to her errands. She is having a dress made and needs to go for a fitting tomorrow. That will be interesting. She got some new shoes, that might need to be dyed.  I bought her some pantyhose yesterday, she hadn't worn anything like that in years and years, but she called me today to say she got them on. I don't even wear pantyhose anymore. She is a hoot. She emailed me today to say she hadn't gone to church because her friend that drives her is 90 and she wasn't sure who could hold the other up because it was icey.   

    They are going to start cutting the roof off the little house tomorrow. It is going to be in the 20s, and the crane hydraulics don't work well under freezing. But this is the week they have picked to come here for this job. So hopefully it will go well. If I get some pics I will post them. 

    So I have plenty to keep me busy!

    Nancy your Aunt sounds like a real go getter!..........lol...........Love the fact that she is 99 and still capable of getting involved with a wedding.........absolutely priceless!!!!  Bless her.  I had a good giggle when reading about the pantyhose and had to go back and read it again.........well done her for getting into the jolly things!   Do post a pic of her in all her finery if she will allow.

    Yes, the tennis is all finished.......boohoo!........now what am I going to do?.......lol.......guess I'll just have to find something else of interest to watch while completing the snowflake blanket.

    Barbe, love that little giraffe, especially the tongue........lol.  They are such amazing creatures and those poor babies have one hell of a drop when they are born it's a wonder that they survive.   The color of those flamingos is incredible!!  The flamingos we have here have no where near that amount of color........I guess it all comes down to what they eat and obviously there is something missing from their diet here in Aus.

    I love the little giraffe's mouth and tongue in the photo. I agree Lisa you should be the zoo photographer.   Was the red ape a baboon? He is so beautiful. Lisa, your photos make me think more about what we are doing to the environment worldwide with our irresponsible over use of oil and the world resources.

    What great pictures, ladies!  Barbe, I love the little giraffe's tongue and the pose beside his mother's leg.  Flamingos are gorgeous too.  Lisa, I really like what you did to the gorilla.  This was not, my friend, just fooling around!  You really should be the zoo photographer!

    I can't believe this weather.  For part of the last 2 weeks we've been in extreme cold with lows in single digits, and today it got up to 63F.  Back into the low 20's tomorrow with snow forecast.  The weather people are very serious about that, too, saying it's a done deal.  We'll see, I suppose.  At least I have enough of the staples that one must have for snow.  Bread and milk, to be exact.  The stores won't have any tomorrow!

    I do love to see snow falling but don't like the aftermath.  DH has 4 wheel drive so I guess if we have to get out, we can.  The roads and bridges are already been brined in Charlotte, but not here.  And there are always those yahoos who like to get out on the roads in snow!

    We are back to the 105degrees.........ugh!  I'm sitting in the air conditioning working in my snowflake blanket.......am I nuts?!

    Welcome Joan!

    I took my aunt for her dress fitting today. It always amazes me when a work area is so clean. It is going to be a beautiful dress. I admire people who can make beautiful things. Then I got a surprise. My cousin emailed me and my DS is invited to the wedding now, too. So we are going to get all gussied up ourselves and get to FL over Valentine's Day weekend. Hot dog!

    ooooh, it is hard getting back to not eating. I got some recipes from my PA for my shake material. But I will tell you, muffins made out of it do not taste the way I would like them to taste. But now I have to fit into a snazzy dress, soon. 

    We are not allowed to forget about the Olympics, here. There are ads on TV every half hour. It's big news. I get sucked right in to all the stories. The snow boarder Shaun White looks so much older with his hair cut. We've been watching the figure skaters compete for the Nationals. Tho I have to admit I get some tired of all the competition after a week or so.

    HI ladies just dropping to say hello..........still cold here and waiting for some more snow.....oh will it ever end......

    The pictures are so nice.......I heard here it was so cold they took the Polar Bears out of the water, and inside because it was too cold for them......now that's not good....lol......even the poor Polar Bears can't handle the cold weather......

    Looking for Spring...........but don't trust Phil our Groundhog, he lies through his pointy little teeth.....

    Our snow arrived about 5:30 PM and it's still snowing, just doesn't look like more than about an inch or two--really tiny flakes.  I'd hoped it would come during the day when it could be better seen, but we'll take it whenever.  We usually get at least one "good" snow per winter and I do remember some really big ones, but this won't be one of them.  No school tomorrow so DD gets yet another day off in January.

    Hello ladies, I am new to this forum and 62 years old. Today I got my Oncotype score of 18,  which means no chemo. :)  I will be starting rads in two weeks and just started to take Letrozole as AI. Has anyone used  this drug? Just wondering how things went with you in the way of SE.  When I read some of the SE, I became a little worried.  

     Is there anyone out there like me who is starting rads and AI?  I would love to hear from you and compare notes.Has anyone had hair loss with BC radiation or hormone therapy?  I didnt think those were SE but have read some posts that mentioned hair loss. 

    I had a lumpectomy Dec. 17, 2013  and actually glad to get these treatments started so I can get them over with. 6 weeks of rads seems daunting but you all tell me its not so bad. And nobody knows more about women with BC better than other women with BC!!
