Early this am I was on facebook and one of my friends posted on her website an article that said Chemo kills more people than it helps. I am a meek person normally but I posted on her site this is not what I need to see right now...chemo is one of the few options I have. She prefaced the post by saying don't stone the messenger. I never heard anything back and went back to look and found nothing...I thought how thoughtless can you be!

Maybe an update here would be good for Ro, Wins and Rocky too. i.e sinkholes? BTW is there a geology thing that explains why so many sinkholes on your side of the state?

Hello ladies...I haven't been posting much, can't wait to get thru chemo and then I remember oh yeah I have radiation next and go back to work while doing so. And now that I really think about it it pisses me off! My job is kind a black and white kinda thing either you work or don't work during medical issues. I don't feel like I am near ready to go back to work...I have two more chemo treatments and no way can I work and I am suppose to return about 3 weeks after last treatment if I want to get paid. I can go back on disability if I return to work for 1 full week. I am so lucky in so many respects I feel guilty that I am so deeply angry about this. Most people work during radiation I believe....but I don't want to!!!!! Thanks for letting me vent!

Thanks for asking about me sas...hope all is well with you. The italics are just because I hit a wrong key and I don't know how to fix it.!

Wins--rehit button and it will reverse it :)  Love if you must work the week try, then take off as long as allowed. management of BC by human resources and society is barbaric. Don't feel bad at all about taking every single minute off you can.get.

Me, I don't know if you remember Iwas dx'd with Bc and a brain tumor the same day. I thought it best to tell the boss. B?C of the brain tumor she relieved me from nursing duty, never worked again. Being truthful -----hmmm doesn't apply to cancer.

A great web site CancerandCareers.org has a huge amount of info related to the in's and outs of CA and the workplace. Wish I'd seen it before I was so honest.

Sas, sort of like you, and the Beach Boys. I get around.

The sinkhole ate 2 houses, 4 more may be condemned. A backhoe pulled the boat out. Final size, 70x90 feet deep. The owners had been fighting with Citizens for 2 years, sued, to get work done. Started 2 days before.

Yes, Hernando, Pasco, Hillborough counties are THE most prone, Pinellas to a lesser extent. It has to do with the limestone formation around here, when the water level goes down, so does what's on top.

Spookie, Citizens ran then around for 2 years. No one can predict if the work had ben corrected immediatelt that they wouldn't be facing this. BUT may be a good lawyer good find out. I hate insurance companies since my flood 1/7/13. Still not done and they sent a letter that said state law says they don't have to be responsibleafter x amount of time. Letter came two months after the date. I just turned the whole package over to DS the Lawyer in Tampa. Hope he does me well. Wish I'd given it to him day one. Lesson learned.

Ro, funny, chilli and peppers weather. Doing okay here. Getting ready for T-day. Have a cleaning gal now. I do side along cleaning. It was a good choice to get her. SHE'S GGREAT!  I'm not safe on ladders anymore. Plus , I don't mind doing housework with someone. I detest it alone. We are also doing serious decluttering. DB is helping to declutter. You wouldn't see much on the surface. It's cupboards, drawers, and closets. Not a hoarder, but ........................

Spookie, the only places I post are STFU, here, and Insomnia. I have a few of my own threads and then watch a couple.  I love the postcard too :) It'd be fun to send that out as xmas card.

Whew with those sinkholes, guess they aren't an issue on the east coast. I likely should find out.  Any idea as to whose responsible for tracking them.

Mary, I'm coming over too pick up a chair in tampa. Most likely after xmas . Any how was going to get together with Spookie and call SpecialK and Galsal. Are you in for dinner?

    Rocky and Lovewins and sandcastle----helloooooooooo

Everyone have a lovely Thanksgiving ! sassy

Hi Everyone! Did sas say something about staying off of ladders? Well, wouldn't you know... just when I thought things were getting better now that my fingers have had surgery and in the process of healing... I broke my foot. Stress fracture. Was walking around for the past 4 weeks limping and thinking that I pinched a nerve or had a messed up muscle, etc. Well, I went in for an xray and sure enough I did indeed have a break in there. I'm very active and during the month I was giving myself a million different reasons for this foot pain. Once the doctor showed me the break on the xray it all came back to me. It was around the time I fell of the wall... remember that one :-). A few weeks after that incident, I was up on the ladder and I recall slipping down a rung. It hurt, but I was so happy I didn't fall off the ladder that I went on with my business. Well, shit! I actually busted it. So, here I am in this lovely boot. Good thing it's black and matches my wardrobe! I suppose I should be cheeezed, but then I would only be cheezing myself. Wait... doesn't cheezing yourself make you blind??? Oh, wait... thinking of something else ;-).

