a few thoughts on this former Pres. My dh said he slept through the whole thing. I don't agree with that but wasn't happy then with the office:

Some interesting history here.....I have little time to get into some of these articles, but found this one fascinating.

Chickadee - are you iced in??? Friends near Dallas said it is dreadful.
Jackie - you need to forgive yourself for being anxious about a mammogram - for gawd's sake, we KNOW what they're looking for!!! I get worked up a few weeks before my annual visit to oncologist, and I'm almost 7 years out from diagnosis! I don't think it really ever goes away.
HEMP. My new "kick." As another poster posted re a DF nutrionist talking about protein power made of HEMP.
the organic hulled seeds are yummy. And the Nutivia hemp protein powder is gonna be my new drink with coconut milk.
The seeds are tiny ( expensive) and remind me of a less oily tasting macadamia flavour.
Ok, everyone up here is predicting icemageddon, I am SO tired of the fear mongers, alias ''weather person's" who really like to hear the sound of their own voices..apologies to any weatherpersons we know, but REALLY!
My British friends in London used to wonder why everybody before a snowstorm in the States got diarrhea and needed milk....the reports are ALWAYS of stores selling out of toilet paper & milk. I used to chuckle at that one... -
Some people love this smiley! hahahaha!

Having a LAZY day here today and spent a few minutes reading some older threads. Many of our friends are not here anymore, and I really miss them.
On a brighter note, we finished decorating the house yesterday. The worst thing about putting all that stuff up is having to take it all down! -
This is worth sharing. Spread it far and wide: -

Haha...so true about the belly rubs Blue! -
Don't know if all can access, but the comments are eye-opening to say the least!

just a little icing down here. Ground isn't frozen so it melted pretty quick. Too cold for my bald head though....brrrrrrrr -
Blue - fascinating to click on the FB pages of those "Mandela is a Communist / Terroist" posters. Tea Partiers, Obama haters, righteously religious, etc., etc.k and all of the ones I sampled, from the South. I guess the various stereotypes fit. Their logic and "facts" are getting pretty beat up by the more coherent posters.
2016 is gonna be fun to watch. These TP candidates are walking a fine line between what they really feel (and their base) versus what is the truth. Gonna be really fun to watch them say they want to take healthcare away from millions if they win the election. -
You don't understand Kam. Those nasty "communist" remarks are being made by democrats pretending to be republicans to make the republicans look bad.....what a load of crap. Why only yesterday I read the same "He was a communist, terrorist" comment "somewhere". Maybe that person is a democrat incognito. hahahaha! -
When they are caught with their pants down, just point a finger. Reminds me when we were accused of reporting our own posts to make others look bad. Nuts!!!!!!!!!!! -
Only so much even I can handle so going into pretty picture mode!

Carrots.....I loved every true word in that article which was all of them. I think I may have been for the downtrodden before I ever knew what the actual word meant. Not ringing my own bell, but that was just the way it was.......and I sort of think the majority of people often start out just that way too............but things happen along the way to dull those sensations. Mine lasted for a long time --- in fact, it is generally still there, but it is easy to look around and "spot" the ones who lost it early on. They are the un-Christian, Christians.

Hitting head against the wall over this one.

Blue - love the pics. Those are such weird emoticons - cant figure out what they're supposed to mean?
Hope all are safe & warm - more snow here, and tomorrow am should be like a skating rink! -
One last comment before I go. People who don't bother to read ALL the comments from my link, well then, I have NO DOUBT! Night all......and will the real Martin Bashir please stand up, hahahaaa! Personally, never liked the man....he was that first falling card that culminated with MJ's demise. -
Blue, I let you know the truth behind the comments next week. My tea party sister is coming again for a few days. I will ask her opinion of Mandela and report back -
Prior to his death, I had not remembered that the ANC did engage in some violence, but only after South African police opened fire on unarmed black men women and children who were peacefully protesting apartheid. If Mandela was a terrorist, then were the resistance fighters in World War II also terrorists? Were the fighters at Bunker Hill terrorists? Do we classify some as freedom fighters and others as terrorists depending on their race - on the brutality of the regime - on the ultimate success of the revolution? Just ruminating, based on the horrific comments I read.
Whatever one might think of the fact that Mandela did approve of violence in overthrowing a violent and racist government, once in power, he governed with amazing restraint. The remarkable thing about Mandella was how he navigated the transition from apartheid to majority rule in peace, not seeking revenge against the killers and torturers, instead allowing the country to heal. .
A truly great man and a complex one. -
I agree Alexandria. Besides, he spent 27 years in jail for his contribution to those "crimes". Some people are just idjuts! -
Pip, I'd be afraid to ask. I would feign an unexpected case of dyskinesia and end up punching her in the face, accidentally, of course! hahahahaha! -
I must have missed the Bashir piece you put in Blue and will have to go back and find it. Now and then things get hectic around here and I think......I'll go back as soon as I 'finish' whatever it is.......and I guess I forgot. Maybe I'll have to figure out a reminder.
In the meantime....I did read this piece which again makes me wish I could stay away from Walmart, but in this little town you pretty much ( unless your pretty well off ) have to go where you can get the deals. The thing that is disconcerting is that some of the deals cost less because they are sub-standard, seconds, or a knock-off.
That said, and I'm honest about it.....some of the knock-offs are not bad at all. There is a Keebler knock-off ( hubby nibbles on one cookie a day so she can take a med early ) that is pretty close. So from a bit over $3.00 a package to $1.88. The grocery store ( Scnucks ) has a knock-off as well, but it is a bit more than the Walmart one. hope this shows up .http://i0.wp.com/quietmike.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/walmart_sizebubbles.gif
comparisons in this are out of sight.....if was able to capture the right link.
