Websister, had to laugh re: your "say hi to Marilyn" comment! Hope your Christmas prep is coming along and that you are looking forward to spending some time with your grandchildren.
Edi, I just love your descriptions of life with your DH! Some of the stories remind me of my DH, and I can understand your frustration. Hope that things will improve for the Shedman so that he can enjoy Christmas.
Well, having one of those high anxiety days - guess it's a combo of fear of recurrence and having the holidays upon us. I'm officially off work now, even though I'm still catching up on a few work things at home. In any case, we'll be on a plane to Halifax in the AM. Looking forward to some quality time with my brother and family and my Mum.
Hope everybody has a wonderful weekend!
-
good grief edi....I'm exhausted just reading about your "activities". Hope daughter doesn't spend the holidays sick.....no fun!!!!
caitlin...pack your bad weather gear....you've seen the weather forecasts for the East?? yuckoo!!
-
Hi everybody,
We are so very busy, but just want to let you know that we are fine, and having a grand old time. Internet access is a problem, so I can't check in regularly. We will be home next Sunday. A merry Christmas to you all! Tomorrow we are driving down the south coast again to spend Xmas with DH's family.
Love to you all!
-
Liefie, so nice to hear from you, and glad you are enjoying yourself....Have a very Merry South African Christmas!
Edi, Nihahi is right.....I am exhausted, too! Yikes!
You ladies in the East ( N. America) stay warm and safe ...... big ugly storm heading your way (as if you didn't know already)
Everyone, I hope this last weekend before Christmas is a CALM one for you all......I think I shall stay inside and drink hot chocolate with a candy cane in it.......
-
Happy Winter Solstice everyone.....It's dark here now...the shortest day of the year. Hoping everyone starts to have "brighter" days from here on out.
Liefie and Traii...I guess it's the summer solstice for you....??
Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas.
-
it is summer here Nihahi. No sunshine today but muggy!! Had the best time in the pool the other night.!!
liefie great to hear from you.

Hope all you ladies are keeping warm.

hi all
Tax #6 day 4....can't wait for these pains to end, I hope there gone for Xmas day...and taste buds are back but that might be too much too ask...I've got both my sons coming for Xmas day but luckily not doing the cooking,
I think I've managed to get everything in and done, but no doubt I've forgot something....oh well I'm not going to worry about it now chemo brain just won't let me think any more
Feelin a bit down knowing I'm probably going to be still feelin yucky for the big day but hope everyone else is feelin well and lookin forward to Xmas
Take care
Jackpot
-
hang in there jackpot....I'm sure no one in your family cares if you have "forgotten" something. Just put a big red bow on your head and a smile on your face. You're the biggest present you can give your family.
Caitlin...golly, hope you're safe and sound in Nova Scotia...sounds like the ice storm is headed your way. Horrible in Toronto and parts of Quebec tonight!
Thinking of you all....hope everyone is doing well.
-
Hello all,
Thank you all for your well wishes on finishing Rads. My skin is getting better still dry and itchy but better. I seem to be really tired is that normal?
Liefie, so glad your having a great time sounds like lots of fun.
Jackpot, I hope you are feeling better for Christmas day.
Traii, My stepmother is leaving the 29th to visit your neck of the woods. I'm so jealous want to go there so bad.
I hope everyone of you have a very Merry Christmas filled with love and family
-

Girls im getting in early as its Xmas eve here and lots to do, people to visit and presents to unwrap!!!
From me in Australia to you girls and your families. Enjoy your Christmas and here is to a new year full of good health to us all.
Love you all.