ROCkeyyyyyyyy, Chit. Are bodies are not what they used to be. Even if we pretend. AI's I know . Tamox no experience. High spaces --like standing on the counter to do high up decorative work(knee wall--technical name), and bow windows----in a normal(?) state I found I got distracted. Almost walked off the counter a couple of times. I did walk off the Bow window-----thank god I fell onto the bed. Haven't done either for at least 7-8 years. (based on bc years plus). But simple fan cleaning and shelve cleaning that require a step stool---- wrong can't trust the bones, ligaments, or tendons. Were falling apart.

BUT, BUT, BUT..........I have been butting about it for along time. These frigging drugs have caused so many problems------then all the drugs we take to relieve the problems cause problems----------the question is?

How do we know when something is abnormal?

You walked around on a busted foot------it may have been busted the first time , or the second time completed  it.

My reality is--I had a brain tumor. My brain tumor was found only as a result of evaluating me from a fall and complaints on the other side of the brain. Brain tumors have signs and symptoms at a given point. Brain tumor was removed b/c it grew.. Brain tumor was found an reported same day as BC.

MY research showed my type of brain tumor can be ER+ and can be origin point for BC or the reverse--------------                                                       BC<---------> Meningioma

Removed, eh done.........how do I tell?

This is my usual head------headaches  frontal post sx, (Old) tinnitus--changes from bilateral/side to side/ intensity/quality. (Old)Changes in sense of smell--from intense to absent. (Old and new)Changes in eyesight--all over the board. (Old) Optic migraines-varies. (Old) Hearing-nerve loss and affected by barometric pressure. (New) psychometric and (new and old) in psychological, vertigo(bppv) that can change all ranges (lol started with knocking heads in middle of the night sex)

How the hell am I suppose to know if there's a brain change.

Rocky -you accepted your foot pain, because---------------so many things were abnormal, this was just another abnormal, you deal with it and moved on.

We are being hurt by this.

Thankfully , I do have a PCP that is responsive to anything I say. I know  others aren't as lucky.

    Oh cluster cowcakes.

    BTW have a great T-day

Sas, it must be contagious! I've made 4 trips to Goodwill in the last 2 weeks and donated a buttload of medical supplies to a charity clinic. (And if you remember what those med supplies were for, you'll appreciate my pun!) I'm not a hoarder either, I'm a COLLECTOR! lol

Rock, dammit, I'm sorry about your foot. Time to burn some more sage. Oh, but how about this? Next time someone cheezes you off, flip them the bird and kick 'em with your boot and say "Sorry, uncontrollable side effects from BC! Just a spasm." Damn, I'm stealing that one!

Spook, my hubby was in the Gulf a week ago and it was 46 degrees at night. I'm going to knit your sand snowman a scarf! Now I've just got to learn to knit.

Ro, yes I got the pun Yay to sending the stuff of to the Charity

Di and I worked for eight hours today and then I realized I hadn't done the frig, that was another 1 1/2 hours. I've taken four pain pills. Don't remember ever taking that much in a day. She went home with the back of her van full of stuff. She could say -Yay or Nay........Food processor, dishes, napkin rings, glass platter, ramikins, place mats, whew lots of more stuff. My biggest thing to part with was a Stow Vermont cutting board. There collectible. It sold  in the vicinity of $75 new, plus or minus 30-40years ago  maybe longer than that.. I thrifted it for $1.00  cleaned and sanded it. Solid maple about an an inch and quarter. When she oils it, I wish I could see her face.

Garage sailed a painting for $25. Found the artist and a similar painting she done that sold for $980. Made a deal with Di. She can sell it. She can pay me the 25, whatever else she can get for it, is hers for tuition. Her sister knows how to do Craig's list. Hope she can get something for it. She's motivated and I'm sure her sis will get into it b/c they are so close.

Have a 2nd load for my cousin. I'm decluttering like crazy.

Really need to start thinking about t-day dinner. So miss my dance partner DH. We used to have sooooooo much fun doing these holiday dinners. We were a real team. We could do from a dozen to 2 dozen and make it look so easy.

Doing a New York Strip Roast 2 four pounders with choice of Aus Jus or bernaise,  Never have done this roast before, but sounds good. Everyone's bringing an assigned thing.

Don't know if I'll be on tomorrow---So HAPPY THANKSGIVING MY FRIENDS, MAY YOUR DAY BE BEAUTIFUL AND ALL YOUR DINNERS TURN OUT PERFECT L&H'S SASSY

Sas, I'm not too familiar with restaurants in Tampa, so let's see if Spookiesmom has any ideas. If not, we'll chat. My daughter will be here from Dec. 16 through Jan. 2, but I think you were talking about getting together after that, right?

I'm done with chemo and surgery, and in the beginning of reconstruction. Just like I thought, all of a sudden, to everyone I am fine and all the help and concern is over. I am still dealing with not only chemo and surgical issues, but now I have to deal with this horrible year long reconstruction. Cancer isn't a cold, it doesn't end when your nose stops running. I want to scream, I am depressed! I am worried about recurrence! I think everyone is tired of going through this with me (ha) and now I am truly on my own.
