-
Hey Ladies,
I haven't checked in lately because I have been very busy visiting with my granddaughter and getting our house ready to sell. We had rented it out, and I will NEVER do that again! What a mess! We got it cleaned up, having it painted, outside has been pressure washed and landscaped and the carpet installer comes on Monday. Whew! On a positive note, all the exercise I've gotten with cleaning helps to burn off the junk food I've eaten. I am anxious to return to our home in the mountains and get my life back on track and leave the house here in eastern NC to the realtor. I also can't wait to get back to walking again without the fracture boot.
I hope all of you lovely ladies have a very merry and blessed Christmas!
-
Merry & blessed Christmas my friends....enjoy a wonderful time with family and friends ((( hugs)))
-
Dear Rocket, so happy to hear that you were with Erin, and that your home is ready yo sell now!! What a load off your mind!!! Also, glad to hear that you can do some walking with your fracture boot!!! Enjoy, the last few days of Christmas preparation!! Hugs!!!!
-
We are finally on our way home tonight after being at my sister's house for the past 15 days while preparing our former home for sale. I can't tell you how glad I am to be going home. My sister is very gracious and we enjoyed her and her husband's company very much, but we are really tired and ready to get back to our usual healthy diet, exercise and our own bed! 2 1/2 more hours!
I hope you all are doing well and enjoyed Christmas.
-
There is nothing like your own bed!! Safe travels!!!!
-
YAY, home safe and sound. I can feel a good night's sleep coming on!
-
Rocket, so glad to read you are home safely.
I have been getting more exercise over the past few days....getting ready for a healthy 2014! Part of my new start for the new year.
-
Yay, Rocket!!! Go Tammy, with the exercise!!! Good for you!! Hi, Tenaj!!!!! We will all make 2014 the best year yet!!! I need your help, ladies!! Does any one know the foods to stay away from to get rid of belly fat!! I am too lazy to watch the video that you see on Facebook!! Sorry, I am bothering you with this, but I tried watching the video, and I lost my patience!! I know one of them is Orange juice!!! Too much sugar!! Hugs and Love, Kathy
-
Kathy, sorry I haven't seen it....
-
I haven't seen it either, but I would think wheat foods and those with sugar. I am trying to eat mostly vegetables, some fruits and proteins. I am cutting out processed foods and as soon as I get out of this fracture boot, I am going to get back to serious cardio workouts.
-
Thanks, Tammy and Rocket!! I did read that sugar and wheat are belly bloaters!! Since Christmas I have totally cut out sugar, and I feel so much better!!! Rocket, I hope you continue to heal!!! Hi, Tenaj!!!! I did 10 minutes on the elyptical and 10 minutes on the stationary bike this morning and plan on walking later!! Rocket, could you do the elyptical with your fracture boot?
-
Happy New Year Dear Ladies! Wishes for good health, joy & weight loss for 2014!!
Good job Kathy, you are so inspiring. I have been in such joy since spending so much time with my kids. My DD came home the 22nd & DS on the 27th. I miss them so much, the house feels normal...they will still be here for several more days, depending on the storm that we are suppose to get. I have not been good at all with eating. Lots of cooking & eating! I haven't been on the scale, I'm afraid to do so. But I have not given up....I will get back on track when the house quiets down.
Enjoy & Blessing to you all!
(((Hugs))) Janet
-
Janet, I too have been contemplating getting on the scales.....maybe tomorrow
-
Hi, Tenaj!!! How wonderful that both your kids are home, enjoy, enjoy!!! No worries about diet until after the holidays!! Just have fun!! Tammy, I hate the scale, he,he,he!!!! Happy New Year!!!!!
-
Hey Gals,
I hope you are all well. I finally got on the scale and have gained about three pounds, but with being in a fracture boot and the holidays I should have expected it. Tonight I ordered an exercise bike that I can ride with a fracture boot. I will also use it during the winter to get a cardio workout. Don't stress about the scale. It's just a number and numbers can be changed. We have the ability to do this. My DH is a math professor and he always reminds me that it's a simple equation. Burn more calories than you take in and you will lose weight. Choosing the right foods to fuel a healthy body is also important and you can eat a lot more healthy food for the same calories as junk food. They may not taste as wonderful though!
