100 Days of Gratitude

Maddy, about 95% or more of Australias population live around the coastline. It is such a big beautiful country, but the interior is harsh. Desert & semi-arid areas are probably around 60% of our land mass (45% is sand dunes). Having said all that, I love the Australian outback, it has its own beauty.
Day # 13 I am grateful we have 4 large water tanks so I can put the sprinkler on during the day for the birds during this heat.

today I am grateful that my friends son and his family are safe after losing their home in a bushfire.
-
oh no...hb....such hard news, but thank goodness they are safe! We had friends lose homes and businesses in our area this past spring because of floods.
-
thanks Tanya. There's so much I don't know about the rest of the world. Come to think of it, I now remember Oprah doing traveling in Australia, and I remember a little bit about the desert.
Wahine, congrats to your parents! Hoping they have a great time.
Cheryl, was it here in the states or Australia?
-
I am grateful my DH made it home safe today driving from Cody to Cheyenne in Wyoming with 60mph wind gusts. I am also grateful for making homemade cherry almond oatmeal in the crockpot for this week.
-
Maddy it was in Perth Australia, and wyo i used to live in Rock Springs oh do I remember those winds!!
-
Cheryl I'm so sorry to hear that your friend has lost her home but very glad she and her sons are okay.
We get a lot of the hot north winds that come straight in off the desert.........I guess you could call them devil winds as they sure feel like they come from the very gates of hell!
I am grateful for meeting a woman yesterday that shares my artistic passion........we had such a wonderful conversation!
-
Today I am grateful for crescent5, my BBF* and anchor in those early days of terror. Welcome to year 3 my friend!

wahine - congrats to your Dad. And how wonderful that both parents are so independent still.
Grateful for ......... being able to relax with coffee and bco in the mornings and not having to rush out the door to work.

Day # 13
Today I am grateful for my oldest daughter, Tracy, who is turning 44 today. Where did the time go? She is a strong woman with a good sense of humour, who has done an excellent job raising 4 of my grandchildren!
Hb sorry about your friend's home.
-
Today I am grateful to be watching a beautiful sunrise, with a lovely cup of coffee in my hands. It will be a good day.
-
Grateful that I'll be going to lunch with a woman who is 13 years out after 2 occurrences of metastatic colon cancer to her liver. After this progression, it's been hard to find hopeful people to talk to. As the saying goes, I'm not dead yet.
-
Its so nice reading all the gratitude here! Happy birthday to your DD, Red! That oatmeal sounds yummy wyo. Would you be able to pm the recipe to me? It does sound healthy. I am grateful to finally be starting a new eating plan (aka "diet") today, and hope to be able to keep on track!
-
grateful for a 50 degree day and sun in Massachusetts!
-
Gritgirl - So sorry for the progression.

God is so good! I went down to take my laundry out of the dryer and I found a tube of chapstick...cherry of course which stained my favorite hoodie my Mom got me to go to chemo in...it was so cool. Not 5 minutes later my BF is telling me I got a package....it was the hoodie I ordered to celebrate my final chemo and it is too cool for school! Love it! Took away my sadness. Anyone no how to get that chapstick stain (cherry red) out? God bless you all.
-
"shout out" gel....I think that's what it's called. Or maybe one of those Tide stain out tubes????? Sounds like "hoodie karma" to me, the message being...chemo's done....move on girl!
-
lovewins, congrats on your final chemo...woohoo!!!
I'm grateful the sun is out drying up the yard so our furbaby will have dry, clean paws when she comes in.
-
lovewins Chapstick is mostly wax and to remove wax you can try putting it in the freezer, then pick off as much as you can-then put a towel or rag you don't care about and try ironing it out. Hopefully the remaining wax/Chapstick will melt onto the rag. No guarantees but try a small area. Sorry o hear about hoodie.
Today I'm grateful that I have a frozen dinner to stick in the oven and I don't have to cook!
-
