I am grateful that today I was not so tired and feel positive. Walked 2 miles, I did all my errands, got my hair done and splurged on a shrimp quesadilla (only half).

Honeybair, I think you are married to my DH's twin.  Mine does a light breakfast everyday except Sundays when I do bacon & eggs.   He also does dishwasher duty, but I cook so thats fair.  I make about a years worth of fruitcake at at time, they just get better with age, and a little feeding of rum <grin>.

Day #12 I am grateful for my hearing so I can enjoy the sounds of the birds, music and of course the voices of my loved ones.

I'm grateful that I have enough money to run an air-conditioner as the temps this week are going to be unbearable!  Forecast is for low to mid 40's Celcius all week!  YUK!!!!

I am grateful to have found this forum and all of you.  You start to think you're the only one (or that you're going crazy) and then all of a sudden you realize it's not just me!  Thank God.

I am grateful that I got to go out to coffee with a good friend this morning, and that my internet, which was down all day, is back up!

Chrissy, you too.  Today was hot enough, and it didnt quite make 40.  Really not looking forward to a few 40+ days.

Thanks Maddy.  The heat never used to bother me at all, but combine it with hot flushes and I feel like a damp limp rag <sighs>.  Luckily we live in the mountains, so really hot days usually only last a week or so.

Chrissy, it is gorgeous, we are surrounded by a state forest, scary in bushfire season, but worth it.

I'm grateful to love and be loved.

Oh and I am grateful no one was around this morning when I went to let DS and DDIL's dog out and realized just now that I had my sweatpants on inside out.

Hi everyone, is it ok if I join at this late date? Just read the past 3 pgs or so, and you are all so inspiring! And Ducky, your g'daughter is SO beautiful, and I loved seeing her and hearing her singing Eye of The Tiger. What a cutie!!!

I am grateful that my parents can still travel alone at their ages (97 and 93). We took them to the airport very early this morning so they could spend another few weeks in Hawaii, where my dad will be honored in the State Legislature, since he served back when we became a state in 1959. I think he will be the oldest honoree there!

farmerlucydaisy, love that, sweatpants on inside out. Thanks for sharing a laugh. I can relate, once wore 2 different shoes to work, one navy & one black. Half a day passed before I noticed. It was when the kids were little and mornings here were crazy.

I am grateful for the laughs we have, and for a beautiful sunny day here in Georgia.

Rakovina, I pour Jack Daniels on our fruitcakes and even soak the fruits and nuts prior to baking. Wow, baking enough fruitcake for a year.  That is admirable!

I am grateful today that DH and I attended our little church on the corner and enjoyed a wonderful sermon.  It touched our hearts profoundly.

I am grateful for a nice sunny day & that DS (young adult) has found a really nice group of guys & gals to hang out with. He & his long time girlfriend broke up this fall, so I was sad for him....but he is having lots of fun now. When I talked to him, he said tonight he is going to one of those Murder Mystery dinners, where everyone is assigned a part and one of the guests is revealed to be the 'murderer' during the course of the evening, fun!!!!

Welcome Wahine! Good to see you here!

Day #12: grateful I crawled back under the covers just a little after I woke up at 7:30 - which is already sleeping in late (getting laundry together to start before breakfast). Next thing I knew it was 1:30 PM! DH didn't have the heart to wake me and let me sleep. Guess I needed it.

    Barsco, cute new photo!

Chrissy and Tanya, I saw Saving Mr. Banks (about PL Travers, author of Mary Poppins) last Sunday. I didn't realize Australia had deserts, looked so much like here in So Cal (where they shot it, I'm sure). We're on the edge of the desert, we get those high heats too so my heart goes out to both of you! Stay cool and hydrated! Do you get the hot devil winds too? We're supposed to be getting those this week, too and it's supposed to be winter. Does anyone doubt global warming? We're going to have to be rationing water if we don't get some rain.

wahine....your parents sound awesome....such an honour for your Dad.

I'm grateful that I got out in the fresh air for a long walk today, and even though we went too far, we made it home safe and sound.

Thank you, ladies! Yeah, he is excited to be honored. It amazed us last night as he was talking about events from 55 years ago, and recalled names, dates, events, etc. Thank you for starting this thread, Red! (hey, that rhymed!)