-
traii....WONDERFUL photos...thanks for sharing them! Have a great Christmas with family and friends!
maria....so good to hear from you! Tired goes hand in hand with rads and the realization that the "active" fight is now over. Takes time for the emotions and the body to both reach a place of healing and confidence in the future. You'll get there, respect what you've been through, and realize "this too shall pass". Take good care of yourself nutritionally, emotionally and spiritually. For others, things are done and back to normal....for you....not quite yet.
Merry Christmas to everyone....hope it is one full of peace, happiness and hope. 2014 is going to be SPECTACULAR FOR US ALL!!!!!!
-
Wishing you all, and all your lovely families, a wonderful Christmas and a happy and healthy new year! xxx

Hi gorgeous sisters

Absolutely knackered !!
Yesterday Xmas dinner at ED's FANTASTIC !! I held her nephew who is 8 weeks old and he fell asleep, he stayed in my arms for an hour and I didnt want to give him back
Bless him, he has been in hospital for almost a week with a chest infection. On the mend now though
Today " at home" at my baby brothers place" Tons of food and fantastic company.Twins aged 18 months in Santa suits crawling around being gorgeous.
Edi hasnt turned on the stove for two days YAY
.
Tomorrow back to normality
Chilling out and being a couch potato ( just for a change ) ha ha.
New year next phew
Had a lovely chat to my nephews American wife today, they are moving nearer here and she has promised us a proper Thanks giving dinner next year we are all soooo excited.
We had a long discussion on the language difference and it was so funny
she said when she first came to England she spent ages on the internet telling her Mom and Dad how" funny" we are
.Told her how we need an interpreter on here sometimes.
GD had us all in hysterics as she LOVES a set of horrid yellow teeth she got in a joke set, and insists on having photos taken with everyone whilst wearing them ED horrified, ha ha.
Hope all of you have had a ball. X -
The warm weather enjoyed this week is coming to an end as Environment Canada has issued a flash freeze warning for Calgary.
A rapidly moving cold front is forecasted across Southern Alberta this evening and overnight. Frigid temperatures reaching a low of -18C with a wind chill of -30, strong winds gusting to 70 km/h and five centimetres of snow are expected.
Environment Canada warns that visibility will be, at times, near zero, especially in open areas and on major highways. The winds are expected to ease after midnight but the cold temperatures will remain throughout the weekend.
.............................
Sounds like fun, eh!!!!! Isn't "FLASH FREEZING" something they do to veggies....NOT people!!!!! I am making soup and digging out the mittens and touque again!!!
-
stay warm my calgary friends xxi wont rub it in but its stinking hot today, off to the pool!!
-
Well about 6 hours ago it was +8 degrees C, but now about -16!
DH just got home safely from work. He said cars were crawling along the highway, with their 4-way lights flashing, and visibility was almost nil with blowing snow. Wind is up to 70 kph, gusting up to 90kph. So glad I'm not working tomorrow!
-
Sounds horrendous ! Please stay safe and warm.
Traii, lucky you, have fun x
Here cold but sunny, bad storms with flooding again in coastal regions.
-
Hi all,
Back in Vancouver tonight after two long flights. Edi, spent Saturday with my cousin in London, and thought about you not that far away.
Sleep well everybody!
-
Hi Liefie, wonderful to have you back safe and sound.
How was London ? X
-
Oh Liefie....SO glad to have you back safe and sound! (((hugs)))
Happy Sunday all! XO
-
Thanks for the warm welcome Nihahi, Edi and Movie! Came home to a cold house on Van island just a while ago, tired but happy to be here. Traveled far and wide, long distances by car through South Africa and Namibia. Canadian friends blown away by the beauty and totally different culture down there. Visited with many friends and all our family, the wedding was a blast - DH and I danced the night away, and got home at four in the morning. Groom and bride enjoyed the wedding more than anybody else, so much so that he forgot to take some clothes for the next day. Arrived at his new in-laws the morning after still in his wedding suit - LOL.
Edi, did not go into London. Cousin picked us up from Heathrow, took us home, and we visited with his family till it was time to go back to the airport. Have not seen him in 15 years - so good to see them.
-
Glad to hear you had such a wonderful trip liefie. Welcome home! xx
-
Welcome home, Liefie - you have been missed. Good to hear the wedding was such a success, hope it doesn't take too long for you to adjust time zones and temperature. Looking forward to hearing more from you!