Have a great night's sleep everyone!
-
Rocket, good advice and timely too as I had a bit of a surprise when I got on the scales on Thursday morning
However, it gas spurred me on and I've been to the gym and I've been eating better. Enjoy your new bike!
-
Hi, Rocket, hope your foot is getting better each day!! Enjoy your new bike! I really like riding the stationary bike!! I like your husband's equation!!! Tammy, it is great that we spur each other on!! The gym and eating better, you go girl!!!!
-
Kathy, lovely to hear from you....how are you?
I did a Zumba class today and really enjoyed it....I'm just hoping my hip also enjoyed it....I'll probably find out tomorrow!
-
Hi, Tammy!!! I am great, thank you for asking!!!! Have fun with Zumba!!!
-
hi ladies! How'd your hip do with the Zumba, Tammy? Good job with the exercise. I have to remember to pace myself with getting back into exercising.... Don't want to hurt any body parts that will make me stop exercising....slow & steady.....( now I just have to listen to myself, should have learned that lessen a while ago...lol)
I hope your foot is feeling better Rocket....I like the idea of getting a stationary bike. I missing riding now that the cold weather is hear. Did you buy one yet?
Hi Kathy, how's everything? Any new tips for me??? I am focused again as I have another wedding in 4 months!!
I did get on the scale & am up about 4 lbs... :-(. I'm back on track now, let's help each other stay focused!
-
Hi, Tenaj!!! That's right, your son is getting married!! Is that right, how exciting!!!! Definitely, let's all help each other stay on track here!!! I am still doing the WW, just can not get to the meetings!!! I want to lose more, but it is hard!!! I have got to stay focused and stay away from sugar and bad carbs!!! I am glad I checked in tonight!!! I feel motivated already!! Thanks!!! Hugs, Kathy
-
I did order a stationary bike, but it hasn't arrived yet. It is a recumbent bike as I have tried the ones with a regular bike seat and they are too uncomfortable for my back. My new bike should be here next week. I am committing to at least a half hour per day, 5 days per week. My foot is healing, but still hurts. I have a few more weeks to go before it should be healed.
I finally got the results of my bone density scan and I am so happy to report that my osteopenia hasn't become worse! Whew, no treatment needed yet except weight bearing exercise and calcium supplements! That was a huge relief for me as I struggle with medications. My onc wants me to stay in Arimidex for 10 years if possible. We will continue to monitor my bone density yearly. I have been on the drug for 4 years now. Six more to go! I will be glad to be off this medication because I have suffered with muscle and joint pain since being on it. I also believe it is a lifesaver, and I'm thankful for it. I'll take muscle and joint pain over cancer any day!
It is bitterly cold here in western NC. The temp where we live got up to 3 degrees. I grew up in Maine, so I shouldn't be complaining. I'll just be glad when I can go for walks with my DH and dogs again. Even the pups don't like going out in this weather. They curl up on their comfy dog beds and sleep in the sunshine. They are so spoiled! Ahhh a dog's life!
Hope you all are having a great day!
-
Janet, the hip was fine :-). I then did a spin class on Monday, so I'm off to a good start.
I'm now taking a rest from classes for a couple of days as I also need to pace myself so I can keep up the exercise for the long term! Like you I'm dreading another set back so slow and steady is the way to go.....You'll soon be back on track and looking beautiful for the wedding!
Rocket, good news on your results...hope you enjoy the bike when it arrives. I have found that since getting back into exercise I feel so much better!
-
hi, Tammy, so glad your hip is good!! I bet the spin class is fun good for you to get some rest in between!! Rocket, hope your bike comes soon, and that your foot continues to heal!! Great news with your bone density scan! I see my onc tomorrow, I think I am due for one!! I have 2 more years with aromasin!! My onc wanted me on it for 10 yeas as well!! It has kept the cancer away!!! Hope the weather warms up for you all soon!!! Hugs!!!!
