hi all
Morwenna....glad you got home safe, can't believe the weather there, were lucky here to not really get weather that bad, I think we're protected by the welsh hills here in liverpool but if we do driving in it is something I try to avoid, your braver than me
Web sister....glad you had a nice time with the grand kids but so sad about that poor family losing their mum such a terrible thing to happen....I'm deffo going to be asking edi about sampling one of her wonderful cakes they look amazing
Nihahi...ill try to keep the scouse as simple as possible...lol...at least you can read it and not have to listen to us, even other English people can't understand us haha
Hope everyone is well today and se minimum for those still going through treatment, I'm going to try and venture out today after my collapse still a bit weak but going stir crazy here,
All you Alberta girls stay safe in the bad weather
Take care

Hi

Grey and miserable morning here. No rain or snow yet thank goodness. We Brits moan about the weather but it is nothing compared with what you ladies out there go through.
. Hope you all stay safe and warm.Caitlin, Safe journey home.First concert is on Wednesday for local " old folks " ha ha.( Should be watching not singing.) families arent invited to that one anyway.14th Dec is the big one and DH hasnt mentioned it since, sure when he finds out girls and GD's are all coming he will change his mind. TOUGH, have given his ticket away !!
Like your candle not lantern saying.very true.XMovie, gosh those pockets are crowded.Best wishes for today.X
Momof, hope you are feeling better ? X
Morwenna, so relieved you are safe X
Nihahi, thanks for b/day wishes. Feeling really ancient today hip problem back with a vengeance Doc's appointment in the morning.
Shoulder and back aching too. Might give Tai Chi a go later, at least it is gentle. Keep safe in your winter wonderland. XJackpot, Toxteth great part of the city, we must meet for coffee in town centre in the new year. Macmillan have a new scheme running that when you are going through what you are at the moment they can put you in touch with other ladies who have been there. They will understand and you can pour your heart out to them. Your telephone buddy will ring you at a convenient time for a chat.Breast cancer buddies is the name.X
Websister, welcome back
Time with little people is priceless isnt it ? So sad about that accident
Hope the children recover from their injuries.
Isnt it horrible how bad news about "C" seems to come in all at once. Prayers going out for those involved.
Would be wonderful if Benny could have a new horse one day. Sure there is one out there meant for her, even though Diamond could never be replaced.
Tried to post that pic of me and GD's on here but it comes through as a tiny square
I had a face paint that day to, future SIL put snow and snowflakes on my left cheek ! I kept it there all day much to DH's horror lol. Sat in pub having dinner with family minus santa hat but complete with snowflakes YAY.
Rest if you can XMy DS just rang, he has been waiting 12 weeks to find out if he has lost his job as a care worker. One of his patients said he had struck him in the face, Know he is my boy, but a kinder more gentle man you could not meet. He works with elderly gents with learning difficulties and because he tried to help one keep his finances in order ie. budget his bank account and this person didn't like that, he said my son had punched him in the face !
The man spends way too much on booze and cigarettes but that is his business unless he goes over his allowance.
DS has been cleared but now has to move to another placement ( company policy ) he loses thousands of pounds in overtime and has to travel much further all because someone lied. Really knocks your faith in fellow human beings.
Hey ho at least he still has a job.
DS being a Christian will forgive but his Mom won't, Karma please kick in.Hope you all have slept well.
Love and hugs to ALL X

I am going shopping hope no major drainage while I am gone, going to take some extra bandages with me. This is my baby Rocky,4yrs old and 110#He is mommy's lap dog. momof2.......check in ok????
dakota.....what the heck is going on with your parents!!!! Sheesh!!!! I'm hoping your references to cockroach are in references to his "behaving from afar"....
edi.....sing your heart out girl......I think your choir stuff is awesome!!! Glad things got sorted (somewhat) for your son, though not completely in his favour. Maybe the next position will turn out to be for the best......life moves us along, whether we want it to or not, sometimes. Wish I could see that pic of you....I'd be wearing the face paint too! Tell hubby to get his back checked.....either he's "milking it" as a way of getting out of things he doesn't want to do, or he needs to have someone sort it out for him. Make that therapy appt for yourself. On one of the other threads, a gal posted a wonderful thought. (trust me...this gal has been dealing with huge issues, both physical and emotional) her saying is:
YOU CAN'T WIN, IF YOU DON'T PLAY THE GAME! Applies to quite a few scenarios, I think.
hey all you Brits. A friend of mine, has just learned a friend of hers (in Britain) has just had a MX with recon (don't know what type of recon). She will apparently get more info re: dx and tx in a couple days. I'm not exactly sure where in England she is, but I believe it is in Sussex and is quite rural. Do you know if the BC Phone Buddy program is just local, to the Liverpool area, or could she connect to someone in her area (if she so chooses)? -
quick one before off to choir.
Nihahi, will try and get that pic on here if it is the last thing I do !! Love that saying, very apt for some of us ( me especially ) LOL.
Just come back from a hilarious afternoon with dear Shedman, things are going badly for the poor love. We went to the next village found a cosy pub full of xmas trees and decorations and got him a couple of large whiskies. Liquid WILL go down and they hit the spot. We laughed and laughed as he is such a comedian. He knows there is no hope for him but he just says "sod it I am living for today "Dropped him off home and he is going to have some liquidised soup for his tea. We have got to get some weight back on him again.Pray every night for him. One brave man, my hero
.
Will check with them if applies all over England for buddies and get back to you XDakota, Gosh what a time you had !! Glad all ok now. X
Jackpot, Thought you might be at Linda mc, believe it is wonderful. Fazakerley too. Defo coffee and cake after crimbo. Will pm you with the telephone no. give them a ring if you can.
XSiniberry, Hi I am a fellow coke addict
would have lost it too if not available. love Doggie pic XGotta put on pan of chips ( fries for you foreigners ha ha ) to have with rest of chicken and some petit pois. ( Posh name for farting little peas ) LOL.
Will check back after doing my impersonation of a cat being strangled later.

