Woohoo! Got my tattoo today!  Didn't feel a thing!  I keep I bacitracin & gauze on it for 3-5 days & can shower.  It should fade to the proper color in a couple of weeks.  Also, thanks to Goldie's advice, I'm getting laser treatment at my PS's office on the scar on top of the DIEP flap next Monday to lighten the redness because the scar included radiated skin.

Girls, I finally reached the light at the end of the BC tunnel & you all are not very far behind me!

I have also enjoyed all the laughs we are sharing at nihani's wake!

Lahela-you will get through this. Will be thinking of you on Monday and will pray you'll have a healthy noob for Xmas.

I had my emergency surgery 2 weeks ago to remove infected tissue in ab. Still in pain but getting better, albeit very slow.  Part of pain may now be an umbilical hernia (grrrrr).  Hoping this nonsense ends soon.

My hubs and I got creative last night and taped a mini-pad to the radiation scar incision on my back.  Sure enough, when I woke up this morning it was soaked with serous, bloody fluid, a little like you'd find in a JP drain a few days after surgery.  Mysteriously, it doesn't leak when I'm upright during the day.

So today was supposed to be the last dive, but I brought my leaky wound to my doctor's attention and he determined we needed at least one more dive, since the area of concern was in the radiation-damaged edges of the incision.

Lahela, you've got this!  This time you can rest in Wilbur's arms while they clean out the bug bunker thoroughly.

Sharon, congratulations.  This big old speed bump is behind you!  Whoo-hoo!

Tammy, the little fighter's left glove actually looks a bit like my left noob.  Really.

Sharon....that "final dash" is absolutely wonderful news. Today is truly the first day of the rest of your life.....thank you for sharing it with us. I'll be interested in hearing how the laser sessions go. Out of curiousity, I asked the dermatologist I saw a couple days ago about lasering. He said it could be done, but didn't really jump at it. His nurse, said it would be between 4 to 6 sessions, at $400 per session...whoa...not on my budget....!!!!

lahela and zoemom....sending hugs and prayers....

bailey.....Might be "closing time" by now for you??? Hoping things went spectacularly, and the weather lets you get home to your own pj's and bed.

sbe....that is bizarre....re: nighttime leaking! Does it leak while you are in the hamster tube???? Could the pressure in the tube "hold it in, somehow", then it releases at night when you're at atmosphere???? Is there any possibility to keep diving until it closes up???

Hi Lucy-DrLevine examined me yesterday. My pain is behind my belly button (he said possible umbilical hernia).  Aapparently hernias are common with abdominal surgeries. I also still have a bruise/red spot near the 2nd surgery incision that is painful. He says it isn't infected.  I'm insisting on another CT scan.  I swear, the pain from the 2nd surgery is worst than from the first.

Yeah, Sharon.  I was just there today too, and I thought maybe you could still be there, but he and I were discussing some serious stuff.

I am so glad you are DONE!!!!! Did she say what kind of laser she was using?  If you don't know now, can you ask her what kind she is using when you go on Monday.  I am curious, because I have a few broken blood vessels left after the bruising from my bmx. That is how I know they have laser at the center, because he mentioned to me he would have these vessels zapped away when I was all done.

Goldie, I don't know what he is using, but my PS is going to zap some little vessels for me, too.

Sharon - Yipee! Here's to a light at the end of the tunnel. I'm so happy for you - congratulations!

I plan on catching up next year. Meanwhile, I'm stuck with my giant crop circles for a little longer. My lovely PS said that my scars are still 'aggressive' and need some more time to calm down. It's already been six months so I don't know how much calmer her wants them, but we both agree that my belly scar is a big mother of a scar, and the same with my circles. Also, my blazing hot red belly button may need a little something to help it simmer down bit too. But  he says we can contour my spongebob waist whenever I like .

He's cute. While I was changing into a gown he knocked on the door and asked if I was decent. I started laughing and asked if it really mattered? He's seen and touched everything. He then said 'You're barefoot!' as though he was concerned (It's freezing in Canada) . I realized that I probably don't need to take off my pants and socks anymore - those days are over. Subconsciously, I suppose I wanted to show off my toenails. I think I was blushing.

Ridley - I'm so happy that your dad got good news. And I'm thrilled that you're down a couple of drains, and that you had good homecare. But the rest? Oh my God - that's a full plate for you and your family. I hope your cousin is doing okay, and also your Aunt. You  have a great mom. Save your energy for healing, and not feeling guilty. The best thing you can do for her is to get good and strong.

