Love your news, chickadee, something to be really thankful for on thanksgiving day! I hope I get stable news tomorrow, too!!
Husband is having an angiogram and possible stent insertion (third time around) tomorrow. Hoping all goes well!!
Tomorrow will be a big day for this family!
Yeah for the senate .... I don't get why more people aren't outraged at the republicans trying to shut down our government. Loved the sign about "why do they run if they hate government so much". -

And definitely on their conscience if they have one at all. -

Would you bet your life on that Mitchie Baby. !!!!! -
Not a huge picture, but taken from my deck and shows how dense it can be at our house......we since lost a couple of trees, but they were out by the drive-way and have only a slight amount of bearing of how it looks on our deck at high noon. .
Can't imagine being in town, but we are getting to an age where this is becoming quite a burden but mainly in the Fall. Much of the rest of the year ( little tricky with some snow falls ) is fairly much all right. When we first bought the house it appraised pretty high...........bottom dropped out and we would be hard put to sell any time soon.

Glenna......will send lots of vibes for everything to go well tomorrow for both you and hubby. Would be nice for you and hubby too to celebrate along with Chickadee. I'm sure she would love to have company to celebrate with on Thanksgiving.
I was so busy posting earlier.....I didn't see your post. I hope everyone will end up with really good things to be thankful for on Thanksgiving.
Jackie -
Glenna - all good thoughts for your getting GOOD results too. Also, your DH, on his surgery. You must both be on tenderhooks. Won't say "try to relax" - not possible, but we're all in your pocket, with wine, chocolate, and we'l do the worrying for you too.
Lets all have a VERY thankful Thanksgiving - which is also the first day of Hanukkah. Special Day. -
GlennaE,
My DH has 11 stents. Four of the stents are inside two previous stents, i.e. two new stents inside each of two old stents. I asked the cardiologist what causes these blocked arteries when my husband has his LDLs under 100. The doctor said it was low HDLs that cause blockage. The only thing that reliably raises HDLs is exercise, but how much and how long is still not known.
By the way, the doctor said he has a woman patient with 22 stents and she is 84 years old.

gods I hope so...getting tired of the GOP 50 attempts to kill Obamacare. They were behind Romney when he did it... -
the GOP. After 50 attempts to dismantle Obamacare...they r still trying. -
Ferret, welcome to the "strange" board!
Glenna, don't know anything about stents, but sending good wishes for your DH. -
-
haha!
-
Thinking of Glenna and her DH...
Blue, glad I don't get the one with Obama - but then I don't know much about the current culture...happily out of it all.
Just finished The Goldfinch, by Donna Tartt - everybody RUN to get that book.
RAIN.
Sending HUGS to Enjoyful - what's happening? Not on FB, so if anybody knows, plz post here. ta. -
Sunny -- E is hanging in! Good news is that she's off to South Africa next month as a guest of her brother, who is a diplomat (Assistant Admin for Africa at USAID).
I'm not up with Blue's last post either (!). Blue, who's Daryl? -
As we remember the death of President Kennedy 50 years ago today, let's review where we all were when we heard the devastating news. I was in a Grade 11 history class, and I clearly remember our teacher coming in to the classroom and telling us the news. We were glued to the television for the whole weekend, not wanting to believe what we were seeing and hearing, and wondering "What now?" -- just as most of the rest of the world was doing as well. -
Sunny, it's a TV show about zombies and Daryl is a favourite. He's the one I took a pic with last summer! A real sweetie. I was having trouble walking, after that looooong day, so he came right up to me rather than me walk to him.
E has been quiet on FB too! Maybe she'll hop in and let us know.
Romero de Torres 1874-1930 -
Linda, same here, only I was in Grade 2, I think. -
Blue, honestly???? -
grade 7, twelve years old, in Calgary. A friend who had lived in Dallas (her dad was in the oil industry) came up to me in the lunchroom crying. She and her mom had just come from the dentist and heard the news on the CBC radio. Then our principal made an announcement over the PA. We were all terrified that it meant the nuclear war that we had been preparing for ( by practicing hiding under our desks, and lying, saying we lived less than four blocks from school so that we could go home and die with our moms and younger siblings) was starting. -
Grade one. I remember being let out early but not why. I do remember watching the train arrival and funeral procession in black and white.
Sunny...I put the book on hold at my digital library the other day when a couple of you referenced it. I am next in line.
(((((E))))) Hope you are coping well although I imagine you are pouting about not being able to ride. -
I really can't remember but I do remember being in a classroom. Now that I did the math, I guess I was in grade 6. Did say Grade 2...I lied! hahaha! -
I was in grade 9. While walking down the hall I saw a classmate running, crying and shouting "my president has been killed." Such a sad, sad day. -
I can't recall for sure where I was when Pres. Kennedy was shot. I do recall though sitting through so many t.v. broadcasts just stunned completely. It just didn't seem possible that someone could dislike the President or our county enough to commit such a despicable crime.
Of course, being young -- and already having been taught for years that people find ways of working out their differences, good, solid, acceptable ways, it was just hard to accept that someone would even shoot at a motorcade, let alone have the intent to wound or kill a President.
Like most people I've always wondered what the world would be like today if this event had not have taken place. Here is a quote I ran across this morning that says so much about this man.
I am certain that after the dust of centuries has passed over our cities, we, too, will be remembered not for our defeats in battles or politics, but for our contribution to the human spirit.
John F. Kennedy
Gone way too soon, but never forgotten.

I was only 3 years old, so I have no memory of the event. It was a big part of my childhood, though. My grandparents had coffee table books about the event and I was fascinated by it.

I was in Grade 11 geometry class in Ontario. An American girl in my class was crying and we learned that it was because of the assassination. -
That assassination will forever leave a stain on the U.S.'s history! Whether it was a single shooter or a conspiracy, the end result is the same. The world lost a great man that day! -