Lovsya ALL X

Good morning all! So, I finally decided to join the Facebook bunch, could everyone please PM me your fb names? I sent friend requests to Benny, Traii, Morwena - recognized your pictures. :-)
I am so thankful for this group. I don't have a lot to say but I read every day and so much enjoy hearing about everyone's adventures and the way we all support each other through good and bad. Feeling a little emotional today, not sure why! -
Hi to everyone - it is a glorious sunny but cold (3 degrees Celsius) day here in Vancouver. This is a bonus because in the wont we generally get a lot of rain - took the dog for a nice long walk and it was wonderfully restorative!
Morwenna - glad you are home safe and sound.
Nihahi - your words of wisdom about going to the dark places were very helpful.
Edi - enjoy your singing. How awful for your son to have to change his job - but as you say at least he has a job - still, something like that can be hard to deal with.
Momof2 - prayers for you today, hope all goes well.
Liefie - if you are reading - missing you on here and look forward to your return. Bet you are having a blast.
Jackpot - that would be so cool if you and Edi could meet up and have coffee together. Hope you are feeling better today.
Websister - so glad that you had a good time with your grandchildren. My son and his family are coming from Quebec next week so I get to see my grand kids every day for a whole week - it is exciting, but I know it will also be exhausting - 6 month old and a two and a half year old. Yikes!!
Jennie - some days just seem to be very emotional for me too - it is very strange how it sometimes just hits us - you are not alone! -
Hi Ladies,
Just hanging out "lurking'. I have an okay day followed by a day/night from ^&*)....I go for followup tomorrow...I have a lot of questions. Hope I have them all written down, and also hope tomorrow is not a bad day because DH cannot go to appt with me. Gosh, the thought of "me" actually doing something on my own...(Southern sarcasm)
So here is my question, which I am desperately trying to wait till tomorrow, but it "hurts". On Sunday, I noticed a knot and redness at the site of my IV. I normally wear my watch and found it suddenly uncomfortable. Then yesterday I had a slight skin tear on that same knot. I put triple antibiotic ointment on it and a bandage. Today there is no change; it is still red and you can tell that it is following the vein where I received chemo last Monday. This is not a bruise and is getting me a little concerned with my immunocompromised state. Anyone have something similar?
Next question...this Neulasta is a killer...the bone pain exceeds my memory of childbirth. Again, Sunday night from ^&*(...I laid on moist heat trying to get some relief. I finally gave up around 4 am and took 2 Hydrocodone/Acetaminephin 5/500. That shut down to pain. I just do not want to take something that can mess up all these drugs(poison) in my body. Neulasta is suppose to be a 10 day time release....certainly hope it is finished with me by Friday, because I am counting the days!!
My chemo induced cyber shopping is being delivered daily. DH is not one to question anything I do, but I think he looked at the CC statement online....because he said for me not to worry about the Discover card. What, me worried, about a credit card? HA HA HA I am more concerned about the 5 bolts of fleece I bought to make doggie blankets for the pups at the shelter.
Hey, on the more serious side....my GI tract FINALLY got the message from Senekot-S. That was really cramping my day, too.
Movie...hope you are doing well...Oh what a difference a year makes
Liefie...About time for some pictures..hope you had a fabulous time.
Nihahi... Thank you for your incredible wisdom.
Dakota....you continue to amaze me with your busy schedule and devotion to your kids .
Benny..(((HUGS)))
And to all that I might have missed, have a wonderful evening. Stay warm and safe at home.
Love,
Jenifer -
Ugghhhh Jenifer! It sounds like you are having a tough time. Hope things get better for you soon! {{{Gentle hugs}}}
We're having a nice day so far. The wind has dropped and it is "only" -13 ...... did I just say that?
..... So we have cleared the drive, dug out the kids car, and been down to the store to get some provisions, and some Christmas booze! I got some Stones Ginger Wine, just for old times sake
Watching Groundhog Day again again!
-
Our parking lot this afternoon.....thankfully.....not my car!
-
nihahi - that's a lot of snow.
Momof2 - so sorry you are not feeling well. Neulasta pain is crippling - I cringe when I think of the pain from it. I didn't get any of the redness around the IV site, but it does sound worrisome to me - hopefully you can hang in with it until tomorrow, but if the redness and pain get any worse at all, I suggest not waiting until tomorrow. I have never shopped online, but you are definitely making me curious about it. -
