DebDylan, I am sorry about your divorce but I guess we have to 'chemo' stuff that hurts us!
Have a wonderful day! -
today is 5 days after AC and there is no way I could sit for 8 hrs. Deb is there anyway u could move it? -
im in hospital with diverticulitis. Bad diarrhea. Will post later. Inthink i am done with chemo. Not worth losing part of colon. Love you guys -
oh no wrenn, keep us posted and we will be thinking of you. Stay strong -
wren - oh no! Have they checked you for c-diff from all of the long term antibiotics?
-
Wren - so sorry you are so sick. Thinking of you ! -
Oh Wrenn, please hang in there. Try not to make any decisions about chemo right now. Just focus on getting better...... -
Wrenn - so sorry to hear you are so sick you need to be in the hospital. Sending support and healing thoughts your way....... -
Wrenn, I am praying for you -
wrenn so sorry...I will oray for you -
wrenn - hope you are feeling better now. -
Good luck Wrenn, so sorry to read your news. It's just one thing after another with this evil cancer. I will keep you in my prayers,
Denise4603 -
Wrenn, so sorry you are having problems. I think that is one of the possible SEs too! Your doc should be able to tweak your meds to prevent that from happening again. Rest and discuss it with the docs before you make any decisions. -
Wrenn, sorry to hear this. Are you ok emotionally? All the damn side effects. I hope your Dr and team can make you comfortable and give you options. You are in my thoughts Wrenn. (((hugs))) -
Thinking of you Wrenn...
Kbee-thanks for your response, it always makes me feel better when someone else has the same uncommon SE! I noticed we had our surgeries within days of each other so that makes me feel even better. And yes, it's that iron bra feeling, hating it! -
Wrenn- so sorry to hear that you are in hospital! Are you at the VGH ? I will be at the cancer clinic tomorrow for TX # 3 , let me know if can get you anything...... Just send me a note, I will have my IPAD with me. My thoughts are with you this evening . Hugs -

Thinking of you Wrenn... -
I have my TC #4 on Wednesday, anybody else this week? This is my last one! I can't get over it! A milestone! -
Nicole were you able to touch base with Wrenn? Just thinking about her.
I hope your treatment went well. -
You guys are the best ever. I could read on my stupid iphone 4 but had a hard time to post. I am home but might have to go back. Hgb went from 122 to 109 so they are not sure if still bleeding or diluted from IV fluids. I will have it checked in 2 days and go back for scan if still low.
Fatique has set in and neutrofils quite low. I am taking flagyl and cypro now so that hurts the gut too.
My theory on chem right now is that for a 10% chance of kicking cancer (that I might not have) it really isn't worth it to ruin my colon. I have had diverticulitis before and because I have diverticulosis am more susceptible. I really think that life would be better with colon in place and gamble on the breast cancer. I am 66. Will discuss with onc but that is where I am right now.
I cannot tell you how much it meant to me to read your posts. I wish I had a better phone so I could have responded but reading was very comforting.
Nicole, I thought of you this morning knowing you were just down the street and I hoped you were doing ok. One more to go for you. I hope this one is an easy ride for me. Check in when you are up to it and thank you so much for your kindness.
Huge hugs to everyone here....xoxoxoxoxo -
Hi Ladies
Last Tuesday I had my 3 round of AC. So far I have not had really bad side effects. This last round I had flu like symptoms after the Neulasta shot, but by Friday I was better. I told my Onc that I would like some type of scan to see if my tumors are responding. Today I had a Ultrasound on both sides. My left 2 tumors (2.3cm/9mm) TN have shrunk. The 2.3 about 40% to 1.4 and the 9mm about 1/3. My right tumors HER2+(9mm/1cm) cannot be found anymore on the Ultrasound! My last AC is on 10 Dec and then I go on to 12 rounds of Taxol weekly. I hope it all continues like this :-)

Wrenn - so glad to hear that you are home! Thinking about you and your difficult decision with chemo.
Headeast - I will be joining you on Wednesday. I have my 1st Taxol on Wednesday.
I'm a little anxious about it since it's the first. The whole speech I got about how they will watch me closely for a reaction and what they do to prevent it, etc made me nervous. I asked my husband to take a day off from school to take me (a friend usually goes with me) - not sure what he can do to help, but it will make me feel better. Part of it is that I got used to the AC routine and knew what to expect, so now it's more wait and see. My MO said 99% of his patients said T is easier than A&C so that was good to hear. I'm also not looking forward to the high doses of Dex (steroid) that I have to take before I get there - 20 mg at 12:30am and another 20mg at 6:30 am. I don't like how I feel on it or the side effects. But, this too shall pass....... -
Wrenn - I am so glad you are home. I hope you are feeling better. I understand completely your logic regarding the chemo. -
Wrenn, are you feeling better? This is a hard decision to make. Will they give you options? -
I know how the AC is worked, but with the taxol is the schedule the same as AC once a week or everyday? AC is once a week right? lol.. Sorry y'all I'm still awaiting to get my oncotype score. Just found out that my insurance is not covering that bill, but they told me I was eligible at a 100% and didn't have to pay, thank God. I just want to get this thing going and stop waiting. -
pam i took clonazepam or ativan on days i took the steroids and a sleeping pill (zopiclone) on those days as well. Those were my best days.
I still have a lot of stomach pain but i think it is part of the side effects and is not that bad. Maxeran helps.
I will talk to onc but am pretty sure i am quitting. I feel guilty for that since you are all so strong with much worse time of it.
One funny thing was when i told my daughter i might quit and then said to her "oh crap i shaved my head for nothing" but then remembered that hair loss happens with first treatment. -
Wrenn, your daughter is hilarious! Hair falls on days 14-15 not all the way but enough to make her happy, lol!
For the stomach pain I took GasX, Motrin. It helped.
Whatever you decide will be the best. Your surgery removed all of it and chemo 1 removed whatever was left, plus your hair. -
headeast i hesitated even mentioning giving up with a group of soldiers that i have met here. There is more courage on this forum than i have come across in my 66 years. I include the ones who have pity parties because that kind of trust is a special kind of courage.
I should have known i would only get compassion here...and hope. Xoxoxoxoxo -
Wrenn, you are not giving up. We all have to measure our risks vs benefits. Your risk has changed immensely and like you said, you can not risk your colon.
My question about the options was more for your MO.
Yes, the ladies in this site ate true warriors! Women always stick together!
