Conventional treatment actually enriches the tumor population?

Susan,
The original thread where natty was relishing my being stage IV was on the root canal thread and the conversation is similar. I think it was revived via comments on this thread and the discovery, yesterday, that my dd had read the cruel comment before it was deleted. As far as I know, it hasn't been moved. Sorry if this has veered ot.
Caryn -
Nope you are not hallucinating. Same (mis)interpretation of the same research study. But the topic didn't get moved. It got started up again. A repost of the same info.
At least here it is in the correct forum, although this thread was started in the Complementary Forum before being moved to the more appropriate Alternate Forum. -
Beesie ~ thanks! I though I had a bad case of deja vu!
xbronxgirl ~ so sorry people can be so mean. -
exbrnxgrl, piping in to say I'm sorry that your DD was subjected to this.
I've not been posting long, but have read for some time. This wasn't new. -
thx, MmeJ. I've been on bco and active for two years. I've seen the usual cattiness, name calling personal attacks (sadly). But, up until that fateful post aimed at me, I had never see anyone take such delight in another members advanced disease. It was beyond the bounds of all human decency.
Susan, thank you. Mean is too kind for how cruel the comment was. I had kind of cooled down about it but now, knowing my baby (ok, she's 23) saw it, I am furious. -
exbrnxgrl-I am afraid that sometimes having a serious health issue brings out the worst not the best in people. I don't want to think someone could take pleasure in someone else's diagnosis but it sounds that way. I feel your posts have always been warm-hearted and compassionate to others- I wish the same courtesy would be extended to you.
I have a 25yo daughter who has been very supportive but also emotionally affected by my cancer diagnosis. We want to protect them and they are so strong because of how we have raised them to be independent young women. She probably wanted to kick some butt if she felt her mom was being attacked -
Thanks ladies, I am exbrnxgrl's younger daughter that read the post. I was hurt, upset, & just shocked that an adult could behave so cruelly on a place that my mom has found so much support & comfort in. While I try my hardest to help my mom & support her, I can't say I know what she is going through. I am eternally grateful for all the love, support, guidance, & understanding you have provided & continue to provide my mom with. I am hoping one day she will get the joy of meeting some of you in person (hint, if anyone in the bay area wants to get together I am more than willing to be the DD and pick you all up after cocktail hour!
And yes, WYO, I did want to kick some butt...or send a nasty PM to her. However, my mom taught me not to fight with cruel people, they will drag you down to their level & then win with experience.
Kaila -
Kaila, nice to meet you. After all these years I finally learn that DD is designated driver, duh! Here I thought it was darling daughter
Although your urge to kick some ass is much appreciated, your mama is right, it is like wrestling a pig in mud - you get dirty and the pig likes it. -
My darling, K, thank you for your post. I love you beyond words !
To everyone else,
Many thanks for your support of both me and your kind responses to Kaila. She has been with me every step of the way!
Caryn -
blessings to you both :-) -
great p ost, great informative study jojo. & that natty post was defending a post of mine. no one seems to have noticed that. it was tit for tat. but unfortunate all the way around & around -
Are you seriously defending Natty's post Abigail? What is so greatly informative about JoJo's post that is not just alarmist misinterpretation? -
yes I'm defending her post. she commented on a post against my post by commenting on that post. & I'd think jojo's link was extremely apt from what I've read here: lymphedemia to say the least, radiation burns? etc etc -
And, here we go again!!!
abigail... what Natty said to Caryn was revolting, inexcusable, insensitive and thoroughly vicious. End of story. Please do not stir up this entire hornet's nest again. Caryn and her daughter have been hurt enough.
-
I didn't stir it up. gary, the mouse whisperer has been talking about his mouse experiments again, when the alternatively cared for mice lived 30% longer that those who were treated conventionally he gave the study to be reviewed & no one believed him. so he did the 2 year experiment over again with the same results. still he was not allowed to publish because his protocalls did not match conventional thought. -
Abigail, please articulate your conclusions based on the text of the article above regarding radiation burns and lymphedema. -
no , just what I've read here during these past 2+ years. there was nothing in the article i scanned about effects of conventional treatment, just that they were ineffective somewhat anyway. not surgery, it wasn't mentioned. & the mouse whisperer recommends it for our trouble. okay I guess if you know a successful surgeon & you're fairly young & with no other destructive diseases etc etc.& probably if you don't know of anyone whose died under the knife. -
Well...I never saw what Natty posted, so I cannot comment either way, but let's just get past it.