Hi
,
Flamin Nora Nihahi, that is one hell of a parking lot !! Stay safe. XMomof, big ((( HUG ))) good luck with followup I have check up on Monday with Onco, first one since finish of treatment and have filled a page with questions, only way to remember
.
Glad you got GI sorted that alone can make you feel yuk.
Hope bone pain subsides and quick. XMovie, thinking of you X
Liefie, if you are reading we are ALL desperate to see you in all your finery, and of course everybody else. X
Jennie will PM you with f/b details X
Morwenna, Stones ginger wine, FANTASTIC stuff. My Mom's favourite especially at this time of year. Enjoy X
Eyes drooping, up the apple and pears to Noddy land. X
-
Jenifer, the first Neulasta was by far the worst, seems like most find that to be the case, so take heart from that. Did you take the Claritin? If not, give that a try next time, I think it helps. My MO even recommended it. -
Jennie? Did I respond to your fb request?
If not I apologize, but please send again, preferably with a message as I'm getting confused as to who is who!!! *blush* -
That's an amazing amount of snow, Nihahi! Thanks for your words of wisdom - I will attempt to apply them.
So sorry the Neulasta is giving you grief, Momof2. I must have been an oddball, since although my MO predicted I would be prone to pain from Neulasta, I had none - but I did have significant bone pain from Taxol. Also, although he didn't think Claritin would help with Neulasta pain, he recommended I take it while on Taxol. It seems like many, many women on these boards claim that Claritin helped them through Neulasta.
Edi, sorry to hear about your son's employment woes. Also sad that the shedman isn't doing so well. Sing your heart out tomorrow!
Dakota, hope your parents are doing well. Congrats to your DS on his tournament win!
Jackpot, I'm sure you and Edi will have a grand time together if you're able to meet up!
Websister, glad you made it back home safely. Terribly sad story about the family involved in that accident.
Well, don't know if it's residual chemo brain, or what, but have lost my keys, both car and house. After frantically searching to no avail when I got home from work, have concluded I must have left them in Louisville. Had to take DH's truck to work today and looks like I may have to borrow it for the rest of the week.
Have a good evening everybody! -
Caitlin....Oh I really feel your frustration, I do hope you are able to back track your steps and locate your keys. I have done similar things and it is just such anxiety. I tried to get an answer during chemo and before the Neulasta shot about taking Claritin, but the nurse(s), medical assistant, just disregarded my question. So tomorrow I actually have an appointment with the PA, so I hope to get answers to my page of questions.
I am not a social media person; I do not have a cell phone, twiitter, no Facebook, or any of the other accounts. You can google my name and nothing about the real me appears. BCO is the only site on which I have let myself appear. Lately, with my highs and lows of this damn disease I have found myself spending too much time on these boards. Therefore, I am going to take a leave of absence until I get through this and my DD wedding. I am going to work on fighting this and coming out on the other side...literally, my next post will be from Oregon!!
I wish all the best to you lovely ladies. Have the best holiday with your love ones and hope that all of us will have big smiles on our faces this next Spring. I have agates in my pockets TNS.
Love to all,
Jenifer -
We all take different paths, Jenifer. May your journey through chemo be successful and tolerable. Sending hugs to you. -
momof2 - we will miss you, but I totally hear you when you say that these boards take a lot of time. I hope all goes well for you with the remaining chemo and this upcoming Christmas season. Good idea to make out a list of questions to ask - hope you get relief from the bone pain! I did take Claritin son the day of the shot and for about 5 days after - it did help me. -
Hi

Momof we WILL miss you but know where you are coming from. Even if you don't post for a good while pop on and see what we are all up to, you might still get some advice and help that way.
Have a wonderful Christmas
and Very Happy New Year.
Wedding to look forward to, now that is lovely, we must have pics please when that happens if you can.
We TNS salute you and keep you in our hearts and thoughts always ,as will ALL the warrior sisters.
Love and hugs XCaitlin, Hope keys turn up, check the fridge ! I have been known to put them in there along with my wallet