Congrats Sharon!! Your picture is awesome. I love the visual of crossing that  finishing line. I'm going to focus on that.

Saw PS today. Faux belly button still red and oozing but he said it was okay. The infected scabby road rash on the right foob is healing albeit slowly. He scraped off some of the yellow mushy scabby parts (for lack of a better word ) and their is pink skin underneath. I am set for chemo education tomorrow, port placement on the 27th, and chemo start on the 30th.

We picked a radiation oncologist today. Really liked him.

Slept last night kind of on my left side buoyed by pillows. But in the middle of the night I tried to roll to my right side and that didn't work at all. May try again tonight as I know my hubby likes my bed next to him :0)...

I know we have had a sex posting already, but when after surgery can you try? I'm assuming 6 weeks like it was after my C-sections??

So I have a funny medical type joke... But I don't want to offend anyone...

    It's about Viagra.

RHG, you know you have to tell the joke now.   Can't leave us hanging.

Glad you found an MO you like, and that your road rash is looking better.  Are you allowed to put anything on it.  There is this honey, I believe it's called Manuka?  Ask Nihani, SBE or Bailey.  I believe they have all used it, and had great success with it.  It has awesome healing properties.

Hi everyone.....Big day for me, too.....saw PS for the big unveiling of the new nips/areolas......2 1/2 weeks ago I had skate flaps/skin graft areolas "installed"........I was so nervous for this that I took an Ativan and made DH drive me.....I have gotten pretty attached to the new girls, and was terrified that this last little hurdle would "de-face" them.....

As the nurse took out the sutures holding the surgical sponge around the nipples , and removed the nipple protectors, I was afraid to look down......finally worked up the courage to sneak a peak, and burst into tears.......they are perfect!  Beautiful, perky nipples (a bit on the large side, as PS says they shrink)and lovely areolas.....still a bit scabby, but pink skin growing underneath......I could not be happier.......The lipo was put to good use, my breasts are fuller, and the cleavage is more pronounced.  All in all, a GOOD day....

Sharon, congratulations on reaching the finish line!  Hooray for being done!   I hope to follow you sometime next spring, maybe.

Bailey, hope you are resting comfortably.......

Everyone else, my love to you,too.......XO

    Merry xmas!!!!

BDavis, I can't imagine how the tattooing could cause pain, unfortunately.  I remember  when they came at me with that big needle to do my first fill on my expanders.  I thought I was going to faint, and then I never felt a thing. Then he drained a seroma and I never felt that either.  I have a question for you, did you lose feeling at your GAP site like some do on their tummies? Just curious. Also, do the NOLA guys do any work with implants?  I have heard they are strickly flap guys, but I thought I would ask.

I was just sneak peaking....Ohmygosh, omg, omg.... my boobs are looking GREAT!!!! I am thrilled. So much smaller!!!! So symmetrical!!! Holy carp. I can't even believe it. They are bruised and covered in stitches, etc but they look great lol! Hard, painful spots on the side and underneath have been removed. I asked for a picture of the encapsulated fat necrosis but she forgot :(  I was just so curious about how the thing that was causing me so pain looked (and so was my OT!)

Ok I'm still dancing with Wilbur a bit, but making me fall asleep at the drop of a hat mostly. I am not steady on my feet yet. I was sent home with pain killer called Nucynta this time and it's not upsetting my stomach, which is great....but it does seem to mess with my stability. But Wilbur was strong with me at first!!!  I emphatically told dh "tell them it is not my crock pot!!!" He just said, " I think you're dreaming,".to which I replied "well of course I am but it's still NOT my crock pot!!"

Ok sleepy agAin.....all is well. Thanks for the sea of love, friends ;)

Movie - Perfect boobs! Who could ask for anything more. Such happy news and I'm so thrilled for you. You've come such a long long way. And finally, boobs with a cherry on top! You deserve nothing less.

Bailey - Wahoo. So happy that Wilbur danced you off your feet and left you with great symmetrical breasts. I hope you stop dreaming about crock pots and start dreaming about lingerie.

No coxafloppin needed for your DH's!

Holy cow - that's the end of the list for 2013. I feel that kind of sadness you feel when you finish a really good book or a season of Downton Abbey. I have loved being a part of everyones worries, concerns, challenges and triumphs.  But there's more healing to do. More topless cycling.  More finish lines to cross. And more surgery adventures in 2014. I love you ladies so much.
