Toronto's mayor is making the SNL skit lineup. We are so proud! -
Phew! I was afraid to try that quiz because of fear of failure. Instead I got only two questions wrong for a 91st percentile score. Sadly the questions I missed were computer ones - the Google Glass and Yahoo CEO one.
Meanwhile I am enjoying watching the never ending story ofToronto's mayor. Yesterday CNN did a thing about him and didn't know that Ottawa is the capital of Canada while Toronto is the capital of Ontario (or maybe they didn't know that we have provinces and Ontario is one of them).
Our Prime Minister is named Stephen Harper. He is a Conservative. I am not. 'Nuff said on him. -
Can't believe what that mayor said yesterday, in response to accusations of sexual harassment. It went something like, I wouldn't do that cause I get plenty of BLEEEEEP at home! OMG! And it actually aired live. The news person was horrified! -
All correct and middle-class.
Pip, at least there is entertainment value. -
12/13 Middle Class. I guessed incorrectly on the Dow Jones.
LOL Pip. Reminds me of when Sarah Palin was on SNL. You know it's going to be hilarious but are embarrassed that there are people who will vote for her.
-
Can't wait to see it and have a good belly laugh. -

96% but don't know which one I got wrong.
Gotta go take the other test.
LOVE the brussel sprouts recipe - seriously, funny to read, but bet it's GOOD. The 5 rules are a stitch.
ETA: the Tundra Tart having an opinion about the Pope is the best example of chutzpah I've seen in a l-o-n-g time! -
LOL @ the "Tundra Tart." I prefer "Caribou Barbie," myself.
-
I'm also liking Snowdrift Snookie! -
Flaked Alaska.
Alaskan Chillbilly
copied from elsewhere off the web. -
I love quizzes. 96% - missed the Dow, but didn't have to guess about any of the others. And bourgeoise.
Back from Cancun - survived another airplane ride. Six takeoffs and landings in a month. I think I have used up my terror points for the rest of the year. And all six of the flights were perfectly fine and normal. I think I need to try hypnosis to get over this increasing terror of flying. There are a lot of places I still want to go! -
P.S. Don't forget Sparklemoose, too. -
For those who may be interested. I have participated in calls like this with the Governor of Arkansas. You speak your question or comment into the phone and your call is put in a "Q". You can listen to other people's questions and the answers. There can a significant delay before you hear your question depending on the number of people who sign up. Of course all calls are screened and some may be ignored if they are disrespectful or use inappropriate language.

One can sign up to be part of a conference call. I have been on this type of call with the governor of Arkansas a couple of times. If it works the same way then one can record a question and the recording will be put in a "Q" with all other questions. One will be able to hear the questions and answers of others as well as one's own. It may take a while for the question you recorded to make it to the top of the "Q". I always hung up before my question came up because it had been asked and answered by an earlier caller. All questions were screened to prevent inappropriate or disrespectful comment. I am not certain the calls to this link will work this way but I don't see why they wouldn't.

Quick fix on two fronts...Single payer and watch some Republican heads explode. Win/Win situation!
-
Add to the list, Tundra Twit -
Single payer!! To hell with the insurance companies. -
Chicky, great one!
Alexandria, totally agree. Now if we can just convince the regressives in Congress. -
Another proud rt. winger strikes again. No wonder some days you just want to cry about the idiocy....so tiresome.

Jackie -- When I was a little girl, and criticizing some other little girl in my class for her behaviour, my mother told me that what I find bothersome (to use a kind word) in others is very often what I'm guilty of, myself.
That never stopped me from being critical of others (more's the pity!) but I have noticed the verity of her words: whenever a GOTPer makes false claims against liberals, progressives etc., it's always the very thing of which they themselves are guilty. Some people call it projection. I think it's a "learned" strategy, carefully taught by the same folks (Frank Luntz?) who provide their daily talking points. Accuse the other guy of something FIRST, which takes the pressure off the accuser. It's sick, but it's politics, and it's turning so many people off. "You can't trust any of them" becomes the meme, resulting in abysmally poor voter turnout -- which, of course, is exactly what the accusers want. <sigh> -
Crazy, I have a good example of that. Some time ago when AIDS was coming front and center there was much gay bashing on Capitol Hill. Only back then some newspaper types got nosy and started poking around the P St. Area of DC where many quiet bars and meeting places were. I had a neighbor who was a National Park Policeman occasionally patrolling the P St beach area. My DH was assigned telephone repair for the area.
The loudest bashers and most self righteous Capitol Hill types, of course were skulking around trying not to be seen. I can't remember who got caught with their hypocrisy showing.
Little bit like Newt Gingrich had to stop bashing Clinton when he got caught philandering around. -
Single Payer voter here. And I still blame Max Baucus for making sure we didn't get it when Obama wanted it in 2008.
Love the names for the Alaska arse - my favorite is still her having the gubmint pay for her tanning bed when she moved into the gubmint house.
C4C - your mom was a true Buddha. Wise. Wise. Wise. One of the basic teachings of HH the Dalai Lama.