Good Luck with your chemo momof 2 we will miss you but know you will continue on this journey with your head held high full of positive vibes and energy. You can do this. Enjoy your DDs wedding and your Christmas with your family. Take Care x
Oh Caitlin, oh where are those keys. In the fridge is a definite check, like Edi I've been known to put anything and everything in there, salt, bread crumbs, even the tv remote control!! , maybe in the cupboard? under your pillow? in your trousers? pockets? good luck..LOL BTW I LOVE your avatar, absolutely adorable x
Oh bad nana Edi...LOL. you forgot your GDs birthday....don't be sad. You ARE allowed to forget things once in a while. I take it you didn't have to make a cake for her then !! just as well because it would have been a bought one from the supermarket..LOL
Dakota, hope your parents are getting better. Huge Congrats on the tournament win to your son from me. Well done champ
Jackpot, welcome to the crazies. (then again you are from Edis neck of the woods so crazy is in your gene...LOL) its ok we are known for it here in Australia...LOL
Morwenna, I was confused on FB this morning. Lucky you sent a message, then I saw Jennies request and went who's that ..LOL but I accepted her and sent her a message
Nihahi, how you going? welcome back. It's are to keep track of where everyone is now a days isn't it. I don't come on for a couple of days and boy do these woman know how to talk....and here I was thinking you were the biggest chatter box...LOL ..... all we need is liefie to hurry on in.....bet she is having a great time
Love the pic of the 'parking lot' boy, when it snows there it really snows ! we have to drive a couple of hours to get to the mountains where it snows. I endeavour to take my DS there next years winter, think we will have a blast on the snowboards and building snow man and to think you walk out your door and have this, amazing x
Siniberry, cute doggy
Hope you ended up getting your coke fix !
Well girls and anyone I've missed, have a lovely day. I'm off to bed shortly, just after midnight, should get some sleep ( still averaging 5 hours if not less) . Going to speak to someone tomorrow about lymphatic massage. Seems that my right arm where the lymph nodes were removed swells with the heat (we've only had a couple of really hot days) and I can tell the difference. Not happy! so will see if massage works because no matter how much 'excercise' I'm giving my lymphatic system myself. It just comes back swollen
xxx -
Hi all....back to the land of the semi-functioning.....surgery went well.....if that can be judged by the unsightly bruises covering my torso......
Actually, PS was very happy.....I, on the other hand, am not, as I am stuck in this ungodly compression body suit for 2 weeks 24/7, due to lipo......how in the world to people voluntarily put themselves through this $**¥? Took an OxyContin last night to sleep.....was up 3 times because of the torture device.....okay, rant over.......
Momof2......will miss your positive spirit here, but totally understand.....do check in once in a while and let us know how you are getting on.....I really would love to meet up next summer, when you come to Yachats....it's only 3 hours away......have a glorious Christmas, and enjoy DD's wedding.....we love you!
Hope all are doing well...and Caitlin.....hope your keys turn up.......I am famous for doing things like that....have done them for years....I choose to think of it as a sign of very high intelligence...(can't be bothered with the unimportant stuff like car keys and such......I can't do the faces on my IPad , or I would add rolling eyes here! ).
Love you all!
XO -
momof2 - sending hugs. Looking forward to hearing from you again in the spring. Please feel free to check in any time. I also found relief from taking Claritin day of and for 7 days following Neulasta. I had a lot of pain with Taxotere and so have others, I am wondering if that is contributing in your case also? Hope you get it all sorted out with the MO today.
Caitlin - hope you find the keys or get new sets quickly
Edi - don't beat yourself up re: birthday - I am finding memory issues to be a real problem also
Movie - good to hear from you, hope recovery goes smoothly for you
Better get moving - I have meetings on opposite ends of the city today - lots of traveling and have to be 'on' for the meetings
Greetings to all I did not mention, hope it's a good day for everyone -
I hear ya Jenifer! Good luck and smooth sailing with all your treatments. xxx -

You all have such beautiful pictures of where you live, thought I would pop this one on. Taken in the late summer, this is the view over my back fence and just over the stream.

-

Don't know how I am getting these pics to go on here, but this is today after my first carol concert !! Had a wonderful time
The lady at the front in black is our conductor, she has just had her 85th birthday .Excuse my dopey expression didnt think my new phone's camera would actually work. -

Now on a roll !! Pic taken on my birthday on Saturday. Nihahi, blue left cheek is face painting, it looked better in real life honest.
Next to eldest GD DID forgive me for lack of card. She should receive it tomorrow. She blames Xmas post bless her
-

Last one for now, this one makes me want to cry. Taken on cruise with DH, I had just found " The Lump " kept checking in the shower hoping it would vanish. The rest as they say is history.Wish DH had missed off the plate of food typical man.