-
abigail, are you serious? Tit for tat? I just reread that exchange. You and Caryn were debating and disagreeing on a number of topics, including the topic of self-diagnosis. Caryn made a comment about that, one that I suspect most of us here would agree with. And she concluded that the back and forth was a "fruitless exchange". She made no disparaging or personal comments about you. You are implying here that Caryn said something to you that warranted the comment from Natty, and that's ridiculous. For you to defend what Natty said is simply beyond belief.
There are probably a lot of people reading this who have no idea what the original discussion was about, and the offending post from Natty thankfully has been removed. To ensure that people reading aren't left with any thought that Caryn might have initiated the exchange that lead to such a vile comment, I wanted to provide some context.
Kaila, it's nice to 'meet' you. As you can see, the discussion boards here are a little microcosm of the world; there is no telling who you might run into! Fortunately most of the people here are nice and caring and compassionate. Like your Mom! -
I'd need to go back & look, but as I recall natty was saying not that she was glad anyone had cancer but perhaps it would be better n ot to throw stones -
abigail... PLEASE STOP. This is doing nothing but stirring the pot. Please cease and desist, and either contribute to the original topic or LET IT GO.
-
abigail, a lot of us saw that post from Natty before it was deleted. What it said was a lot worse that what you just suggested. It was indefensible and that's why so many of us are dumbfounded that you are defending it. The post is gone now so you won't find anything if you go back.
Sometimes it's better to just back away and leave before you make a situation any worse than it already is. -
And Jojo, it really was unforgivable, so with regards to Natty, a lot of us will not ever get past this one. She totally crossed the line. -
Birds of a feather....nuff said -
nuff said.............that bleeding event I think wasn't from colloidal silver or whatever other conjecture, but as usual there was a weather front co ming in, our first snow. & re: surgery: astrologers might say not on tuesdays (ruled by mars) but actually days of the week in a solar calendar are only a construct, but I'd be careful to have surgery only when the weather was fine & would be for awhile -
What? *confused look on my face* -
Btw, Nattys post was some of the most disgusting words I have ever read. I was stunned. Taking pleasure in someone's advanced stage? There but for the grace of God go I. Natty should consider those words. -
Hello Ladies,
Just got home (parent /teacher conferences started today) and caught up on this thread. Many, many thanks to those who truly understood the horrendous nature of natty's post. For those who did not read it, count yourselves lucky. I think you would be truly disturbed and disgusted by what she wrote. I am glad you were spared.
Abigail, tit for tat? Really ? Most of my first graders have moved beyond that. It is no secret that I find it astounding that you have self diagnosed your "breast cancer" and that you come here to post your advice and the words of a wholly unqualified radio show host. Never the less, I would never wish you anything but good health and a happy life. I also would have never pegged you as someone who would support such blatant, rank cruelty to another person.
Jojo- as I stated above, I am happy you never read the post in question. We may passionately disagree about many things on this forum. We have sometimes been mean, catty and unkind but, as others have stated, we have never seen anyone post anything as "cruel, revolting, vicious and disgusting" as natty' s post. As a mother, I am further upset by the fact that my loving, amazing daughter, who has been by my side every step of this odyssey, had to read such an awful thing. It is hard enough for her to live with the fact that she will probably lose me years too soon, did she have to be exposed to this as well ? I believe you are a mother too, so I hope you'll understand.
Lest anyone think this was about alt vs. conventional or any other sundry divisions, you would be wrong. If anyone, and I really do mean anyone, wrote something like that I would be equally upset. The only mystery is why the mods have not permanently banned her. This is no place for someone who would post something so revolting to any human being, no less a fellow bc sister.
Caryn -
Mardi, don't be obtuse nowThe advice is very straight forward, only get operated under favorable weather conditions.
-
I will remember that next time.
