If dogs were the teachers you would
Learn stuff like...
When loved ones come home,
Always run to greet them.
Never pass up the opportunity
To go for a joyride.
Allow the experience of fresh air
And the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
When it's in your best interest,
Practice obedience.
Let others know when they've
Invaded your territory.
Take naps.
Stretch before rising.
Run, romp, and play daily.
Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
On warm days, stop to lie on
Your back on the grass.
On hot days, drink lots of water
And lie under a shady tree
When you're happy, dance around
And wag your entire body.
No matter how often you're scolded,
Don't buy into the guilt thing and pout!
Run right back and make friends.
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.
Stop when you have had enough.
Be loyal.
Never pretend to be something you're not.
If what you want lies buried,
Dig until you find it.
When someone is having a bad day,
Be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently.

Life is short and we have not too much time
for gladdening the hearts of those
who are traveling the dark way with us.
Oh, be swift to love! Make haste to be kind.

Thank you Debby. I'm glad you enjoy the thoughts. As for you not having anything more to give, I believe that you do and love to see what you've left on every thread.

Kindness is an inner desire that makes us want to do good things even if we do not get anything in return. It is the joy of our life to do them. When we do good things from this inner desire, there is kindness in everything we think, say, want and do.

Thanks Kari ~ glad you enjoyed it. I find water very calming at times; enervating at others. Very symbolic.

Life's challenges are not supposed to paralyze you, they're supposed to help you discover who you are.

Optimism!
Optimists are right. So are pessimists.
It's up to you to choose which you will be.
--Harvey Mackay
An optimist sees an opportunity in every calamity;
a pessimist sees a calamity in every opportunity.
--Winston Churchill
An optimist is someone who goes after Moby Dick
in a rowboat and takes the tartar sauce with him.
