Happy Thanksgiving to my beautiful friends at TOL!!!! -
Happy late Thanksgiving from me to TOL ♥
Got home while ago...it was a very pleasant day with family and ex family etc -
Today I left the house about 7:20AM to see my DD and SIL run the 5K Turkey Trot in Ayer, MA. It was freezing. Then we went to warm up in the Ayer Fire Station for some hot coffee and apple crisp then went to Dunkin Donuts for breakfast. About 11:30 we headed to Plymouth, MA to visit the Plimoth Plantation, saw most of the sites and had a real nice Thanksgiving Buffet, I am stuffed. LOL. The traffic was terrible, normally it would have taken about an hour. It took us 2 1/2 hrs. So, we did not have time to tour the Mayflower. -
Nick & Rebekah this morning after running the 5K Turkey Trot. -
Here's all three and a little bit more of us after the race. -
Deb, your day sounds wonderful....the photos are great.
Happy Thanksgiving (((TOL))) -
Happy belated Thanksgiving to all of my TOL friends. Hope your day and weekend was and is the best! -

My grandson and grandaughter made hand-painted ceramics forme - a bowl and a travelmug. Love the hand made stuff!
e had a last minute trip toRadio City Show in NY Saturday -- DD#1 came up from DC unexpectedly with2 grandsons and we had a good time. This was the first year they actually behaved all the way through the show and lunch.
Sheila, thanks for mentioning Sandy. I have been thinking of her each day.
(((TOL))) -

Sheila!!! Yay!!!
Sandy - glad to hear from you.
(((TOL))) -
So happy that you are out of the hospital, Sandy. Hope that they figure out what's causing you the difficulty.
Sheila, do you know if the baby is a girl? I bought a set of girly stuff when DIL was expecting their first and ended up buying a bunch of boy stuff just before we went to see them and putting the girl stufft back in a drawer until Lala arrived. -
Meece.....It's a girl
good morning TOL -
Sheila, just keep shopping....go grandma!!!
Sandy, so sorry you are feeling frustrated...I hope you find some good choices that can make a difference. (((HUG)))
Meece, my grandkids that went to the show are (boys) 10, 8, 4 and (girl) 8.
Thanks for the ongoing BD wishes....BD was a week ago but we still have cake
Today for the first time I looked up my retirement calculator. Of course, I can't retire...but I started to dream about it.
Grading papers tonight....dozens...no, maybe hundreds. Gotta get it done. -
when I hear ages of grandchildren I feel old....I have...Boys, 30,28,27,26,23,21,21,20,15,14.......;..girls..31,31,30,23,19,18,13,12.........only babies are great grand kids....all girls....2, 2, 5 months, ..........a new one in April 2014, no sex yet......so I feel old next to you Chickens...." -
Ducky - you were probably just more efficient than me, getting it all done early so you could enjoy it. -
Back from my trip north; there was enough snow to build a snowman & to pull the grandkids around on a sled. Almost fell down a couple of times but didn't! The little Mister tried to fool Grandma - kept trying to tell me deer tracks & rabbit tracks that were in & out of the woods were Bigfoot tracks! Ha! He is a storyteller like his Grandpa! They are more fun each year!
I don't remember if I wished you a Happy Birthday on FB or not, Joan. I hope you had a spectacular day! I did see your pictures from NY with your Grandchildren. Beautfiul! And wonderful memories, too.
Aw, a girl.... Sheila, you know that I am soooo very happy for you!

I had kids young, but not that young. I was so flattered the other day I was at the hospital with DS2, I stayed talking to his dr. while he went to have a scan. When I went downstairs to the imaging dept, I went to the desk and asked if I was in the right place to wait for my son and gave the man at the desk his name and number, the man said yes, but started shaking his head. I asked what was wrong (thinking DS said something smart to him) and he said "You're too young to be his mama." I was thrilled because that's not what I see when I look in the mirror. I had him when I was 24. It is nice to be young enough to play in the floor with grand babies. -
Last night we were Skyping with Patch and Lala. DH stepped into the camera view and Patch (29 mo.) turns to Lala (6 1/2 mo.) and says, "That's PawPaw!" It was so cute! I have started reading books to them when we Skype. It is the only way to get this 2 1/2 yr. old to sit still so I can just adore him. I can't be there in person to read bedtime stories, but this is the next best thing. Before I Skpye I make sure I have a book nearby. -
Meece, that is so sweet...never thought of reading over Skype...I am a new Skyper and was so surprised at how well it went. When my 2yo Caroline saw me she just lit up...and so did I! 6 yo Charlotte demo'd her new pogo stick. It was great. But you are right...they do not want to sit still! I will have a short book ready next time! I can tell how much you miss them. And you do look very young! You deserve the flattery....
There's an old military gig where when the senior officer meets a guy's wife, he would say "and this is your daughter?" Always brings chuckles and smiles.
Val, what a wonderful Thanksgiving/Christmas visit you had. Snow and all...I know how exhausting it is to play in the snow...especially with snowsuits and pulling them around...But it makes a memory. I hope your heart stays full for a long time.
Ducky, what a beautiful legacy....and babies too....you are blessed. I find having a big family is like being on a roller coaster. Lots of ups and downs; but there's always something going on! Do you ever get most of you together?
I have a 23 year old grandson...I was a young mom and DD#2 was a young mom. He lived with us since he was 6 weeks old, even when DD left for a job and got married and moved away. Kyle is more like a son - just 6 years younger than my youngest.Am at work...putting off the inevitable...
(((TOL))) -
i love being able to skype with my GD too since they are not here - I have started buying two of some of the books i send her, keeping one for myself. That has made it fun too....
Joan - hope you got all that grading done last night
Sheila - go easy on the pink, grammaYou are going to love this little girl like nobody's business!
Chris - I need a fun story from your life......come back.
Deb - your daughter looks just like you. Do you know what they are having yet?
Val - so glad you had that time with the family.
Meece - it must be getting a bit cold even there this week?
Sandy - glad you are home again. Hope the boys are treating you like a queen.
Ducky and Granny - good morning.
Tomorrow my daughter is having surgery on her sinuses - it's probably not going to be pretty but I hope it is worth it. -
Diane, I had sinus surgery done 20 yrs ago. It was worth it. It is painful, but I understand that they have some advances in the packing since then as well.
I never thought of buying a copy of the book for the GKs, good idea. -
Meece - getting anxious about tomorrow but it's got to be done. At least if I buy the books at Costco or Amazon it's not too bad.
